I’m from TN and live close to Chattanooga. Would love to have a place like this with great country cooking and classic country music being played while enjoying dinner. Highly recommend this place if you ever pass through.

My husband and I kept passing this restaurant and after a few months, we finally tried it out. I wish we had done so sooner. Very casual atmosphere and very welcoming. They had wonderful service and there was a live band playing covers. The one song I clearly remember was«Three Wooden Crosses» and I enjoyed their cover greatly. They tend to have a band play for tips on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 6pm. Today they wrapped up before 8:30pm. I ordered Grilled Shrimp(12) with sides of Macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes(with brown gravy), and hushpuppies(3). It was very delicious. I only would have changed my order to 6 shrimp because the sides were generous enough that I would have been full with just 6. The grilled shrimp was well seasoned and superb. They also have artwork from several local artists decorating the walls and it is for sale. Loved this whole place. Very good value for the type of food they offer — no boxed mashed potatoes here. Really wonderful, plan on making this a regular stop.

I went here with my small workplace for a lunch around 2pm. We had called ahead to reserve a spot for our group. They sat us in their back conference room and there was enough space for the 13+ people we brought there. It had a nice atmosphere that’s rare around this part of town. The building looks a lot smaller on the outside but once you walk in you can see they have a lot of space. It’s dark and a bit run-down but in a way it adds to the homey and relaxing atmosphere. We only had one waitress who came to take all of our orders and she did an amazing job though she seemed unnecessarily overwhelmed. I feel they should have given us another waiter/waitress to help her out with the number of people we had. They have a type of «mothers home cooking» food. Usually this is not my style of cuisine but it was good.

Passing through and Stopped here on a whim because of the awesome reviews. So so glad I did. Had The lunch special today, chicken fried steak was so great. White gravely on it and mashed potatoes with some purple hull peas… Homemade pan corn bread and a sweet tea to put my in a food coma. Will def be stopping by here again when I’m in the area.

Authentic Southern Food! I was in fried okra Heaven! My Hubby got the Monster Chicken fried Steak, and I got the Veggie Plate pictured. I especially loved the greens and cornbread. It was so much food that we didn’t have room for dessert, which sounded fantastic — peanut butter pie, chocolate pie, and several more flavors.

Great southern food at a great price! The fried pickles are the best in the area. They also have great catfish! I’ve never had a meal here I didn’t like! Occasionally when we go they have live music which is always a nice surprise!

Great down home food, good bands for the whole family on the weekends. One of our very favorite local places to go.

Great home cooking in a casual atmosphere. The kids love the live band. Everyone in the family leaves happy. If you are looking for fast or fancy this is not the place for you. I’ve tried most things on the menu and haven’t been disappointed. I love the ribeye and catfish and on nights where I need a lighter meal I go for the chef salad.

I love to order their lunch special of the day for my lunch during work. Their creamed corn and mashed potatoes are so good! You can’t go wrong with any of the food there. The only disappointment is that there always seems to be some small problem when I come to pick up my order.(Wrong drink, wrong sides, no cornbread, just little quality control kind of stuff that could easily be fixed.) And the person who hands me my order will usually turn on her heels and run off to do something else as I’m checking my order at the counter. When I see that something is incorrect with my order, it usually takes me about 10 minutes(no exaggeration) to either find her again or find a server that isn’t acting like she can’t be bothered. Overall, the food is delicious, the service is mediocre, and the price is right!

If your idea of a great meal is fried country cooking, then you will love it. If you want something healthy don’t go here. There are fried potato sticks on the iceberg salad. The potato soup was made w velveeta cheese and inedible. However, my son’s hamburger was great– good meat, and freshly made. My husband’s fried chicken strips and hush puppies were good too. But, I really wanted fresh and healthy vegetables– most items on the veggie plate were fried so I chose soup and salad and was sadly disappointed. If you love fried and country food, then this is the place for you.

I recommend this place to everyone! Great family orientated, home cooking food. Everything about this place is great. Topped of with live music, and days with open mike night. You won’t be disappointed!

This has quickly become a lunch-break favorite for me. I first heard about this place from a friend of mine who’s lived around here for some time now, and one day realized it was right by where I worked. I came here for their lunch special to go and got the chicken-fried steak, cream corn, mac and cheese, and hush puppies. All of this was less than $ 10 including tax. All of their food was good and plentiful, and stayed true to good southern cookin’. I came here a week later with the girlfriend during lunch hour and enjoyed excellent food(although I would opt to switch out their mac and cheese next time) and excellent service. They have friendly service, cozy ambiance, good food, hearty portions, and good prices. What more could you possibly want? Strongly recommended!

Southern comfort food is best description of this place. Be aware it usually has long waits. Food is great. Chicken tenders were yummy and not greasy. Corn were creamy and so were mashed potato. Overall good experience for good price.

Mmm, time to put some south in yo mouth y’all! This place is right by the bf’s work so I went down to meet him for lunch and decided he shall bring home dinners from here in the future. I had the chicken tender dinner with broccoli, mashed potatoes and hush puppies. Yummy, yummy in my tummy! These are NOT frozen tenders. The buffalo ranch dipping sauce was quite delightful. The price point is under $ 10 a meal unless you get steak. The décor is simple but gives the down home feel. Looks like the have music at night, fun. Let’s just say this won’t be my last visit.

Sweet Pea’s screams«Olive Branch.» If you are looking for a meat and three around dinner time, stop in for decent food at decent prices. The waitstaff is kind and accommodating, though the occasional order screw-up is common. Be aware, for whatever reason wait times can be darn near unbearable, even on slow nights. Sometimes there is a(seemingly impromptu) country or bluegrass band playing on the weekends, but this is a family joint and definitely not a place to grab some brews.

Who am I kidding!!! I have to give this place a 5 star rating! I genuinely enjoy every single visit! Sure, it’s not always perfect but it’s damn close. The food is always hot and fresh, the prices are ridiculously cheap for what you get, and the people are nice as you will find in the Tri State area. They have a motto«Southern cookin makes you good lookin». Love it Serious here folks… The catfish is amazing! I have to make myself try other stuff. You can get it fried, grilled, or blackened, and even a combination of any way really. My wife loves the chef salad(it’s actually a beautiful salad) and the grilled shrimp. The bacon cheeseburger is fat, juicy, goodness(glad she’s not on Unilocal, see pic). The veggies are fresh! The cornbread rocks, and don’t get me started about those hush puppies. Still haven’t tried a steak, someone please review a steak. I could go on and on but… I’m too damn full and it would just get boring… Stay away! I hate waiting for tables!

Thanks to trusty Unilocal,I found another food jewel. I was in Olive Branch on business and needed a quick meal. I checked Unilocal and Sweet Pea’s Table popped up at the top of the list. I knew it was a local institution, when I saw officers, and groups of families walking in as well as very few parking spaces available — even after the main lunch rush. There’s a daily specials menu and then there’s a made to order menu. I went with the daily special. Chicken strips. The server helped me pick out my sides: mac and cheese and mustard greens. I ordered the meal to-go and it was ready in 10 minutes. It was so delicious! Not salty, not bland. Just right. I remember saying«yummy» out loud, after the first bite. The only reason I didn’t give them five stars is because I ordered sweet tea and they accidentally gave me unsweetened tea. I will go back in a heartbeat. One of the best meals ever!

It’s difficult for me to give this hole in the wall 5 stars when the location, building, and décor is in MUCHNEED of an UPDATE! Ok, with that being said – the food is Southern Flavor, straight from the garden, and earns 5 Stars if you are judging it with other food in the same category! I took my southern parents here for lunch on a Saturday after the«Grandma’s Kitchen» reviews stated by other Unilocalers. I figured this place would be right up their alley – and I was CORRECT! They plowed thru everything on the table: D The onion rings are in a batter that is light, crispy, and just awesome! The exceptional items I tried were yams and cream-style corn. This is NOT your typical cream-style flavor! It was so creamy and delicious. I seriously need the recipe! The catfish was really good as well. Service was prompt. The waitress was knowledgable about the menu & kept our drinks filled. I didn’t visit the loo, so I have no idea about the condition of that area. I also didn’t go when there was a band playing… although, that may have been a treat for the parentals!
