I have successfully ordered gluten free Chicago style pizza here in the past, but today they made something that wasn’t deep dish and seemed clueless about how ridiculous it was they were going to charge me $ 26 for something that clearly was not Chicago style deep dish. Considering this is literally the only place that offers such pizza and I don’t live here it is a huge disappointment to order it, get there and find out it isn’t the pizza I ordered. They offered to give me the pizza they made by I didn’t want a regular pizza that I can get anywhere that offers gluten free pizza, and I had already had to wait for that pizza to me made and was not confident they would actually make it correctly that time since I kept getting told«I don’t know». You really don’t know how ridiculous it is to give me something that doesn’t even resemble deep dish pizza for $ 26??? Please make sure all your employees actually know what they are doing.

Thin crust was terrible. Deep dish Detroit pretty mediocre. Ten gallons of ketchupy sauce. No reason to go back.

My husband and I have given this place many changes with their delivery service. Each time their online service says 40 mins and each time it takes over an hour. Their pizza is decent, but the workers clearly could care less about your concerns. They need to hire more people and fix their website. We will not be ordering from them again.

Guido’s was featured on the hooked app, so I figured I’d give it a try. $ 11 for their xl pizza was an incredible deal. Toppings were good, sauce was good, crust was good. My only gripe is that it was INCREDIBLY salty. so so salty. it tasted good, but my tongue was literally burning from the sodium content. Was dying of thirst after a couple deep dish slices. Probably gained 10lbs in water retention. My suggestion to them would be to take it easy with the sodium in the sauce recipe.

This pizza was great! We got a deep dish classic with original sauce and a butter Parmesan garlic crust. The only complaint I have is that the Parmesan made it a little too salty but other than that it was super yummy! Also we ordered delivery and it took over an hour… That was frustrating. But taste, texture wise it was delish!

Just the BEST! I live in Chicago, when I visit my parents here in Okemos I am barely in their front yard before I am ordering a BIG G pizza from Guidos. The Detroit style pizza is not heavy for a thicker crust pizza. It’s not doughy or bready. It’s just right. The sauce is awesome. Personally, I love a sweet sauce, as most pizza sauces are super acidic. Though their sauce is not outright sweet, it’s perfectly balanced almost like a good marinara pasta sauce would be. Their mozz sticks are super yummy too. Guidos kicks the crap out of anything the Cottage Inn offers and a super nice staff as well. Online ordering for a small company is surprisingly good, no crashing, remembers your past orders, and credit card info if wanted. I feel like people forget about this little place stuffed in a strip mall over near walmart. It’s worth a try for sure. Generous coupon program via email(sign up), paper coupons(local paper, Valpak, door hang tags), and online when ordering though their site they offer on line only coupons and specials. I will add that I have never tried their«regular style pizza» IE round and non Detroit style. Only the Detroit thicker crust style which is 100% awesome, 10 million % better than any pizza I have gotten in Chicago.

Ordered online. Hand tossed cheese pizza not bad bread stick good too. Deep dish unsatisfactory. No pepperoni and minuscule mushrooms covered in thick viscous sauce. Pretty bad. Called to let them know — Steve the manager actually said«this pizza has won awards» — and«Okemos people are snobbish» — hey no pizza pizza place is perfect but why insult me for letting them know it was not satisfactory? Was not going to leave a review until Steve said — «even if I refund you, you will leave a bad review» — dude takes his bad pizza serious. Anyway it wasn’t only the pizza that left a bad taste — choose at your own risk.

We were visiting MSU from Arizona and needed a gluten free dinner. The owner was kind and passionate about creating delicious GF food. My son has never been able to have bread sticks. He said this was his favorite day ever because he LOVED the pizza and bread sticks. We all did! We had the medium thickness crust and it was delicious! The best part was that our son had delicious dessert choices that were GF– including a gluten free waffle ice cream cone! Thank you!!!

Only come here if you have a lot of time on your hands. I came here with some family members. Their order came out in about a half hour. I ordered the same medium hand tossed pizza seconds after they did, but for some reason mine took a full hour to come out. Save yourself some aggravation and go to one of the other 100 pizza places in the area.

I called last Friday at 3:15 pm and ordered 2 pizzas(one GF) and some motz bread. I asked that it be ready to pick up at 5:00 pm. «No problem» I was told. I arrived 5 minutes before 5:00 and the pizza was not ready yet, no big deal, I was told 10 minutes. Sure, I had a baby in the car so I went and waited in the car. 10 minutes later I go back in– whoever was working the register couldn’t figure something out and there I stood along with 5 more people unnoticed for another 10 minutes. Meanwhile, I have a crying infant in the car. While standing there waiting, 3 workers from the back casually come out to fill up on soda… Whatever. I finally had to ask if my order was ready. 25 minutes after I was told 10 minutes. This is the second time this has happened to me. Totally NOT worth the $ 55 I paid for this. The whole reason I called an hour and 45 minutes ahead is so that I would not have to wait. Not sure if I will be coming back just because it’s a hassle every time I do come.

Been here twice… once as a dine-in, once as pick-up. Both times we ordered The Classic Detroit-style pizza, and had the antipasto salad. We tried the original and the spicy fire roasted sauces… both were good, but the original wins. Skip the salad here… a true antipasto in my book is smothered in the dressing and the meat & cheese outnumber the lechuga… not the case here. I am a die-hard fan of Louie’s in Hazel Park. Although this pizza is not on Louie’s level, it is a friggin’ legit Detroit pie… definitely will quell your Detroit-style craving without the drive. I ordered the carry-out on-line with a delayed pick-up time. I arrived 5 minutes earlier than what I requested, and was out the door with a chewy yet crunchy funktastic pizza right on time.

The pizza was exceptional. I had the Detroit style pizza with extra cheese and extra pepperoni and the spicy sauce. It was really good. I also had a small salad and it was excellent as we’ll and even had some awesome beets on it Dwight schrute style. The workers seemed to be working hard but it seemed they were understaffed. This was Super Bowl Sunday which you have to know is going to be crazy busy for a pizza joint. I don’t blame the workers as I blame management.

I’ve been gluten and dairy free for over four years and have tried over a dozen different brands of pizza crusts and pizza establishments all throughout the Midwest – none have come close to Guido’s quality. The owner and chef has perfected the gluten free crust; my husband and I have started to make Guido’s an annual stop on our way to or from visiting family in Michigan, when traveling from Chicago. Connected to the pizzeria is a gluten free deli and bakery. Unparalleled care is given to keeping the food uncontaminated and the bakery items are every bit as heavenly as the pizza. *bonus: you can get vegan cheese on your pizza AND there are dairy free bakery items, too!

This place is great! They have a certified gluten free deli attached that also offers delicious gf baked goodies! My husband and I had the gf Chicago style pizza and it was worth the wait! We also tried a grinder and it was phenomenal! They have other treats that gf people usually can’t partake of, like fried dill pickles — yum! Don’t go in a hurry, but trust that the owner is very knowledgable and is sure to not cross contaminate. Awesome experience! Now, we need him to open a location in Chicago!

3.5 stars Pizza was hot, fresh and doughy, I enjoyed the doughy crust. They offer three types of sauces: original, chunky tomato and spicy fire roasted. Will definitely come back to try more menu items.

The owner is very knowledgable on tricky allergy diets. We tried the Chicago style deep dish gluten free pizza and it was delicious. The crust is crispy on the bottom instead of soggy like many GF crusts can be.

As a very adventurous gluten free gal, I am always doing searches to see if new options exist. I went back to my alma mater for a presentation at MSU and did a quick google search to see if any new gluten free places had popped up and found this fantastic option. Unfortunately, by the time I got over there they had turned off the GF oven(which happens around 8 p.m. most nights-FYI) so I was bummed out not to try it. However, very pleasantly surprised that the owner there took me into his 100% GF deli(only nationally certified deli in the US!) and gave me a chocolate chip cookie and a slice of delicious Michigan Cherry bread with a few pats of butter– he even turned the toaster to toast it perfectly for me. While I did not get to enjoy one of the deli sandwiches or pizzas as I was looking forward to, his hospitality and kindness is worth a full trip back to East Lansing to fully experience this GF deli.

Checked out this place a couple weeks ago with a couple of friends because they were kind enough to agree to satisfy my pizza craving :) We’re all pretty new to the area, so we went here on a recommendation, and all three of us agreed it was a great experience. Guido’s has some pretty great choices and variety. You get to choose your type of crust and sauce(no extra charge!) and then select from one of their 10 signature or supreme pizzas or build your own. We got the Guido Supreme(minus mushrooms) on hand-tossed crust with Guido original sauce and loved it! They make it when you order it, so it takes a little while, but it was totally worth the wait It totally satisfied my pizza craving :) They also have some other appetizers/sides/pasta/etc. We got the Guido bread, which took more time than our pizza, but again — worth the wait :) The workers were really friendly, too, but they’re a little slow on the clean up — a couple of the tables still had plates/platters/etc on them for a while after we sat down. Our pizza came out pretty quickly, but there was another party that were waiting for what seemed like forever. The workers apologized repeatedly without having been confronted by the customers, and I think they received some kind of accomodation for the delay. The seating is kind of limited to maybe 3 – 4 booths, a couple of two-seater tables and two larger tables that seat maybe 4 – 6 people. A lot of people seemed to come in to get pizza to go, though. The only reason why I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the wait and slow clean-up service. Overall, though, I’d definitely go back again: D

After all the rave reviews, I was little disappointed. I got a personal sized veggie and my fiancé got a personal sized alfredo pizza. Mine was perfectly acceptable, but hers had flavorless alfredo and was just drowning in unnecessary onions. We also got breadsticks with ranch dip, and that was actually quite fantastic. The breadsticks were light and fluffy, but with a nice crust. The ranch was housemade and quite tasty. I doubt I’ll drive over to Okemos for Guido’s Pizza anytime soon, but it wasn’t bad. Next time I get delivery, I might try them again, as their prices were reasonable and it’s definitely a step up from the pizza-flavored food objects slung out by Gumby’s and it’s ilk. Maybe I should have just gotten a Chicago style…

I had pretty much given up on expecting exceptional pizza since moving to Okemos from Chicago. This place was like a breath of fresh air. What drew me to Guido’s was the fact that they offer Daiya Dairy-Free Cheese with their pizzas. What? in MICHIGAN? Where cheese is it’s own food group? That’s right, it’s true. And not only is it true, but it is F’n GOOD. While I won’t try to fool anyone and tell them it tastes like the real thing, it’s still frick’n excellent. I got their Veggie deep dish with the dairy free cheese, and I was whisked away to a sea of ultra-sensory ofactory and taste exploding delights that had me kicking myself that I did not discover this place sooner. Not just the best pizza in Meridian Township, best pizza in the midwest outside of Chicago. Run! Get you’re ass over there and scarf some savory pizza now! NOW!
