I got the BBQ sampler. Wings were the best. Brisket was dry. Pulled pork was ok. Ribs were a little over done. I’ll give them another try some time and would definitely go for the wings.

Outstanding barbecue. I had the breakfast burger a good mix of the pulled pork with eggs, bacon and perfectly cooked burger. The staff is very friendly a sociable which is great as my one year old threw a couple tantrums. The atmosphere is good with a well stocked bar and plenty of the to watch sports. The best touch was that the pit master came out and personally checked on our meals and satisfaction, an old school touch that I enjoy. Awesome place.

Came in just thinking it was a bbq joint with a bar, but the food is so much better than that! Definitely surpassed my expectations. The ribs were amazing, but make sure to try to waffled pig. Its probably one of my favorite dishes in all of Anne Arundel County. The main room was sort of crowded and more of a bar type atmoshpere, but if your looking for a little quiter place to sit try to get a seat in the area with the front bar.

This was a pleasant surprise for a lunch recommendation. Nice looking décor and more importantly the food is great. We all liked everything we had and the Waffled pig blew me away. I never had anything like it. The lunch buffet had a nice variety. All in all the BBQ was solid. Good service and a friendly staff. We will definitely be back in the future.

I ventured out here the Tuesday after Snowzilla 2016, and what a wonderful gem this place is. It was super loud in the main dining area, and was packed. I guess cabin fever had overcome many of the locals. I was greeted with a smile and seated at a table in the front near the dessert(ice cream) bar. It was much quieter in there. The service here was great. I got some good recommendations. Pitmaster even Bob Krohn came out and checked up on us, making sure that everything was good, and it was. We chatted with him for a little bit about the snow, and the food. He was a very cool guy! We started with the crab dip and it was nice and rich. A good deal of crab on top, and some in the dip itself. The bread was sliced and buttered, and slightly crunch: perfect except we needed more. For my entrée, I had the fried chicken. This is not yo momma’s fried chicken though. The best way I can describe it is that it’s like getting a rack(or half) with a dry rub, and then it’s fried. Very tasty, but a little sweet for me. HUGE portion nonetheless. I think it was a wing, drum, breast and thigh. Essentially a half chicken, and you get two sides. I didn’t care much for the mac and cheese, but the collard greens were bomb diggity. The beer list is more extensive than I would have expected, and I can see this place getting jammed when the weather is warmer. I’m glad I discovered it, and I’ll definitely be going back at some point! I recommend you try it out too!

Absolutely scrumptious hot wings, some of the best I’ve had. Although you don’t get many with one order. Of course that won’t stop be from going again on my next visit, I’ll just order more!

Nice place… the food was exceptional, the service was quite good, and there was a large area for a group was nice. I will return and try some of their other food. The BBQ was very tasty and cooked to perfection. Not one to typically complain about prices but wish more items at lunch were available below the $ 10 mark for a meal. Definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner and although I did not try the deserts they looked AMAZING… Next time. As for recommendations to get a 5 star: The service was a little slow… it may have been the group size. I will be back soon to see how it is.

We recently moved to the Severn area and have been trying to find more hidden gems. This is definitely one of them. Popped in on a Sunday afternoon during football. They immediately asked what game we wanted to see and sat us near the corresponding TV. They have the Sunday Ticket which is nice. The place was pretty empty(about 2pm), They are known for their BBQ but I was very impressed with the entire menu. Everything had a little flair to it. The brussels were fried and served with goat cheese and candied pecans, the collard greens had the most flavor I had ever tasted. I had the beet salad with the pulled chicken which was great! The burger is a mix of beef, short ribs and pulled pork. Everything was just very unique. They have a long list of draft beer and very unique cocktails! I took a peek at their Sunday brunch menu which looked VERY good and I plan to go back!

Service was a mark above acceptable. Ordered the brisket with brussel sprouts and Mac n cheese. I have to preface this review by first saying I am a Texas brisket snob. They advertise Texas brisket… I assure your our BBQ is one million times better than the. Hunks of meat served to me. This brisket was tender but dry if that is a thing. No flavor… the Mac n cheese was luke warm and tasted okay. The only remarkable thing about our meal was Apple Pie Gelato and the brussel sprouts. Definitely would not venture here again… disappointed and just made me home sick for Cooper ‘s BBQ in Llano, TX.

So i’ve been in 4 times since my earlier review(below). The food is good but the place has been hit or miss. I met two friends here tonight and one ordered wings before my other friend ever arrived. Long story short my friend who arrived late got his wings and even finished them before we ever saw the original order. Additionally, while it is a Sat night and they have a band it wasn’t very busy. Though we had to hunt for beer. We ended up just leaving for another spot. ***** original review. My servers were excellent. All service was fast though we didn’t come here for food. I really cant speak for the food. The only reason I take points off is because the bathrooms in the back are disgusting. Like they hang fly traps and back there. Its really concerning. I’ll adjust my review after I try the food. Prices are quite high for alcohol in this area too.

We had a great experience at the hideaway. Our waitress was so friendly and prompt, and the food was delicious! Review honestly would be 4.5 stars(need half stars!) We started with the crab dip. The crab dip was yummy, gooey, and came with some toasted baguettes. Something in the crab dip was a little on the sweeter side, and more than I would’ve preferred, but definitely still palatable. My husband and I both got the hideaway sampler. The sampler comes with shredded pork, two slices of brisket, two wings, and about 3BBQ ribs. Delicious smokey flavors abounded! If you want BBQ sauce on the side,(the items are dry rubbed/smoked) just ask as they have a few to try from! We split our sides(you get a choice of two). The collared greens were excellent, as was the baked beans. We also ordered Mac n cheese(ok — more of a velvety/creamy Mac n cheese vs straight melted and baked cheese) and red potato salad. Despite all that food, we hardly had any leftovers! Dessert was decadent. We got a s’mores brownie sundae and it was INTENSE!!! Two pieces of brownie encasing a large scoop of ice cream with marshmallow fluff toasted, drizzled with caramel and fudge. Definitely a once In awhile dessert unless you are looking to weigh 400 pounds. Price is average and about what you’d expect. Parking is a back lot with lots of open parking. Game night on Tuesdays can get loud, but they do have a separate section of the diner closed off if you want a quiet dinner. All in all, a great experience. You won’t be disappointed!

2.5 stars rounded up. Tried the brisket sandwich with mac n cheese, a naked wing, and pulled pork pierogies. I’m a brisket snob and this rendition was mediocre at best. Average portion of meat on a bland roll topped with bland coleslaw. The knock up sauce is decent. The other 3 sauces are too niche to serve any purpose. Mac n cheese was laughable. Do not get it. Naked wing was pretty good and is the only thing I tried that I would recommend. Top it off with some knock up sauce and you have a winner. Pierogie was decent, but nothing to write home about. Service was pretty bad. Took us 90 minutes to have lunch when the place wasn’t even that crowded.

I remember when this place was called Jim’s hideaway.. I heard about it though my coworkers but never had a chance to try it out. Then l assume under new management it became just the hideaway.. Which name fits the establishment well. Ok I’m going to just put it out there. After a day full of over indulging at the beer festival it was suggested let’s go have some dinner at the hideaway and I was all for it. We arrived around 4:30pm and was acknowledged and seated right away. Our waitress was there within minutes offering water in the mason jars. How cute, at least I thought so. It’s definitely different and l love different! I really was not feeling beer because we had just left from a beer festival. So l wanted something different so l tried the drink that had fresh strawberries in it and vodka. Don’t start me a lieing. Hey l can’t remember. Because of the beer festival. Hahaha it was a lemonade drink. and l must say it was refreshing and the strawberries was very good. Next was the appetizer which was the old bay wings which came with carrots and celery and blue cheese dressing. I poured some of that knock up sauce on it and wowee. Next was the main course meal. I was really hungry so l decided to try the hideaway Sampler which was very good and topped off with that knock up sauce l have to say it was Delicious! ! The food was plentiful and all i could do was sample little by little. It was very filling and l couldn’t finish it all so l took some home. The GREEN’S was AWESOME! The red potato salad was Awesome! I was really surprised because l’m really picky about my potato salad but it was pleasantly good. I will definitely be returning to this place to try out some of their other dishes. See you soon! Last but l haven’t forgotten to acknowledge that our waitress stayed on top of things and was very attentive to our needs and she also recommended her favorite sauce was the knocked up. I have to agree with her on that.

First of all, excellent customer service. My husband and I were looking somewhere close to where we lived to have a simple meal and had been told about this place from a couple of friends. It was just around 5pm-ish when we got there and there was only one other couple inside the bar area. We decided to sit outside on the patio because the weather was beautiful. Meisha was our server and she was completely great. We told her it was our first time there and she immediately introduced us to the menus and the popular items on the menu. She even brought us out some sauces to try. OH, and last but not least, she always came to check on us and make sure our drinks were full throughout our time there. Okay, so these Hideaway Pulled Pork Nachos are so FREAKINGFANTASTIC. Personally, I will remove the beans at the bottom next time, but besides that, still a freaking 5⁄5 on how good they were. Now, mind you, they use waffle fries and not actual nachos, but it is served nacho style with cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, and guacamole, sour cream, jalapeño slices, and pulled pork on top. Get a bit of everything in ONE bite, you will not regret it. The serving is huge, my husband and I barely got through it. We ALSO ordered the Hideaway Sampler that had wings, pulled pork, brisket, and ribs(definitely couldn’t finish that, but we sampled it all and it was just too yummy). After that, I can’t imagine any of their menu items being less than awesome. They have really great drink specials and happy hour as well! Come to the hideaway! You might lose cell phone service, but it will make you focus on this little hidden gem in Odenton that much more!

I went to the hideaway after reading the reviews on Unilocal. This place really is hidden away. I swore the GPS was tripping but of course we found it. It is a casual spot with a bar area to watch sports. It’s very dim in there but it wasn’t a bother. Now on to the important stuff: 1) Nisha(sp?) was our waitress and she was outstanding. Very informative and attentive. She picked our drinks for us as we were indecisive and gave us suggestions on our food which we went with. 2) the Crab dip is AMAZING. Idk but that thing’s main ingredient is deliciousness and heaven. The Crab dip set the bar real high. Oh and the bread was so flaky and soft and perfect. 3) Our main dish: the Hideaway Sampler. Which should be renamed to: Meat Heaven Platter because it showcased how DELICIOUSLYWELL this place can make meat. Absolutely amazing. 4) Our sides and salad were pretty good as well. I will be going back and I definitely recommend this place for dinner. And Crab dip. Get the Crab dip.

Overall this place has a lot of potential! Great vibe, lots of TVs and some good dishes that just need some tweaking here and there to make the dishes stand out. It was hard to figure out if I should give this place 2 or 3 stars but when I considered that the bad outweighed the good and I won’t be coming back… I decided two stars it is since I don’t like it enough to come back. ###The Good### We had the Hideaway burger and Texas Brisket Burger both came with 1 side. We chose hush puppies(on the sweet side) and brussel sprouts(yummy). I really enjoyed the Hideaway Burger which I ordered medium well. It was very juicy, and went well with their Knock Out sauce. The Texas Brisket was okay. Not pleasing and a bit Dissapointing but maybe because I’m Texan. We also ordered the Smore Brownie Sundae. If you have a sweet tooth, this will satisfy it! Super sweet, fudgy and marshmellow-ey topped with a vanilla bean scoop of icecream! ###The Bad### Service was not good. We went around 2pm and we were the ONLY ones in there and yet our waters were not refilled and we were not given enough attention although we counted 9 employees around. We also had some pork pieorgies(spelling?), and it was missing something. Came with three small ones and We didn’t like it. ###The Ugly### The checks was over $ 40 for a measly appetizer, two burgers with side each and 1 dessert. Water for drinks. When I think about spending basically $ 20 for what I ate, I am not impressed. Food was not wow and not worth that price in my opinion. I can think of two other bbq places I could have went and been more satisfied. There also was an evasion of flies which made the dinning experience annoying. They were every where.

Over the last two months I’ve made four trips to the new ‘Hideaway’. Each trip was excellent and better than the previous one. The inside has been completely redesigned, opened up, and everything looks great. A new dessert area was added and the Bar was cleaned up, too. For appetizers you should start out with either the ‘Award Winning Wings’ or the ‘Pulled Pork Pierogies’. The wings have a great smokey flavor and are fabulous. And, if your feeling brave, check out the Armadillo Eggs! These are HUGE jalapeños filled pulled brisket and cheese, battered and fried. And when I say HUGE, I mean it’s enough for three people. There are several salads offered but the only one I’ve tried is «Feel the Beet» and with everything else I’ve ordered at the ‘Hideaway’, Fabulous! The«Memphis Pulled-Pork», «Hideaway Sampler», and«Smoked Fried Chicken» are all excellent items to try. I’ve also had the«BBQ Half Chicken» but this one isn’t what one would expect with the name ‘BBQ’ … this is a smoked Chicken, not a BBQ Chicken. But the one entrée that stands out among all the choices is the«Off-the-Hook Whiskey Salmon». Fiery sweet and makes you want more. Don’t forget the sides … M-m-mac n’ cheese, Red potato salad, Brussels sprouts and Collard greens. Try them all as you won’t regret it. Finally there is dessert … stop over at the Dessert area and say ‘hi’ to Mike. Mike has great offerings to include Ice Cream and speciality coffees. So go check out the new ‘Hideaway’.

This was truly a tucked away, hidden gem. We kind of pigged out when we went. We ordered the Fatty Melt(!!!), brussles, the smoke fried chicken, and a brownie with a scoop of chocolate bacon ice cream. YES, BACON. The desserts are freshly made. The scoop was perfect. This is one of the few places that actually give you a good size of ice cream for the amount of brownie. Actually, they gave us a huge scoop. We made it worth while by splitting the meal in half so we both could try a piece of the goodness. ATMOSPHERE This was a nice quite place with indoor and outdoor seating. The only downfall outside was the bugs, but what do you expect. The indoor restaurant seemed like three restaruants rolled in one. They had two bars and each area had a different theme. One of the nights, I noticed they do a Country & Rock night with a live band if I’m not mistaken. This place is well worth the visit. If you go, let me know your thoughts!

This place is literally in the cut! If you don’t know about it… you won’t know! My friend lives in the area and suggested we go here for dinner. I was surprised that my newbie Unilocaler tingly senses didn’t detect this spot! Onto the review! Parking: Plenty of parking… there’s even an area for motorcycles… or maybe they just parked there(?) Service: We were acknowledged and greeted by the hostess who seated us immediately. Then, we waited… and waited for our waiter to arrive. He took so long that the hostess noticed so she came over and took our drink orders. We waited some more, THEN our waiter came by. This was his theme for the night… absenteeism. lol Food: We had the naked wings for an appetizer. These wings were seasoned so well! What do they use?! Seasoned well, and crispy around the edges just how I like them. My friend also ordered the tomato soup which comes with cut up pieces of a grilled cheese sandwich instead of the regular croutons. WIN! I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. The chicken was seasoned and fried like the appetizer wings were. They aren’t battered like the down home southern fried chicken. No ma’am…these are different. They had that crispy skin and the flavor made its way through to the bone! The mashed potatoes with gravy… yumm!!! I was expecting the mac and cheese to have an elevated flavor profile, but it was bland. But hey… the chicken made up for it. Random tid bit: There was a stage in the back of the room that we were in for live music. I also heard that they have karaōke nights. All in all, I’d say that this is one of those down-home feeling neighborhood spots that I’d definitely come back to. The service we had wasn’t the greatest, but not a deal breaker.
