This is one of our favorite pizza places. The pizza is always delicious and the servers are really nice. The only drawback is the amount of time it takes to get the food. Every time we’ve been we’ve had to wait an unusually long amount of time for our food to arrive. Even when there’s hardly anybody in there. One visit i ordered a salad just because of that and I had to remind the waitress 3x that I wanted the salad first. We still go but not if we’re super hungry and don’t wish to wait 30 – 40 mins for food.

Loads of TV’s. We tried the pizza and it was pretty good. It was not an Italian style, but it was good. The crust was medium thick, innocuous sauce, and a bit light on the toppings which were fairly expensive for what you got. One of our toppings, artichokes, had not been placed on the pizza, or so we thought. Eventually, we found one slice of artichoke. We had a Greek salad which was above average. Everything was fresh and crispy. Our server was attentive and striving to please. She took the charge for the artichoke off the bill. We gave her a good tip. Would I go there again? Yes. And especially to sit by the fire on a cold night. Would I recommend to a friend? Yes. But with the understanding that the pizza is what it is. I noticed some people mentioning Ledo’s in their reviews. I would pick this over Ledo’s anytime.

The food is decent. I really come for the friendly bar staff. Amanda is a great. She’s Friendly and always remembers my name and order. My favorite pizza is the bakers dozen. I used to have a great food runner Andrew but apparently he’s gone. Either way I still enjoy my time here.

Went here late night. They had drink specials and happy hour on food. The wings were delicious. Francesco was very nice and professional. We enjoy our visit for the first time

We are totally not fans of the pizza at Grotto Pizza. We generally go to Ledo Pizza in Crofton, but tried this because it was closer to home.

If you’re on the fence about going here, think again. It is overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. The pizza sauce is canned, the dough tastes like cardboard, and the mushrooms are a soggy mess. The salads aren’t much better. Mine was browned and definitely not fresh. Seriously, is everything here frozen, canned, bagged, and/or pre-made?! The wings are frozen and on the small side but they were ok. The atmosphere is great for sports enthusiasts but not families, in my opinion. The food is honestly just slightly above your average bar food but with a price tag twice as high.

Usually your first thought about something is the correct answer or way to go. Bleh was my thought as I looked over at Grottos and parked. An hour later after my son and I had a quick pizza and he finished with gelato, bleh is what I texted a few friends. The pizza we shared was fare maybe a little to wet or saucy, the atmosphere was mixed and confusing and the service pretty much sucked. I can possibly see having a good time with friends on a game night when drinking is in order the vast number of TVs are needed and bar food is the answer but as a family pizza restaurant, bleh.

Good pizza. Decent prices and specials. Service could use improvement. Staff either seemed overwhelmed or MIA. But it wasn’t so bad that I’d stop going here.

So we went here being a friend said it was good pizza. The cheese fries were good as well my sons buffalo chicken tenders. The pizza looked good on the menu I went with the ‘bakers special’ however after receiving my 1st pizza it was less than special. I only giving a 3 star review being I had to send my pizza back to actually get the pizza toppings I had requested… the second pizza was good however I shouldn’t have had to send it back the 1st time. I would suggest if you order this pizza to request up front for a good portion of veggies toppings and cheese. Wifey wasn’t happy with her chicken parm either being it was cold with the wrong noodles.

I started coming to Grottos over the winter and have continued to come regularly since. We have had nothing but great experiences everytime. I recently started Unilocaling and found my self at Grottos and took it as the perfect opportunity to write a review. Came in tonight after work to watch the Capitals game with some friends. Kylee Was bartending, she is always very attentive and makes tasty drinks. I decided on a a blueberry vodka and lemonade. I also decided to give the wings another try since the first time I had them I wasn’t thrilled. Marci the manager suggested I get sweet chilli sauce and said she would make them extra crispy for me. She did and they were delicious. Marci is always friendly and very attentive. We enjoy coming here because everyone is so friendly. We also ordered mozzarella sticks and my boyfriend drank draft beers. They have $ 2.00 domestic pints, can’t beat that! There is usually a good crowd here especially for football sunday. The restaurant is always clean and orderly. I will definately be coming back.

We invited the family about 17 people up for my sons birthday! We just walked in and they had a great private room on the side with plenty of room, and big screen TV’s! The kids LOVE the air popcorn machine!!! The pizza is delicious!!! check it out!

This is an awesome spot for pizza! I came in on a whim and ordered a personal sized Milano pizza and some wings for take out. As soon as I came in, the host assisted me. While I waited for my order to be completed, I observed the restaurant a bit. They had several TV’s up, which would be perfect to watch any sporting event. The seating area was a bit closed off from the kitchen and they also have a patio for outside dinning. Being the ice cream obsessed person that I am, I spied with my little eye a case filled with several varieties of gelato! I didn’t partake in any that day, but I made a mental note to return. I actually called my order in prior to arriving at Grotto’s, so I only had to wait a few minutes before the host brought out my food. As I was leaving, a server coming from behind me made sure said, «have a great day!» Nice touch. When I got home to eat, I was totally impressed. The wings were very meaty and the mild sauce I chose was really good. The personal pizza was the perfect size for me and I really enjoyed the crust. It wasn’t too thick and it wasn’t too thin. The seasonings they put on the Milano were really tasty too. I normally get some type of meat on my pizzas, but I thought I would change it up a bit. I’m a Ledo’s girl all the way, but this was a nice change. I will certainly be back!

For folks who’ve been going to Rehoboth Beach their whole lives, Grotto Pizza is just one of those traditions you come to expect, like the smell of sea air and the line at Gus & Gus Fried Chicken and horrible hangovers. If you’re one of those folks, this is the only Grotto Pizza location this side of the Chesapeake Bay. I’m sure there are ones with better service, but not within 150 miles. The Crofton mall on Saturday is a nightmarish hellscape of loons who have no idea how to drive. Enter at your own risk, because Maryland drivers gonna Maryland drive. Managed to snag a booth for four. Pretty sprawling interior with lots of room, an open kitchen, and a long extended bar with some pretty decent happy hour deals. And if you’re the sort of person who hates having to move their necks two inches to stare slackjawed at a television, you’re in luck. They’re all over the damned place. The booths in back for the screamier families have teevees ON the tables. The pizza is not for everyone; it’s not a NY Slice thin crust, but closer to a Ledo’s style buttery biscuity crust. Ordered the Death By Pepperoni pie and the kid ate the hell out of it. Nice level of spiciness and exactly what you’d find in the Delaware shops. Got a cheesesteak and, again, exactly how they serve elsewhere; nice shredded meat on a firm bun that won’t go soggy. Beer selection was just okay, but this place isn’t a brewpub so I wasn’t expecting much. They’ve got free popcorn in the bar section and the gelato was pretty decent. Nice that the background music was ‘70s and ‘80s classic rock, because the last time I heard Rush’s «Temples of Syrinx» was in the last century. So if you hate Dad Rock, you’ve been warned. For a Saturday lunch, the service was pretty spotty, but I’m more inclined to blame management for understaffing on a busy day. There was a pretty steady volume, but the two servers in our section were fairly overwhelmed. So if you come on a busy night, don’t expect instant service. I’m just glad she got the orders right and got us our food within half an hour; after that, you gotta try really hard to flag your server down. All in all, decent prices for an obscure regional style of pizza with a side of nostalgia. You could do a hell of a lot worse. If you don’t believe me, go to Cici’s.

The pepperoni and extra cheese pizza was really good. Of course you have to try the famous boardwalk fries. In my opinion, it’s the best pizza place in the area.

We decided to go out for pizza on a Sunday for a change and decided to try Grotto Pizza in Gambrills for the first time. It did not disappoint. Upon entering the restaurant, l thought l had entered a sports bar with all of the large screen TV’s placed throughout and banners of local sports teams. We ordered the Baker’s Special with pepperoni, sausage, peppers, extra cheese(sans the mushrooms). The pizza had a nice, flavorful crust that was perfectly cooked with a generous amount of toppings and the cheese was not greasy and dripping from the pizza like some others. They also had bolis, calzones, burgers, salads, wings and a gelato case with assorted varieties of the cold treat. Grotto Pizza did not fail to disappoint and l look forward to visiting it again when we are in the area.

First time coming here: Sunday(Father’s Day) at 11am as soon as they opened. Walked in and was greeted. Seated in a booth not to far from the bar. There’s a popcorn maker in the middle of the room which smells sooo good. The waiter we have is young and nice. Doesn’t smile much, but has checked on me through the course of my meal. Lots of pizza choices and calzones. I ordered mild wings, which are not spicy at all. Pretty good though still. Bread sticks are soft on top like I like. I got the Hawaiian pizza regular size. It is a white pizza so no sauce, though I feel like something is missing from it. Maybe if it had better topping ratio I would be in heaven since I can only taste cheese. I really like that this place has wifi. There’s a lot of TVs which I feel like is a distraction(16 in one space.) Prices are higher then I feel like they should be. Nothing amazing that would make me jump up and down to come back right away.

I decided to take the kid out for a Mommy-Daughter date night and she chose pizza. So we ventured in and ordered a cheese pizza with pepperoni. We also chose a order of cheese fries and I had the blue hen lemonade while we waited. We also had some of the free popcorn as well which was very good popcorn! Our food came and we were very happy with the pizza! It was very simple, yet very delicious! The blue hen lemonade was just what the doctor ordered! After it was all said and done, we even ordered some gelato to go! The young ladies at the counter were extremely friendly and even gave my daughter a miniature scoop of chocolate gelato’. I ordered the raspberry gelato with chocolate pieces! It was divine! My one complaint about Grotto is that it can be a bit pricey! This was an expensive pizza date, but it was worth it!

Grotto Pizza just outside DC? If you spent your summer’s growing up at the beach in Delaware you have Grotto sauce running in your blood. My friend’s family even told him not to marry his wife because she didn’t like Grotto, yeah they are divorced now. Grotto isn’t for everyone. But for those that know, it’s the best pizza ever to come out of an oven. I had to get a summer warm up in when I discovered Grotto was so close to DC. Two large cheese only pies and a Birch beer. 1.5 made the trip back to DC, maybe 1.25 by the time I got home. Dominic, you have made me so HAPPY. Now, just get one inside the district lines and I will be jumping for joy.

Stopped in the other evening and was all prepared to get a Grand Fiesta pizza. NOTHING is better than the Grand Fiesta pizza. My server suggested I try the Santa Fe boli. So I did. Man … was she right! Philly Style chopped all-white chicken, roasted corn & tomato salsa and pepperjack cheese; served with sour cream. ITWASMARVELOUS!!! If you try Grotto Pizza, remember that Ric said, get the Grand Fiesta pizza or the Santa Fe Boli.

I had never had a Grotto Pizza until today. Now that I have, it changes everything We’ve been waiting for this new location to open for months. This week on opening week the crowds have been checking them out. My first impression was they’ve done an amazing job on the renovation of the space from the previous tenant. Very friendly staff from the very first hello at the hostess stand. I was pretty lucky to have Dylan show up at my table as my server. This guy was on point and took care of every request I asked with a smile. The appetizer was a simple order of Beach Fries. Crispy and hot! Awesome! I ordered the 12 inch pepperoni and beef pizza, thinking I’d eat half for lunch and take the other half home. No way that would happen once the pizza arrived. It was far too good so I kept eating! It’s a damn good pizza. I’m already planning my next visit. Waugh Chapel has another winner!
