Can’t believe they’re closed. …A warm family restaurant as well as a known family restaurant in the community. Not sure what happened, but it’s strange that they are closed. Miss this restaurant, miss the warm friendly atmosphere. Craving Capazzoli’s !! Just an FYI… I’ve been going to Veneto’s since you closed. Can’t help to think you owe your regular customers an explanation!!! Anyways, good luck to the Capazzoli family. REALLYMISSINGYOURCHICKENPICCATA!

Capozzoli’s gets a solid«eh» from me. When we walked up, we noted a blues/classic rock band playing so we thought it’d be a fun evening. The décor is standard industrial Italian: exposed piping and brick, white bulb lights, paper over the table cloths. When we arrived, we were told it’d only be about 5 minutes to be seated, in actuality, it was 30 minutes. On the plus side, I got to stand there and watch them make pizza, which was fun to see the different options in the making. Finally, we were seated and served. The first basket of garlic bread was cold and uninspired, but as we started to eat(and get a little less cranky) we received a new basket that was fresh, or at least warm. The garlic bread got us really excited about the meal. The band had long since gone on break, so we were stuck watching the muted My Cousin Vinny over the bar. Service was slow, but we ordered an Alfredo dish and a Marinara one. Both sauces were bland, and the prices for the meals was too expensive, especially when you had to add on extra money for protein. The band finally came back, but by then my meal left me disappointed and I only wanted to go home. I might call in for a pizza some time, just to give it another chance, but an Italian place can’t live on good garlic bread alone. Without some flavor to savor, there’s no point in going back. Unfortunate since it looked so promising, but you can’t come back from canned sauces without revamping the whole kitchen.

Quite possibly the worst pizza I have ever had. I should have gone to little caesers and got their five dollar pizza’s and went home. The crust was really hard, there was more sauce than cheese. I always order black olives, pepperoni and jalapeños on my pizza, and on this one all I could taste was the jalapeños. Now, if you’re a true fatty like myself, when you eat pizza you like to dip, or drown your pizza in a delicious ranch. Typically offered by most pizza and well any restaurant now days for free. But, not this place, they charge 50 cents for ranch, okay thats fine, but only if what they brought us was actually ranch. It appeared to be more like ranch flavored water, it was so runny it was impossible to eat on pizza. Or anything. On top of the fact that the pizza was horrible, the service was iffy as well. Our waiter, whatever his name was would come and go. More going, then coming. And, there was a random moment when he just stood by us and talked about the show«1000 Ways to Die» and how much he loved it. Now, the one thing I give this place credit for, is my friend ordered the fettucini alfredo and that was delicious!

We got take out a few weeks ago, and it was REALLY disappointing. To start, I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza… I do NOT recommend ordering pizza by the slice here. They took a piece of cheese pizza, slapped a few pepperoni’s on it, and then REHEATED it so it was basically about as tasty as smearing sauce on some cardboard. I also got a ceasar salad, which had several disgusting pieces of lettuce in it — and the dressing was sub-par. My husband got a gorgonzola cheese salad with panchetta and LOVED it. I guess it just wasn’t my night — but I definitely don’t think it’s worth more than two stars.

I reviewed Capozzoli’s several months ago and have been back since so this review is several months over due. My first dining experience was less than mediocre. I did come back again with my family and was greeted and recognized by the owner. We were seated and were waited on with grace and not hovered over as if to make amends for our last visit. But, I have to appreciate that they remembered our firxt experience and did everything to make it right this time. The food was good and we received large portions as they are known for. Our waitress was a member of the family and she made sure we were covered. I am planning to go back again soon to enjoy the food because it is good. It’s fresh and well made in their family’s style of cooking. It’s clear that the diners who eat here enjoy the food and the atmosphere. I saw many acquaintances that night who also have been there several times and enjoy the food. All those people can’t be wrong!

Woke up at 2 pm, went there around 4 for my breakfast/unch/dinner. The bread was so delicious! The house wine was great, but didn’t pair well with my spaghetti znd meatball. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly. It’s suprising that only few restaurants make pasta al dente. The portion was so big that i have no room for desert. Definitely will go back to try more dishes!

FOOD: If you like clams, I would HIGHLYRECOMMEND the Linguine Clam dish! You have the option of red or white sauce, I went with red. On a huge white plate, there was fat layer of the linguine pasta, then on top of that there was a thick layer of clam meat! Then around the outter edges of the plate there were tons of clams inside the shell. I was all clammed up when I saw these clams, if you can imagine! FREE: They give you this yummy bread. It did get a bit salty, but I still really liked it a lot! The top layer is crispy and flavorful and the inside of the bread was very soft and fresh! PRICES: Seemed very reasonable considering the massive portions! They definitely serve more than your local Olive Garden. SERVICE: The owner is sooo sweet! He just has such a big heart! He walks around and greets people and will even give you a hug! I mean he could probably just sit at home and relax, yet he chooses to come to work and love on people. Just for him, I would love to come back all the way up in Oceanside! AMBIANCE: Very, very spacious and clean. I love how the walls have brick and there’s a huge wine rack along the wall. Look forward to coming back! LOCATION: From 5 freeway, take 78 and head EAST. Exit El Camino Real and head north. There’s a shopping center immediately to your right, just as you exit. Turn RIGHT into that shopping center. The restaurant is on that very corner!

I wish I lived closer to Oceanside, I would be eating here weekly! Family owned and operated, not too pricey at all and amazing food. We started with Pepperoni Bread holy crap was this stuff good. A very simple Idea but they did it right. Just garlic bread with cheese and pepperoni on it but it was delish! Shared the shrimp, pesto, garlic pizza. One bite and I was in love this pizza was amazing. Perfect amount of each ingredient I could not stop eating it. Left fat and happy, definitely going back when ever I am in the area, the place is way too good to pass up. Friendly atmosphere, great food, and a good selection of beer and wine.

I ordered the Veal Piccata. It was my first time eating veal meat. It was delectable despite the lacking of some ingredients the menu had described. According to the menu, Three Veal Medallions«Scallopini Style» in a white wine, butter, garlic, lemon sauce with capers, artichoke hearts, and mushrooms. Served with Penne«Al Panna»(Cream Sauce). The lacking ingredients was the capers & artichoke hearts. For dessert, we had the Snow White Tartufo. It was okay. Frozen like a rock. They either forgot to put strawberries or they ran out of strawberries. According to the menu, «Decadent vanilla ice cream with a blanket of white chocolate on a bed of vanilla bean cream and strawberries.» We had reservations for 8:45PM. We didn’t get seated 15 minutes later. Mainly a first come first serve basis, since the group waiting before us got seated first. So, that’s my reason for the 4 stars.

My husband and I were here for date night last week, and this place was good. Service was nice and friendly, though a little slow at times(they seemed to be short-staffed the night we were there). We ordered the fried cheese appitizer. It was amazing. Hubby ordered some veal dish(I don’t remember which one) and I ordered the fettucini caponatta. His dish was excellent. Mine was ok. It was a little bitter, which was definitely not the taste I was going for. I guess I should have stuck to my guns and gone with the baked ziti. Oh well. His dish and the app were so good that I’m ignoring my less-than-awesome choice and we’ll definitely go back. I’ll just steer clear of the caponatta next time.(And, as a sidenote, it wasn’t so horrible that I didn’t eat it all… I took about half of it home and enjoyed the meal twice more in the next couple of days.) Getting there tip: if you’re coming from the 5 like we were, while travelling on the 78, take the left at Douglas and the restaurant will be on the right. Google told us to go down to the next street and make a bunch of lefts, which was annoying.

Such a cute place. The service was good. We tried the Chicken Capozzoli, Baked Ziti, and a slice of pepperoni pizza. I’m looking forward to trying other things(especially chocolate gelato and maybe a whole pizza). I like that they’re on .

Italian American at its best. Owner greets you with a hug… family members run the place… service is warm & friendly. Highly recommend: –Shaved Apple Salad(Spinach, Gorgonzola, Thin Sliced Apples, Candied Walnuts, Proscuitto) –Veal Piccata –Chicken Capozzolli(chicken, proscuitto, mozarella, artichoke, mushroom, wine sauce w/side of penne pesto) –Baked Ravioli Parmesan Saw some tables with Pizza… and it looked real good. Huge portions. Great Atmosphere: High ceilings, Exposed brick walls. Three seating areas: Outdoors, Large Entry Room, Back Room. I preferred the Large Entry Room. Will definitely return.

Ate here whilst a massive rain storm came in. reviews said it was good and i trusted them. I’m glad I did — it was GOODFOOD. Pizza was just what we needed to keep us warm — had one of the ‘all in’ style pizzas. Finished with a canolli. It was fresh, but just not something that I like the flavor of. Much prefer chocolate…

My wife and I really enjoy this place. Charlie(the owner) is such a nice gentleman. He greats us with a hug and usually chats us up. Seriously recommend the Italian salad and the pizza pin wheels. I’m usually stuffed with the great bread and salad so I end up getting 1 slice of pizza and sharing half my wife’s meal. I really want to try their tira-misu and tartufo but never have room, not even close. I love that they have Stone IPA and Oceanside Ale-works Strong.

I just took my family to Capozzoli’s tonight for a big birthday dinner. All of us loved it and kept saying so all night. I’d been there once before and just had a sausage sandwich. But I could tell immediately from the unique and spicy marinara on the sandwich that this place was special. So even though Oceanside was a little bit of a drive(35 minutes) from Del Mar, I talked the family into it. My Uncle made a joke about the place when he saw the«we sell pizza by the slice» sign outside. But once inside, he quickly said he liked the place. It’s a traditional, family run place that has lots of personality and pride. The food is just amazing. Our server told us not to ask what is good and confidently told us that everything was really good and that she had no favorites. I found this to be a very bold statement, but was impressed with her confidence. I’d soon find out that she was not exaggerating. Everything, and I mean everything was outstanding. I ordered the flat iron steak in a gorgonzola sauce with scampi. Normally I wouldn’t order a steak at an Italian place, but I had a good vibe. It was sooooooo good. But I’m gonna have to hit the gym hard this week after that guilty gorgonzola sauce. My Uncle and sister each had a different style of Veal(Picatta, and Cardinale). Both were top notch. Dad had Chicken Cachitore and Step Monster(just kidding) had Eggplant Parmagiane. Like I said earlier, everything was great. Oh the app’s were insane also. The calamari was as good as it gets. The Brushetta was cooked(the bread) to perfection unlike most over done places. The mussels and clams were my favorite, and the Caesar salad was fresh and delicious. The cannolis for dessert were worth the exta time I’ll owe at the gym. The only thing that bugs me is I still don’t know what the pizza tastes like, and it will probably be a contender for the best around. Next time for sure.

Okay… here’s one off my bookmarked list. One of the guys I work with, brings in their pizza(like 4 pies) every other Sunday when we work. So I’ve had their food, but have never been to the restaurant… until tonight. As you arrive, you can smell the garlic out in the parking lot before you even enter the building(that’s a good thing… lol). The atmosphere is very homey on the inside. And just like it’s been told in other reviews I’ve read… Charlie met us at the door and gave us all a hug. We were kind-of lucky in that when we arrived, there weren’t many people inside. So we were seated right away. Shortly after we arrived though, the crowds started to show up at the door. The food was pretty awesome. I expected it to be pretty good, and I wasn’t disappointed. I had the Chicken Marsala. The chicken was great, but I wasn’t too fond of the white sauce on the penne. My wife had the Eggplant Parmesan with spaghetti and marinara sauce which was also very good. My son had the Veal Carnival; it was his first time eating veal… and he proclaimed it his«new favorite meat»…lol. We walked out the door stuffed(we did get some Canolli’s to go though… lol). The only things I didn’t like were… — the white paper on the tablecloths(I like the checkered red and white linen tablecloths, but the paper has to go). — service was a little slow, but tolerable. The waitstaff were very friendly. — food is a little pricy even though the portions are pretty big.

This is one of my family’s favorite restaurants. The Capozzoli family is friendly and inviting. They do seafood the best, their shrimp is amazing. The spicy seafood pasta is delicious. Try the Chicken Capozzoli. Although they also have great pizza and pasta! They make lasagna on Sundays only, and it is the best lasagna I have ever had.

Went to Capozzoli’s for the first time tonight. Us 5 ‘girls’ had such a good time, we missed our movie and stayed till closing. The thing that most impressed me was that we weren’t rushed off, but were waited upon till the minute we got up to leave. It was comfortable, homey and inviting. The garlic bread was the clincher. I’ll go back just for that! I ate PENNEMILANO. Actually, I shared it with my friend and was given an extra plate for no extra cost. The sauce was creamy and really flavorfull and, to me, the perfect consistency. Yummy! The Tiramisu was very good — perfect for a very warm September night. The gelato was yummy too. There wasn’t a full bar. Just beer(by the bottle and on tap) and various wines. Having the owner wander through the tables and chatting was so awesome. I love seeing this. Everyone has commented on his hugs too. I don’t mind it a bit. That’s what we So. Cal. people do! It’s the warmth that shows their dedication to each and every customer. I’ll be back.
