Hammerheads Bar & Grill

Such terrible service. And for some crooked reason, got charged two different transactions on my card. Called to speak with a manager. Never received a call back. Check your bank account after leaving this place, peeps. Waiter/​waitress might be tipping themselves more than what you wrote down.

We arrived to hammerheads around 5 or 6PM. We were seated by a untactful hostess, did not welcome us or tell us to enjoy our meals. Just put the menus on the table and left.
Speaking of tables. The two our party was sat at were filthy. They were sticky and and dirty. The entire restaurant has a sticky dirty feel. Our waitress was pretty good, about average. Our drinks came out fast, no complaints there. Our food came out fast as well. Although I have heard other people complain about wait times. You have to take into account that we came here in mid September after the vacation crowd had passed. So we may have been experiencing an outlier of service.
The food was actually really good! I had a crab cake sandwich and tater tots. I was impressed, not the greatest crab cake I have ever had. Still way above average.
The bar needs to work on it customer service and cleanliness. Other than that it was a positive experience for my party.

So this review is not on the food, but on the poor customer experience.
My friends and I were staying down in Ocean City for an extended weekend. On our first night there (⁸⁄₂₁) we decided to go to Hammerheads. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 kids in total. When we got there we were told it would be a 30 minute wait, which was totally acceptable. Coming from NYC that is a very respectable wait time for a table for such a big group on a Friday night.
We were finally called about 20 to 25 minutes in to the wait. As we start to head inside we were told to wait for a second. After about a minute of waiting at the entrance we were told that our table (a table for 6 adults + 2 kids) had been taken by a couple (2 people) who had been at the bar supposedly and all of a sudden decided they wanted a table and just sat down at our table. When we asked the hostess why they didn’t explain to the other people how that table was for a larger group that had been waiting her reply to us was «There is nothing we can do once someone sits at a table.»
ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
Nothing you can do? It was as simple as explaining to those people how that table was set-​up for a larger group and that they would arrange to get a table for 2 momentarily.
So now not only were we out of a table, but we were also told it would be at least another 30 minutes until they could get another table ready for us. At this point it was already close to 9pm and we were not about to wait until close to 9:30 to get seated.
I can’t believe that a restaurant would allow this to happen. Common sense is a larger group will order more… meaning more revenue for the restaurant. Instead this place I guess doesn’t care.
It really was a horrible experience and I can guarantee that when we go back to Ocean City next year we will not even considering going here because of the lack of consideration and the poor customer service.

Strolling on the boardwalk we decided to try this place. I have to say, big mistake. The service was very slow and they messed up the order. The tuna was over cooked yet somehow came out cold. The specialty drink that we ordered had almost no alcohol in it. All in all i say skip this place and find a better restaurant on the boardwalk.

Though there are very few bartenders that I’ve encountered that were as cold and unapologetically stone-​faced as the young woman I ordered from, she made me an excellent grapefruit and vodka; freshly squeezed grapefruits and an almost lethal amount of vodka.
Just the way I like it.
The bar is very bright and eccentrically decorated. Most of the tables are located on a mini fenced in beach area, and they have consistent daily 5 dollar shots of Patron.
They actually market themselves as the «Home of the 5 dollar Patron shot.» I like your style sir.
Buckets can only be filled with Corona, which doesn’t really affect me that much, but my friends were a bit nonplussed.
That didn’t stop us from visiting the bar 2 times in the 3 days we were in Ocean City though.

I had the seafood showder and it was more than great after that I had crab cake nothing remarkable and my friend got a chicken sandwich with malted cheese it tasted more like any dinner food and it was served with this bbq potatoes chips nothing difference it seemed that they took it from any bag the flavor too artificial

First off I would have gave 5 but there were a few quirks #1if you are on what we call the fluffy side do not try sitting in the out door bar chairs you will not fit #2 wrong type of cheese used for the cheese fries a Velveeta or mozzarella would work out better #3 service could have been a lot better not saying it was all bad but something that could use a little tweaking. food was great and the price was typical of OCMD during the peak season for 5 of us $ 70.00 food and drinks

Stopped here for a drink on a recent trip to Ocean City. Drinks were good, service was excellent. Prices were a bit on the high side.

A wonderful beach bar and restaurant. I wasn’t expecting much except big (expensive) drinks and mediocre bar food. I was WRONG! This great beachy place right on the Boardwalk at 10^th Street, has umbrella tables overlooking the Boardwalk and beautiful ocean. Day or night the view is wonderful. They have a large assortment of great tropical beach drinks (not too expensive) and a great collection of burgers and seafood — all cooked perfectly. I had the Hammerhead seafood steamer bucket ($ 25) and not only was it cooked perfectly, it was seasoned just right. And they gave me more than was promised. The waitresses are all friendly and it’s a good mix of locals, summer workers, and tourists. Definitely go here.

Great place to sit and have a beer and people-​watch. Skip the steamed shrimp

Four of us ate there for lunch. We had the steamer pots and the fish tacos and everything was very good. We also has their ice teas (alcoholic) and they were good. Definitely will go back for lunch!

Skip the mediocre food and have another beer…

Great location, great menu, very cool bar set up, awesome ocean view so why the two stars?
Beautiful summer day and the restaurant wasn’t busy.
We waited a long time. for everything. To be seated, we waited a long time. To order cocktails, we waited a long time. To get the cocktails, we waited a long time. To place our order, we waited a long time. To get our appetizers, we waited a long time. To get our water refilled, we waited a long time. To get our food, we waited a long time. To get more cocktails and beer refills, we waited a long time.
We waited a long time while watching the staff kick back and joke and play and have a wonderful time. Maybe we should have screamed or jumped up and down or waived ALL of our arms to get some service but that just isn’t our thing. Our thing is a serious Unilocal Review, and then we go somewhere else and spend a boat load of money and have a great time and then go there again and again and again. We don’t even mind waiting to get in to spend a ton of money. As long as there’s good, food, ambiance and service. Two out of three doesn’t do it for us.

Mmmm hands down my favorite place on the boardwalk! The staff is friendly and attentive, the food comes out fast! The dining experience is nice, as you sit on the boardwalk you can watch everyone walk by and also have a great view of the ocean. The rum buckets and shark tanks are a too off at $ 15! And not very large (they say 32oz but I don’t know…) and weren’t very strong. The crabby grilled cheese is fantastic! I crave it!

This place ruined my first day in Ocean City!!!
The pulled pork was dry and burnt! Inedible!
Also, the tables were GROSS. Covered in filth, flies for days.
Had to hunt down a waitress to re-​order more garbage. :o (
To their credit, the chicken tenders were okay. But they’re chicken tenders.
Nonetheless, we’ll never come back here again!

Food was horrible, prices way too high and service less than mediocre.
I don’t have high expectations on the boardwalk generally but popcorn would have been better than risking our health to eat here.

No one in our party ordered alcohol, but all 5 of us were satisfied with our food and the service. The waitress was friendly and our food was brought out quickly. I had the crab legs and they were very good! I was surprised that for $ 20 it didn’t come with any other side dish except corn on the cob, but it was still a very satisfying dinner.
I would go back again next time I’m in the area.

The raw oysters were awesome. Sweet. Not chewy. Awesome flavor. Only problem is it took 30 mins to get them. I’m no Jim Levy, but I don’t think it takes long to make raw oysters.
Additionally, we had to go to the bar to get our 2^nd round of drinks. Got our «shark tank» when we first sat down, but got left behind after that. Service was not really all that.

Stopped in for a beer and saw some coozies hanging above the bar. Asked the bar tender how much they were and she said they were free if I’d write a positive Unilocal review. Never used Unilocal so I created an acct and wrote a brief review. Showed the bar tender what I wrote and she said that wasn’t enough so she wrote her own review on my phone. After 20 minutes of trying to post the review she gave up and she refused to give me my coozi. Pretty pathetic if they have to bribe you for a positive review.

I only came here because of the rum punch bucket and the $ 5 patron shots.
Right off of the boardwalk in thee good OC. Fairly busy at the bar and the small restaurant portion.
Pretty excited about the rum bucket. Came in two sizes small and large. It tasted well, kind of like a creepa. Tasted like juice and then it hit ya! BAM! You could take the bucket home if you wanted, it showed you how to make more drinks.
Can’t beat a $ 5 patron shot…
