Mr. Pickles

Mr. Pickles has gotten a lot better with their service. The sandwich makers are now much more efficient and work together to get customers through the lines much quicker.

I was hesitant to patron this location in fear that it wouldn’t be consistent with the antioch establishment. However I was drawn to the aesthetics and warm smiles of the employees. I always request to have my bread heated and my meat n cheese warmed. I always get the build ur own sandwich with turkey, salami and provolone cheese. Oh yeah and extra garlic sauce. This place is fairly big compared to the other locations. I would go again. When I’m in town.

Friendly staff and great food. Diana helped me and she was super nice. I just went in this location for the first time and I loved it. Found a groupon deal and decided to give it a shot.

Go to the Mr pickles off Balfour, way better atmosphere and very nice employees… the employees here are slow and act like your invisible. They’re music is annoying as hell too. not everyone’s into rap with suggestive language kids.
Also this place doesn’t offer half sandwiches… but they do off Balfour ;)

Delicious sandwiches (Turkey and pepper jack on marble rye) and perhaps more important, Rachell, who most recently made my sandwich, knows how to follow proper safety & sanitation techniques. She had to answer the phone in the middle of making my sandwich. She took her glove off to answer, and when she hung up she threw both used gloves away, washed her hands and put on new gloves. It’s probably sad that I’m impressed by someone doing what is expected of a food handler, but let’s face it: most places don’t take this stuff seriously. I hope I can get Rachell every time I get a sandwich here. Free cookie is fun too. It is pricey for a sandwich, but I find myself coming here often enough anyway.

Been here twice. Once when they first opened and there were ten teens taking ten minutes to make ten sandwiches. I got kinda annoyed when I was told my sandwich could be toasted. Despite that, It was yummy so I returned a few months later hoping they would be more efficient at putting meat and veggies in bread.
Nope. Waited 25 min during peak lunch hour in line and waiting for my sandwich.
It was a great sandwich, I just had to eat it while driving since there was no time to sit and enjoy it. Next time I will go full so I can get hungry in line.

Good sandwiches. On the pricey side. Slow customer service! I don’t understand why it takes 3 people to make 1 persons sandwiches.

Great sandwiches! Super fresh ingredients. Staff could use more training– customer service, getting tables cleaned, etc. I was there on a super slow day with 3 staff and every one of the tables was visibly dirty.

Okay, I will admit that I don’t eat sandwiches often, you know carbs and all. Anyways, we do love Mr. Pickles, so if you are gonna fall off the wagon, make it a good sandwich! I have been stopping by this latest location since it opened and it now seems to be humming along. I have gone with long lines, short lines, no lines. No matter what the staff is pleasant and have always given me what I ordered. The food is fresh and delicious just like I expect it to be!
I plan on racking up those Pickle points with their sandwich club. And they’ll even give you a cookie!

Very disappointing for a Mr. Pickles! I ordered a BLAT and the husband ordered tuna — when my husband got home we discovered no lettuce on either sandwich, very little vegetables at all on either sandwich. Tuna was the fishiest tuna we’ve ever had still waiting to see if it was bad, after 2 bites he threw it away. I guess it’s back to Subway, they give you vegetables!

I’ve always been a fan, and I used to go to their Antioch and Brentwood locations quite a bit. I was super excited to see a location in Oakley. I’ve been twice so far and both times were a good experience. Friendly staff, short wait time, delicious food. I can’t think of any complaints.

I wish i can Zero stars to this location. Very nasty staff. Young lady who was sweating never washed her hands and start making my sandwich. Gross. Yucky. Go to some other sandwich place. If you want to be sick this should be your favorite destination.

Just picked up sandwiches for dinner. Employees were very friendly and attentive. Ordered 2 of them, both very tasty. High quality. Love the bread!!! I had the Rueben and my son had turkey. We will be going back. it seems they have the kinks worked out!

Mr Pickles has always been a favorite of mine. Food is always good, and the free cookie always a treat.

I LOVE MR. PICKLE’S!!! We ordered 4 sandwiches online and all were exactly how we asked for them. I was in and out super quick and the service was great! I even called on my way added a 5^th sandwich to the order which was perfect also. I am SO excited that they opened this location!

Complete shit hole with bad service and flavorless food. If 0 stars was an option I’d choose that.

Stood in line for over 15 minutes and gave up and left. There were 6 people working there and only 2 people ahead of us and still no one could get to us or even acknowledge us. Will mostly likely be going to Brentwood where they give good customer service and know what they are doing.

We have gone twice now, and out of 5 sandwiches, 3 have been messed up. Including 2 that were completely the wrong sandwiches somehow. I went in last Tuesday evening and said no tomatoes on my husband’s Italian, there were tomatoes. Fine, new place, new staff, they can be picked off. Went in yesterday at noon and ordered 3 sandwiches; a Golden gate on sliced wheat, another Italian on sweet, and my daughter had a simple ham n cheese on sweet. We got an older dark haired woman who wasn’t the friendliest, but not rude. I told her about the tomatoes, then ordered the sandwich. When she asked what to put on it, I jokingly said everything but tomatoes, and she snapped «no tomatoes got it». I asked for the Italian dressing on the side (husband works nights and this was for his lunch). I ordered the golden gate, and declined it to be heated, and she kept looking at the board above her head. Another woman stepped in and made my daughters sandwich, the only one not messed up btw. I grabbed a potato salad and walked to the counter and had a great chat with either the owner or manager about new staff and how as they learn they sometimes make miatakes. He made sure we got the Italian dressing before we left. Got home, my sandwich was not the golden gate. And because I wanted it plain thinking it was teriyaki chicken, I had a dry sliced meat sandwich with American cheese and I believe salami? I had to put on mayo and mustard at home to eat it. I was aggravated, but again, let it slide. Husband got home this morning and I asked how his sandwich was, and he said, «don’t know what it was, but it’s not the Italian.» Now I’m a bit angry. I declined my reciept which was stupid on my part, I just hope I the older man remembers me when I go in today to tell him. It’s chaotic in there, new people, I get it. But it’s not rocket science, and to make two completely wrong sandwiches back to back is just not right. If I go back to order it will be after they have had some time to adjust and learn a rhythm. And I will not leave without checking my sandwiches thoroughly since I can’t trust them yet. 2 stars because I believe it will come together, and because the older man at fhe register was so nice.
I went in this morning and the manager/​owner was beyond awesome. He went above and beyond and so I’ve changed it to 5 stars!!!

No defined line for us to get into. My daughter was like «meh» i could have made this myself. She is 9. we’ll check it out once it gets established. They’ve got some work to do on training their staff.
