«the number you dialed is not a working number”-recording i thought i saw a sign saying this place will be «fresh thai kitchen» soon.

The dwen jang jjigae here is really salty. I’ve been here like 5 times. hoping that it’d be good THIS time. but almost every time, I’ve been disappointed… I don’t think I’ll be going there again… unless my co – workers force me to.

Moving from LA to the Bay Area, the biggest culinary challenge has been finding darn good Korean food. The quest for good Korean food brought me here. My bro-in-law works around here and we were meeting up for a bite before the Warriors game. I was worried and skeptical as the name was Soju Bang. I mean, that is just way too cute of a name for a Korean restaurant. The kalbi was decent, at least it wasn’t lathered in sauce(will do in a pinch), the kimchee soup was just okay(hurt a little the next morning), and the spicy chicken wings were more like Chinese food(never order what the lady says is popular, unless the patrons are predominately Korean). The lady serving us was very friendly and helpful. I definitely give an extra star for her service with a smile. I think she is the owner with her husband, but I’m not sure. Oh and the namesake, the soju? Can’t go wrong with soju. Soju bang bang bangalicious! The search continues…

You can’t compare the places in the city when writing about food. I’ve eaten at this place twice. Gal-bi by far is my favorite dish. And with the side dishes they served you. I mean lunch specials is just that. But for the amount of food you get, its filling!

Decent, not great… for the area I think this is somewhat acceptable. When compared to places in the city or even San Jose and other enclaves of Korean goodness there really is no contest. No egg came with our Sun Doo Bu, semi-decent pan chan etc… Eh — sad thing is, I’ll probably be back regardless out of sheer necessity to consume Korean in this neighborhood.
