Enjoyed the pepperoni pizza a lot. Finally tried after about 3 years in the area. While it is kind of pricey, I thought the quality was worth the cost, though I would probably not order it too often, if I ate pizza a lot. Great crispy crust and all ingredients were top notch. I picked up because I always want my pizza fresh out of the oven so haven’t experience delivery issues as others have. Definitely need a large for 3 people which will run you $ 21 after tax, but consider it like your eating at a nice restaurant, even though you’re taking it home.

I am not usually one to go out of my way to complain or to write reviews, as I know and understand that mistakes happen, and I am usually forgiving. But, mistakes can be corrected, and this place apparently doesn’t learn from them. Tonight was the last time I will give my business to this restaurant. After the last two orders I placed were either«lost» or took 20 minutes longer than the time given for pick-up, I expected that my order tonight would go through. After all, how is it possible for a restaurant to screw up your order 3 times in a row? Well, it is. Since the time they give for pickup orders is inaccurate(and they know this, no idea why they don’t just change the time on the website or give people a realistic idea of when to come in and avoid angry customers), I waited an extra 10 minutes before going in to pick it up. As was the case for the last two times I came in, I was told that the order would take«5 more minutes.» So here we go again. I wait 5 minutes, then ask them for an update. The person disappears for about 10 more minutes while I’m standing idly by waiting for the pizza that was supposed to be ready 15 minutes ago. Finally, someone comes back and tells me that the kitchen has«lost» one of the pizzas and that I’ll have to wait another 15 minutes. At this point, it’s almost comical. Now, I get it, mistakes happen. But the same mistake has happened now 3 times in a row, and this time I suspect it’s on purpose since I had complained to them(politely, mind you) on the last two occasions that their pizzas were very late. Since I ordered online all 3 times, they know who I am. I tell them there is no way they screwed up the order for the same person this many times. There is no apology – instead, the manager says«why would we do that?» Great question! Perhaps your kitchen staff is passive aggressive, since this is the third time you’ve messed up. I tell him this is ridiculous and that I don’t buy it that this is just coincidental, that he’s lost a customer, and that I’ll be posting this online so other people don’t get treated the same way and have to waste their time with these people. All in all, these people are irresponsible, unapologetic and unprofessional. I’ve had to ask for a discount each time I’ve gone in – not something I want to do – and they have given me some sort of discount each time, so that is one positive thing about this place. What I don’t understand is how or why they aren’t learning from their mistakes. I guess proving a point somehow that you shouldn’t complain about wait times is more important than losing money. I’ve ordered from many other pizza places in my life and have never had this type of issue this many times in a row. I gave them several opportunities to prove themselves, and they have failed each time. DONOTORDER from here. Do not give these people your money, unless you want to deal with this kind of crap every time you order. Again, I am a patient person and give people and places the benefit of the doubt – this was just absolutely absurd. Find another place, this place has no idea what it’s doing and is not being run by any competent person.

The food is always great. If you’re eating in, I would expect to wait a while since the food is fresh and made to order. There was a minor issue with my order but after talking to who I believe was the manager(younger guy with exotic tattoos) I was pretty satisfied. I could tell he had a lot going on but he was extremely polite and courteous and continued to direct his team in the right direction. I could sense the family atmosphere in this business!

I keep coming back here because it’s literally next door to my house, not because it’s great pizza… this is the third time ordering a pizza and asking for«well done» cause they can’t seem to cook a pizza all the way through and I still got a raw pizza. It’s unfortunate that it’s so hard to follow a simple request. I will have to take my pizza business elsewhere.

It takes FOREVER for delivery. I just learned that if you call in the order, rather than order online… you’ll get a more accurate delivery time!

The pizza was serviceable. The reason I am giving one star: I came here with a friend’s 8 yo son and we ordered a kids portion of buttered pasta… $ 5.25. $ 6+ if you get 4 pieces of ravioli. The portion was so small that it wouldn’t have fed my 4 yo. We pointed this out to the waitress who said«it’s already measured out. Sorry. If you want more pasta you have to order and pay for another portion». Then they were so slow with second order we canceled it. They are usually super family-friendly…but they also mentioned they didn’t have any of the usual dough they hand to kids. «Sorry, all the dough is being used» what? In a pizza restaurant? I hope that the $.25 worth of pasta was worth this negative review. Honestly, there are enough competing local pizza places which are just as good… And that’s where we’ll take our business.

Great pizza. Just make sure you don’t ask for home delivery. I live a mile away and they said one hour to one and half for a delivery which I figured on a Friday night is maybe ok. When they can’t calculate delivery times and it takes two hours I give up.

Good crust but don’t tell people wait for pick-up is 30 min when it’s really an hour. Not coming back to this location but will try others.

The sourdough crust rocks. Nice neighborhood place with delivery but I prefer to pickup and talk to the people there.

Overpriced pizza, slow delivery, and rude staff. Bummer that this is the local pizza joint. I’m going to have to look elsewhere for better pizza and service.

I’m so disappointed, this place is so close and in our neighborhood it is sad that I have to report a negative review. We have ordered many times and 80% of time it is wrong. This time our delivery order didn’t show and when I called after an hour of waiting(we live 1 mile away) they explained that our order was taken as a carry out instead of delivery– they then said it wasn’t their fault despite us giving them our address and sent a delivery car with our dinner. Clearly our food sat under a heat lamp and the pesto on my pasta was so past it had separated– see photo. No apologies or discount. This is the last time in a string of screw up orders, I’m not usually one to post a review but this is ridiculous.

YAY! I’M A FAN! Sourdough pizza! Love it! I’ve only ordered the same pizza, black olive and pepperoni but it’s soooo good! Can’t beat the crust!

I’m not quite sure why I keep trying to give these people my hard-earned money. Each time I call, there is loads of attitude and a long wait for basic foods. I called Pastino’s down the street and nothing but piping hot pizza in 20 mins. I want to like this place and I actually did. But the recent managerial updates have been disappointing. Please fix it.

Red Boy is the place to go either for home delivery or at the restaurant. The pizza’s crust is the test for all pizzerias and Red Boy passes with kudos. The salads are tasty, fresh and almost a meal unto themselves. Great management, friendly servers and a nice place to hang out. Check out the OPD cars at all hours — always a good sign of a good place to eat.

Great pizza and great crust. Not the kinda crust that is doughy but really good stuff. They must have learned from the restaurants in North Beach in SF because Red Boy’s Pizza is just as good. I usually order some kinda of combination — chicken, sausage, artichoke hearts, put everything on it with a salad. Four kinds of beer on tap plus bottles, I usually order the Stella Artois. Very accommodating service. The waiter /waitress always come back to pour water and see if you need anything else. I also like the fact that they have the flat screen on with the sports. Go Oakland A’s, wait Go Giants too! I’m definetly a frequent customer…

This is the best pizza place in my hood that delivers. They’re kinda pricey but worth. I would never order from Domino and their ilk(even though they’re much cheaper) because their pizzas taste processed. Red Boy is a small Mom and Pop operation with just a few stores… and you can taste it. I think the main thing that puts Red Boy pizzas over the top is the sourdough crust, yum! Average delivery 40 minutes.

My stepdad got paid on Fridays. So every Friday night was Red Boy Pizza night, aka, The Best Night of the Week. He and my mom had the planning skills of an old boot, so our broke-ass Thursday night dinner was generally a tiny portion of cream of refrigerator casserole — which I’m quite sure made our weekly Red Boy dinners even more delicious. That factor, plus the many moons that have passed and many varieties of pizzas I have eaten since had me intrigued when I moved near this Oakmore Red Boy Pizza location. Truth be told, I was really surprised they’re still around, much less in my new neighborhood. Would I still like it? Was it really that good to begin with? I had to have the brothers over for a pizza reunion. They say your sense of smell is your strongest memory trigger. I think taste is a close second. And when I bit into this pizza, I suddenly felt like I was wearing braces and leg warmers. So maybe I’m a little biased. But the bruthas and I thought the pizza was really, really good. It’s not exactly a thin crust, but it’s yummy and chewy and you can tell that they’ve got a super hot, super good oven. The salads were fresh and hearty, the delivery was polite and fast. All-in-all, it was a delicious time travel experience. These guys are still around for a a very good reason, and I feel very lucky to be within walking distance(OK, more likely delivery distance). Just another reason I love my new town!

What an amazing Pizza! If you thought you were«just gonna go grab some pizza for dinner» think again. This pizza is amazing. Cooked in a stone oven at 600 degrees it really doesn’t get much better than this. Wait, I stand Corrected. It does. Because it came in a Heart Shape to support the American Heart Association; pretty sure when you can eat a cute, delicious, AND charity conscious pizza, all is good in the world. Located in a great area of Oakland that has plenty of parking(meter), a fun vibe, and a family atmosphere.

Solid gourmet pizza place. I went for there for dinner recently, I’ve driven by there a few times and felt like trying it once. The interior of the place is clean and nice for bringing groups. There was a large tv there where we watched the 49ers game. I was with one other person and we ordered a 14 inch Large(They have S, M, L, and XL sizes) BBQ Chicken Pizza, a Caesar Salad(with homemade dressing), and an order of the Cheesy Garlic Bread. — They specialize in Sourdough Crusts, I’m not sure if I’ve had that before or not but it pretty good and a little bit more unique than some of chain pizza places. — Their prices are probably higher than other most pizza places in Oakland(The pizza was $ 22.65), but it seems like they use fresher ingredients and herbs which make a big difference. They were taking a bunch of delivery and pick-up orders while there were some other tables seated when we were there and the staff turned our order around in a reasonable amount of time. We were pretty hungry but still boxed up half a pizza. In addition to pizza and salads they also have a wide range of italian entrees, sandwiches, and pasta dishes on their menu. I’d go again to try their eggplant or chicken parm.
