Normal hung over Sunday, I walk into this place looking for some soup to heal my broken heart and hurt tummy. While we were waiting the owner mentioned they had karaōke and I said sign me up! He picked my favorite song All Good Things by Nelly Fertado psychically. My friend came from another restaurant with his food. The owner sang with us and laughed with us. He’s singing Akon right now! The food tastes amazing and fresh. The atmosphere is amazing. My day will be amazing for the rest of it because I came here. I don’t even use Unilocal but I made an account just so I could write this review! If you’re looking for somewhere to have a fun ass birthday party come here! The thai iced tea is so delicious as well.

The beef steak and flank phở soup was good. Great flavorful broth but But stingy on the meat. I also ordered pork rolls. They came in rice paper and would NOT recommend. Not tasty at all and pork was super bland. Roll was sooooo chewy it was hard to bite off. They also didn’t provide as much sprouts greens and jalapeño as other places.

The phở here is not bad. The soup is more sweet and savory than other places(a bit too sweet for my liking), if that is to your liking than this place might be for you. I had a large combination phở. While it was a little lacking in the meats, it came with a large serving of noodles so I definitely ate my fill. Service is similar to other phở resturaunts, nothing more, nothing less. Overall 3.5 stars.

I used to come here fairly often before it was Phở Thang Long. I thought I’d give it a try. It seems like a family run business. Waitress/cashier was probably the daughter and she spoke really good English. The phở menu looks like it really didn’t change much from the last restaurant but I don’t know for sure. I ordered the combination phở with meatballs(phở dac biet bo vien). They have 3 sizes so I went for the medium. The phở came out piping hot with rare beef slightly pink. So happy to see the pink color since most of the place I’ve had it recently it was cooked through. The rare stake was tender and tasted good. The soup here has pretty strong flavor with lots of herbs and spices. Other thing in this soup that was good was tendons. They give you generous amount and the texture is great. Tripe tasted more pungent than I generally get from other places. Brisket and flanks were on a bit chewy side — I’ve had better. Meatballs also has a strong flavor here. Texture of the noodles are good. Overally it was an ok bowl of phở. I think I prefer the flavor of my phở to be a little milder, but the rare steak and tendons made it really worth it. I’d really like to come and try their rice plate with deep fried shrimp cake — one of my favorite thing to have on vietnamese rice plate.

Craving for noodle… soup that is. Need to get some of that po if you know what I know. Any who, went based on a recommend from Victor G cause he always has the latest. Service: very fast(I was here at 930 in the am so no one was around) greeted at the door. Given any seat in the house. Saw that I was done with the menu and come over to take my order. Phở came out in literally 3 minutes. A secondary girl who was cleaning the tables saw I still had a menu and asked if I needed an order. 5 star on the service. Food: order a number 15(po places do it by the numbers so as to avoid confusion for communication barriers and the such). Medium bowl of a meatball special($ 7.25). Medium maybe a small in some joints. This is a bowl of carnage. The beef was good. Not to premium on the cuts but its in alignment with the surrounding Phở places. I say carnage cause it has more meat then noodles. They had more eye of round and brisket then tendon. I’m a carb guy so more noodles would have been cool. Soup: very subtle and clean but had good flavor. Not over flavored by any of the ingredients(like the clove wasn’t over powering or cinnamon didn’t stick out). Pretty balanced flavor. Food is a solid 4 stars. I just had a glass of water so that was all. If you’re looking for a hole in the wall where you don’t have to fight the morning crowd. This is your joint. No hipster to battle and good food and service make this place a definite stop for lunch or dinner

Phở Thang Long takes over from a former late night viet eatery/karoake locale. short menu: phở, noodles, bun, broken rice plates, beverages/shakes/coffee, appetitzers. eats: phở tai gan(s5.75, m6.5, xl7.25) –phở noodles/tai chewy, gan tender –broth pretty sweet with rock sugar and some msg, slight beefy flavoring –fresh ingredients, good value 3.5 leftovers: –flatscreen showing movies with english subtitles and chinese dubbing. –fast, friendly service. –nice ambience, small place.
