Tragedy of tragedies – this wonderful store is now CLOSED. You can still check out their stuff online but there’s nothing like being able to try something on – especially shoes before you buy. As far as I know, this was the only all vegan accessory story in the bay area and now there’s none. Now we have to go all the way to NY to Mooshoes to try on actual vegan shoes. Sad.

I was walking to Grand Ave., and something bright caught my eye. It was a super cute bag. I had to go in. Everything was soooo cute! The beauuuutiful woman behind the counter told me everything was cruelty-free. Seriously?!? I love cruelty free, but unfortunately, it’s hard to find things that are also cute. This place is such the find! Shoes, candles, cookbooks, jewelry, purses, wallets, cosmetics… Make sure you take lots of samples. She has lots of yummy smelling facial cleansers, masks, and moisturizers.

I just moved to the Bay Area and I looked all over San Francisco for a vegan shoe store(why isn’t there one?!). Happily, I found Micio Mambo, a fantastic vegan shoes, accessories, etc. store in Oakland. The owner is wonderful and so helpful, and I got some great new kicks! Also, it’s walking distance to the 19th St Oakland BART station. Please patronize this great place!

Great store. Lots of gifts to cater to different personalities — she even has a couple things for men. Although a little pricey, it’s nice to see fashionable yet responsible products, and the owner is extremely friendly. If you’re walking in the area, be sure to stop by… you can even drop in with your dog and he/she may get a treat!

I love everything at this store, esp the owner, Ursula, who is a real mensch. She keeps the place stocked with all the latest and hottest vegan(non-leather) shoes, bags and wallets. She also carries several different cruelty-free cosmetics, candles and body care products. If you care about animals and looking cute, please support this shop.

To celebrate getting a new job(phew! temporary relief), I decided to mildly stimulate our local economy and buy a couple«professional necessities» at some of our local retailers. More than anything, I needed a new pair of black flats. I found this place by accident. I’d seen it many times while riding the 57; but I assumed it was, like, a smoothie shop or something. WRONG! It is a local/vegan/green/no cruelty boutique! Veganism is not required to appreciate the store. They carry a lot of super stylish stuff that are even a few brands that you’ve heard of(ie, Steve Madden and Chinese Laundry). What I bought-black flats. What I would’ve bought if I had more money-tote bags. I found one that I would’ve dropped $ for if I weren’t trying to save money… maybe once I get a paycheck again. She also carries the awesome«Angry Little Girls» tote bags – available in both censored and uncensored models. ;) What I thought was cool-the owner is really sweet and passionate about what she does. Ask her about the décor in her store; she has interesting recycling stories about how she ended up with it. SHOPLOCAL! SHOPGREEN! SHOPCRUELTY-FREE!

I love this place. Skip Macy’s and Coach and visit Ursula’s story. She’s able to get top designs that are environmentally friends.

This vegan-owned lil’ boutique is your one-stop shop for vegan shoes(for boys and girls!), handbags, and other things vegan and consciously made.(Ursula, the owner, takes care to work with conscious/fair-trade manufacturers.) Candles, canvas bags, wallets, lotions, jewelry, and soaps round out the offerings. Support your local vegan boutique today! It’s a great place to visit after stocking up on veggies at the Grand Lake Farmer’s Market on Saturdays or just prior to a vegan lunch at Mimosa’s next door.

A store that can take over for Otsu, now that Otsu moved to green printing only. Has a variety of vegan/vegetarian/non-leather shoes, belts, bags, etc. at reasonable prices. The owner, Ursala, knows her stuff and is trying to improve the selection, which was decent, but could be bigger.

I accidentally found this place after eating a great brunch with the famous Bonnie M. It is an accessory dream place for Vegans like Ms. M. Their slogan is «It’s cool to be kind». She found two lovely pair of shoes on our visit. There are shoes, accessories, jewlery, skin care items and more for both men and women. Of course most of the items are for women. If I were a Vegan I would surely shop here. Add it to your short list of places to find such specialty items.

Small store, but nice selection of stuff you don’t really find. I really love the Red Tango bags, and Chinese Laundry shoes. Most importantly, this is a small business owner doing her thing… not bowing to the flavor of the day or corporate ways. Go — support her!

Cute little boutique, filling a much needed niche in the Bay Area. The owner is very friendly! It’s a small space, and still fairly new, but they have a decent selection that I hope will only grow. It’s nice to be able to see these shoes and bags in person after years of being limited to online shopping for vegan accessories.

I found this store while cruising the Lake Merrit area. It was fate. They carry all my favorite things! Micio Mambo is a cruelty-free boutique and shoe store that just opened in the Lake Merrit area. Close to the theater. You’ll find an amazing selection of unique jewerly, shoes, organic lotions and potions. They have recycled bags with those two bad girls designs that say things like, «it’s a recycle bag, bitch» and a variety of other witty remarks. The store is a great additon to the area. Not to mention, the Bikram Yoga studio is just around the corner and right up the stairs.

I’m not sure if this boutique is officially open for business yet, but I peaked in here since the door was open. They only had handbags laid out so far. Their Website says that they will also be selling shoes, accessories, jewelry, skin care products and more. Their merchandise is also leather-free, cruelty-free, and environmentally conscious. Very cool. I can’t wait until they are fully stocked and set up.
