Nope. Don’t do it. Whoever answered the phone last night that was just top notch customer service. Congrats I never thought I’d say no to pizza but sure enough… Here we are.

I’ve been twice — once for drinks, and once for pizza. Pricing is relatively high compared to the quality of what you get… $ 5 for a slice that wasn’t huge or overly great, served by a totally disinterested fellow.

For a forty dollar pizza I expect fireworks to go off in my mouth or something. It isn’t quite that, but all told a good pie. I don’t envy you Californians. Four stars.

I have always had a pleasant experience dining here or ordering take out, however, this past Friday was the total opposite. Last Friday night, I ordered a take out pizza. The man working the register at the take out counter had mentioned to me the order would take around 35 minutes. After 35 minutes had elapsed, I came back to check on my order. As I waited for my turn, an older Latino gentleman picked up his order in front of me. Shortly there after, I inquired about my order. The same man who had taken my order, a young Caucasian man, provided me with one of my worst customer service experiences. He was really rude and terse with me when I inquired about my order. He went as far as to assume I was in the same party as the older Latino gentleman and told me that my order had already been picked up. With a condescending tone, he insisted repeatedly that my order had been already been picked up. It wasn’t until a couple of minutes into the dispute, that he asked for my name. When he did, he asked, «Aren’t you Mercedes?» I immediately stated no. He then inquired and told me it would be another 10 minutes. 15 – 20 minutes later, my order was finally ready. The bright spot of this experience did not occur until the end(it took about a hour total to receive my order), when one of his co-workers, a person of color, handed me my order and apologized to me for the wait. The employee who had originally taken my order did not apologize for his poor service. I have always been blessed with wonderful experiences at this Lanesplitter’s location. My past experiences have always brought great service. However, this past visit was memorable in a very different way. For one of their employees, in this day and age and in a diverse neighborhood, to assume one person is another based on skin color is very sad. I hate to say this experience may make me think twice before patronizing this business.

Good draft beer,(and a small wine selection as well), friendly service and — yes! — really tasty vegan pizza with their house made vegan cheese. My husband and I each ordered a slice and to our surprise even received an unexpected(i.e. we didn’t request it) additional one free because the staff deemed my first slice to be too small. This place seems to attract all ages including parents with small children. Super casual atmosphere in the large, high-ceilinged space. We’ll be back.

I’ve only ordered deliver(via caviar). I’ve lived in NYC and Chicago and this pizza is pretty good… NY style thin crust, large slices. Quite tasty. Their pre-made combos are well balanced. This is at the top of my list for delivery in the area so far.

Ordered 3 slices. All cold. Nuff said. +1 star for fair wages policy and nice waitress.

Came here for a friends birthday during lunch time. Lots of different combinations to choose from with extensive beers on tap. They had Oktoberfest from Sierra Nevada, my favorite! We what ordered: Heartstopper and Chicane, plus some others that weren’t too memorable. Heartstopper was probably the best one, and I loved the kick of the gorgonzola. I didn’t like how the middle of the pizza was soggy, almost as if the dough was undercooked. It’s not a NY pizza unless you can fold it to eat it, and sadly this was the case here.

I’ve been here several times are it is in my work area lunch orbit. The Temescal area just keeps growing in popularity with lots of restaurants and trendy businesses. Beside it being harder to park there is often a wait to get in. This is one of the larger places in the neighborhood so I’ve never had to wait. There is indoor seating and outdoor and there is usually at least one person with a dog. It is a comfortable place to hang out. I’ve had a couple different salads and they’ve been good. And I’ve tried the vegetarian pizza options and was disappointed with the flavor and the soft crust texture. It certainly is edible but on the mediocre side in a city teeming with great pizza options.

California is in a drought so stop watering down your sauce, dressing, cider. Came here because it was pretty much the only place in temescal open after 10. Staff was extremely rude and food was bland, greasy and extremely overpriced. I haven’t written a review in years but this place rubbed me so wrong that I was embarrassed to have brought my friends here.

THEPIZZAISBOMB!!! BUT!!! If your open until midnight why is your bartender slamming doors. Keys. Dishes. Chairs. Ect… Trying to scare off your customers early? I don’t recommend this place because of the unfriendly service. But if you can hang at least try the pizza!!! Bartender is with green yellow hair. SORUDEANDUNHAPPY!!! Geez! Upon asking the green goblin where to throw out trash… she responded«we don’t have a trash can GO across the street» Ok. We will never be back for your delicious pizza because of her attitude. Thank you

I’ve been to Lanesplitter a number of times. As a pizza snob, I rate their slices 2.5 stars: interesting toppings, acceptable thin crust, lacking in cheese, not amazing reheated(which I believe is how they’re served unless you get a full pie; slices come out dry and almost crunchy). Before the wage increase — 5 stars, btw — my workaround was a Sicilian slice with an added topping. Thick, juicy, delicious, and with fresh mozzarella. After the wage increase, the menu was modified with price adjustments and some cuts. Adiós, Sicilian slice. I’m currently in mourning and haven’t returned in months. That sad dinner with a visiting cousin ended up costing around $ 45: a pitcher of beer, some not great garlic sticks, two slices and a side salad. When my heart mends, I’ll stop by for a beer and a slice, but only in support of the nice staff and cool pay practices. My expectations aren’t very high, so maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Lanesplitter was my go to pizza place in the East Bay. While I think the concept of no tip/living wage is good, it has lowered the quality and skyrocketed prices. When I first saw this new business technique employed by Lanesplitter I thought, okay this will make the delivery transaction easy, this was true. However, in the end I payed over $ 40 for a cold pizza. I had to heat it up before I had any. Sorry Lanespillter but there are too many great places to eat here in the Bay Area to put up with expensive mediocre food.

Allow me to begin that this review is a reflection of the service not the food. The food is GREAT I used to be a regular, at least once a week. I applauded your move to the living wage and no tip policy. But true to human nature, the staff(and there is not a lot of turnover) who were once engaged, interested, and attentive are now(due to the automatic tip) lackadaisical, no where to be found, and unhelpful. Human nature in its course Additionally, they attenuated their weekday hours — no more lunch serving Food is still good but the dining experience is quite diminished with the lack of quality service

I have enjoyed Lanesplitter for a few years now, but I have to say that the service at this Telegraph Avenue location has really gone downhill. I like the Temesal neighborhood location, but lately it feels like it’s hipsterville. And these are the exact kind of people who work at Lanesplitter. NOSMILES, NOHELLO, often times I am the one who ever says THANKYOU. What the heck? What has happened to quality customer service? As far as the pizza goes, I usually get the $ 5 slice of pizza and a beer. There have been times where my single slice is piping hot right out of the oven… and there have been times where the slice is so old and tired that it was inedible. I am told that they swap out the pizzas every two hours, but I find that very hard to believe. I also enjoy their salads, but with the service the way it is– the last time I ordered a salad here… they SLAMMED the pizza in front of me within 2 minutes of my order… and 20 minutes later the salad showed up. Huh? Management: take note please.

I’m not a pizza person in all honesty, but I was able to scarf down 4 slices here… and maybe a 5th if we had any left. =P It’s pretty good, but a bit pricey! It was my first time dining in at Lanesplitter. It’s not anything fancy, nor are the seats comfortable. But it’s great for large groups. Service was ok, the waitress at first seem to have an issue with us seating ourselves, but afterwards acted normal. Not much service really, they gave us water and our pizzas, without much service in between. Between us four girls, we shared: Green Machine: Delicious!!! Better then the Splitter but I really loved the addition of the pesto to the pizza and the sausage was so savory. So good. Thin crust, came out piping hot. Crust was nice and crunchy! Splitter: Good, but not as good was the green machine. It had roasted chicken, bell peppers and spinach, and the flavors just wasn’t that memorable. Thin crust as well. Thin to the point that the slice flops back and forth when it is hot. Between us four, we ordered two 15″ pizzas($ 28/each) and it was definitely enough. Each of us had 4 slices. Definitely not cheap, but the pizza was good!

Awesome location. Clean restaurant. Friendly staff.(She warned me about fake cheese on the pizza I ordered. Good call!) Pizza was pretty damn good. Just the style I liked. Thin crust, not too crowded. I’d definitely go there again. Seemed high priced but… I think it’s worth paying more for tastier pizza instead of just filling up dough slathered in sauce and grease.

On Saturday, 12÷6÷14, after having a not so good Mac & Cheese meal at Homeroom I decided to go get a slice of pizza from Lanesplitter Pizza & Pubs. A coworker of mine said the pizza is pretty good here so I thought I’d give it a try. Atmosphere/Décor: The place is pretty big with tons of tables to sit at inside. They also have an outdoor dining section located in the front. The bar area looked pretty big. No matter where you sit you’ll be able to see the cooks prepping and preparing each pizza. Food: I ordered a slice of the Carnivore(pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, onion.) The toppings tasted fresh and overall the pizza tasted good. The pizza resembled a New York style thin crust which I liked. Service: I didn’t dine in at Lanesplitter so I can’t comment on the servers. The guy that took my order where they make the pizzas at was very nice. The lady making the pizzas seemed very nice as well. Overall: Lanesplitter Pizza & Pubs looks like a good place to go to with friends for a night out on the town or to enjoy a beer at the bar with some good tasting pizza. I’m going to hit up Lanesplitter next time I’m in the mood for some thin crust pizza rather than ordering from a crappy chain pizza place. I’d suggest you do the same.
