My expectations for these burgers were too high. I think I would’ve liked it better if I hadn’t gotten onions in my burgers– there were too much onions so the flavor was too strong and overpowering. The animal fries which is not on the menu was alright. I got take out so the cheese kind of hardened.

In-N-Out Burger: a Californian institution as American as apple pie. If you come here, just park and get out of your car. There’s plenty of parking and most of the patrons are too lazy to get out of their vehicles, so the drive-through line is wayyyy longer than the line inside. Fries are mediocre. I feel like you can just skip them. Enjoy your shameover after eating here! I sure did.

Everyone that knows me, knows I LOVEIN-N-OUT! I love In N Out so much that I actually walked over a mile to get to this location even when the people at the hotel told me they wouldn’t do it as it is kind of scary. Yes I had to walk along the highway and cross over it to get to the other side. There was one spot where there were these bushes and I heard people talking(must of been some homeless people I heard that area has a bunch) but I couldn’t see any of them as it was very dark. But hey I wanted my In N Out. With all that said, I will get into the nitty gritty about this place as most people know that they have a great burger, shake, and so so fries. What I am about to write is what I know and have ordered at one time or another just to see which way I like best(so far I liked them all). Yes, what I’m talking about is their secret menu. Secret menu? Yes, they have a menu off the menu you see. It’s so that the normal person won’t hold up that already long line trying to figure out what you want. Kind of like Starbucks and all the different ways to order your drinks. Wait, you didn’t know about that too? Oh boy, that’s for another review. LOL Ok the buns here come toasted and burgers are done medium-well. But you can request that your bun come either no toast or extra toasted. Make everyone that didn’t know you could do it this way and say the two magic words… Medium rare and whoop there it is, a nice pink center that most don’t see as they didn’t know you could get it this way. Besides the single and double, you can ask for a THREEBYTHREE or FOURBYFOUR. Yup you guessed it… You will get a triple or quadruple cheeseburger. Before, one could order up to a 100 by 100. Unfortunately, that is a thing of the past. What, you like extra condiments on your burger… No problem as you can get extra for any burger(example for extra mustard) by asking mustard grilled. What the cook will do is put extra mustard on the top of the patty before flipping it so that the flavor soaks into the meat. Oh yeah! I’m sure some of you cooks out there is going to try this at home. I’m sure here and there you will hear someone ask for ANIMALSTYLE(you can get this with almost any burger). Animal Style is grilled onions cooked in the delicious meat juices which is combined with extra Thousand Island sauce, mustard grilled patties, and extra pickles.(btw this is my favorite at the moment but I also add raw onion, yes you can have both) What, you’re feeling that you want that delicious grilled onions and Thousand Island Sauce on your fries. YESPLEASE, you can do it by ordering Animal Style fries. YUMMY! So, you are on a no carb diet! No problem, you can ask for PROTEINSTYLE. That’s right no buns but you get your burger wrapped in lettuce. Some Monkish people prefer to keep their rabbit food and carnivore-ish food separate. If this is you, you can do this by ordering a SALADONTHESIDE. If the employee is a newbie and doesnt know how to do this, then you can ask for extra lettuce, tomatoes, and if you want onions on the side. To be really sneaky and get the most out of it, you can also ask for an extra packet of spread and BOOM you got yourself your own side salad at no extra cost. Now we come to the FLYINGDUTCHMAN. This is for all those who are looking for something Mr. Atkins would come out of his grave and give his stamp of approval. Two slices of melted cheese between two burger patties. No bunny food, no carb loading buns, just pure protein. You could do animal style with this as well but they will but they will put the onions with the cheese but the Thousand Island Sauce and pickles on the side as it would be too messy and get all over you unless that’s your thing. Hey some of you are strange individuals. You have a friend,(we all have that one friend who is vegan or vegetarian. Yes there is a difference) no problem. Just ask for the GRILLEDCHEESE. You will get a toasted bun with two slices of American cheese melted perfectly between the two buns. If you want you can even ask to get the standard lettuce, tomato, and raw onions inside. I like In-N-Out fries but I LOVE McDonald’s fries better. If you are like me, you can order your fries differently as well. If you want them extra crispy, just say, WELLDONE. The fries will come out more dry and crunchy. If you like opposite 180 then ask for LIGHT and you will get that limp and oily and just add salt and there you go. Some like the TWOMINUTE fries which is still crunchy and a little raw in the middle. Last but not least is the shake and floats. You have the standard choice of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry shakes. What you want all three? You got it! Ask for the NEAPOLITAN. So you want to wolf down a nice cold one without struggling to suck out the goodness!!! Then try ask for the ROOTBEERFLOAT. You will get a half cup of root beer topped with a swirl of vanilla soft-serve

I had only heard of In N Out from my friends posting pictures on Instagram or FB telling me how much they enjoy it. The pictures looked like they had a decent burger, but in this day and age, it seems like you need to have a competitive advantage to want to come back. When I stayed at the Hilton OAK Airport, I came across this place driving by. I was absolutely perplexed at the long line in the drive through. When it gets a certain length, they send someone outside with a tablet to take orders. Now I am familiar with the secret menu(and trust me, it is vast. Just Google it.), but I keep it simple. I get a plain double cheeseburger, sometimes two. The fries, I am not really a fan of(I have tried them all different ways, don’t worry– just not my forte). The dining room here closes early, and forces people to get in the drive through line. At night, this place is like a high school party with homeless people as mascots. I am surprised there is not more of a police presence, honestly(there is a Panda Express next door that shares the same dilemma). Sometimes I have almost gotten out of my car to bitchslap some of the customers in the drive through line because they are that rude. Weed smoke pouring out of their cars into the restaurant, people throwing their drink cups against the building then asking for more, and crap like that. My favorite are the homeless guys hugging the drive through wall trying to get your fresh food. It makes you feel like you are in a lawless land. They just need to hire a undercover 3rd party mercenary here. The burgers are unique, they toast the buns and there is always plenty of cheese. I realized though it is probably not best for my health, but don’t worry, that never factors a rating. If you want just a meal, try coming in the day time. If you want a truly unique and annoying experience, come in the night. In N Out, I think my relationship with you is coming to an end. Boo, I know…

I am a fan of this burger chain and as of 12/11/2015 I have dined a total of thirty-seven times at In-N-Out. This particular location was great, and when I say that I mean that the sandwich buns were toasted nicely and french fries were crispy and as good as they can get.

Went here three times on a four day trip to Oakland. My friends told me a lot about this joint, so I went there with a lot of hype. For the most part, it lived up to it. Let’s not get completely overboard — it’s still fast food, so I’m going to review it objectively. Being familiar with the regular places such as McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy’s — it certainly blows them all away. I think the best comparison would be the regional places like Shake Shack. I have never been a huge Shake Shack fan — have always found it overrated. In-N-Out definitely surpasses that. The ingredients taste fresher. As for the specific location, I did experience a prolonged wait after the Raiders game on a Sunday — a lot of fans seem to make this their spot, so that may be a bad time to go. I’ll be returning — Animal Style.

You can never go wrong with In-N-Out. My go-to burger place. I typically get either a cheeseburger or double double and fries(maybe animal style fries if I’m feeling hungry). I always get extra grilled onions bc there’s isn’t enough and I don’t like raw onions. The burger bun is a bit flimsy but overall taste pretty good. Fries sometimes is too salty but in general it’s good. You can always ask for lightly salty, no salt and they will make a new batch for you. And you can’t beat the price! You’re out the door paying less than ~ $ 8 for 2 people! Service is pretty good and everyone is friendly. Note that it’s free to get the extra toppings like extra grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, chopped chillies etc.

We always seem to be hungry when flying into the Bay Area, and In-N-Out doesn’t disappoint. We flew in late, so only the drive-thru was open. The line was long, but they expedite quickly. Daughter always orders her burger animal style, which is with their special sauce. She also ordered her fries animal style! By the time we got to my mom’s they had vanished! Guess they were pretty good: o) Love that everything is fresh and it is made to order. My cheeseburger and fries were devoured pretty quickly. Definitely will be back!

Normally I’m a big fan of In N Out, but this particular location is just not as good as the rest of the In N Outs I’ve been to. I work right near here on Edgewater Dr. in the industrial park, so this is super convenient, but with the other choices around, I’ll go elsewhere. This In N Out opens late at night, but there’s no way I’m coming down here at night. During the day, If I’m gonna have to be in a sketch neighborhood, I might as well go to a real get down with yo bad self Oakland joint, like the Chubby Freeze across the freeway. I’ll even got to Hegenburger’s towards over by the airport. The food here at this in N Out is the same as all the rest of them, but the staff is just not trained as well as the suburban ones it seems. The accuracy of orders and efficiency of the kitchen crew doesn’t work like that well oiled machine I see elsewhere. I’ve had cold fries, underdone fries, wrong burgers, no animal style and just blank looks from cashiers… so no, I’ll have to get the olé In N Out animal style elsewhere.

I LOVEEEEE In-N-Out Burger!!! Too bad we don’t have it in Houston… or maybe that’s a good thing(I would be obese) Anyways, like always the burger was quite tasty. I ordered a cheeseburger and enjoyed every bite. I’m not a fan of their fries, they always lack in flavor.

These burgers are the best! I had such a special memory at this place. I landed in LA and we went straight for In N Out. I like the drive in option and the cute mat they gave us. I love the milk shakes here. The hamburgers were so good, it’s making my mouth water right now. I wish they expanded to Washington. I could come here every time I crave a good mouth watering burger and ditch all other burgers! At least we have Dicks Drive In here but it is not as good hands down! My Personal Restaurant Rating Key One star: the food was bad and I had a negative experience. Two star: I had a more negative experience and would not come here again but the food was good so I may. Three store: Everything is good except one thing. Example-the food is good, the price is more reasonable but the atmosphere is lacking class. Or the food is good, the atmosphere is good, but they over charged us. These three stars are actually my favorite types of restaurants to go eat at if the reason is due to the atmosphere because they are usually delicious and reasonably priced. Four stars: Everything is great, food and experience. However the price is definitely on the upper end. I would not recommend this first to Obama unless he didn’t like my five stars. These are restaurants you can take your boss or your mother-in-laws to impress them, however they still don’t fit into the five star category. A bit fancier than my three stars, hence I don’t often eat here unless there is an occasion for it or there is a groupon that gives me a bit of a discount! Five stars: I would recommend this to Obama. The price may be on the upper end but the experience and the taste is so exquisite, it is actually worth every nickel and dime.

Unfortunately I didn’t order anything from their«not so secret» menu. I just got a hamburger and fries. I’ll have to say that coming from the Portland area where we don’t have an In-N-Out, I don’t think that this place lived up to the hype. However, I give this place four stars for the value. Definitely a cheap eat. The burger was decent for the price. The fries were a little inconsistent, however. Some fries were nice and crispy, while others tasted more stale(but not completely inedible). If I visit California again, I would definitely make a return visit mainly because I still consider it a tasty, fast meal that would allow me to have time to do other things.

My second favourite burger location(right after 5 Guys). Their Protein Style Burgers, lettuce wrapped, are awesome(they are on the Not So Secret Menu — ). They were the first that had them(or so I was told) and that’s what made me come in here a lot, cause I’m not a fan of(way too sweet) hamburger buns. They are fast(3 registers) despite the long lines and the place is always clean(there’s at least one employee that constantly checks the tables and floors, kudos to that). They also have outdoor seating so if you prefer being in a less crowded place and not under the shiny white lights, that’s the thing you wanna do. If you’re not a fan of eating there you can also get take out. One way is through a drive through(never tried it, so I couldn’t tell you about the wait time, but the line is usually always long) or come in, order, pick it up and take it with you. You might have to wait for about 10 minutes(depending on the amount of people) to get your food, but it’ll be worth it. They employees really try, even if it might not seem so. The only thing that I’m not happy about is that they only have 1 size of fries(which are good nevertheless) and no bacon in their burgers. That’s why they will probably always be my second option, sorry In-N-Out. :] Tip: If you’re really hungry order a 4×4 and some fries.

Not even sure there is any point in reviewing another In-N-Out Burger. The patties are always tasty, the buns are always toasted, the cheese is melty, guilt inducing goodness, the fries are fresh and hot and they have one if the best chocolate milkshakes. As always, the staff are friendly and quick as lightening. However, this branch loses a star for the lack of paper in the toilets.

So. I had two questions in mind. 1) Who would I review for my 100th review? It’s important(not really) because I am sharing this milestone with some one. 2) I need to start building out my top burger lists as it is too short at the moment. What burger places have I not rated? Burger list: I instantly thought about you. Yes it isn’t a flashy pick, or something unique or some hole in the wall that I usually like to share. But you’ve always been that faithful one to go to. That place that when everyone can’t decide where to eat, we can default to without complaint. Yes your lines are ridiculously long, there is never a place to sit and the food takes way too long to come out(especially this location), but the taste — always the same, always solid. If I am going to have a legitimate burger list, I need you there as a reference point. If I say this burger place is better than another, how does that help. But if I say, it’s half as good as in-n-out or twice as good — that people understand. There isn’t much more I can say as everyone already knows you. Your burgers are great, delicious. Your fries look terrible and doesn’t have the best flavor, but something about it is still enjoyable. People have been saying, what is better — five guys or in-n-out… Here is how I described you to others, which usually leads to people nodding their heads… if any given day, I felt like eating a good burger, I would go to a place like five guys. I think their burgers are more hearty, and all the toppings is great. Fries are better… BUT if I had to eat one type of burger again and again — it would always be in-n-out. It’s solid every time, I will never get sick of it. In-n-out is that burger which for some reason I crave every once in a while. I never crave for five guys or other burgers places, even ones that are really, really good… Anyways, take that as the ultimate compliment. Now if you had a «bacon-style»… or avocado option…

It’s In-N-Out. What virtues can I say about this place that haven’t been said already. Every food blogger and network host has said or written every possible word to convince everyone this is the place to get one of the finest and well valued meals on the planet. This location is as good as any of them. Fast, efficient, and clean. The neighborhood is a little shakey but that’s not really their fault. They do a good job of keeping the riff raff away as to not take away from the meal you’re about to have. That being said I still don’t like their fries that much. There I said it! Do they deserve to lose a star because of it? Hell no the burger is a permanent six anyway. If I did have a wish for In-N-Out I would like a 24 hour location with beer and wine. What better way to cure a future hangover than that? Anyway In-N-Out is awesome blah blah blah. If you’ve read this far you’ve wasted your time.
