The hot dog cart is never there… Very disappointed… I’ve walked over a few times. Shouldn’t be advertising if unable to accommodate customers.

This cart is around the corner from where I work. Been meaning to try it for months but keep forgetting it’s there. Finally, I needed to grab a quick bite today, with no food cravings, and the day was gloomy and cold. My car was in the shop, so I didn’t feel like walking very far when it hit me: B-line for the hot dog cart! For such a small operation, this guy offers a dazzling array of condiments(all free of charge): ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish, onions, diced tomatoes, jalapenos and cilantro. I had a Polish with everything minus onions and ketchup*(coulda held the mayo, too) and it hit the spot. The jalapenos were especially good; the jarred kind but plump and crunchy. I don’t think he offered sauerkraut but the dog was so tasty and piled-high I didn’t even notice. If you are looking for a quick, cheap bite in the JLS ‘hood, look for this place right outside the Markus Supply Ace Hardware store on 3rd Street. * I live by Dirty Harry’s Golden Rule: «Nobody… I mean NOBODY puts ketchup on a hot dog.»
