GONE! Went yesterday at 2PM and no signs of life. I am sad because I really liked this place a lot! If you want to risk it, call first. I don’t k now if their phone is disconnected or not.

Closed down? We tried to go for dinner on a Saturday night, and it was dark at 7 pm. Doesn’t look cleaned, randomly strewn produce boxes, etc. No note or sign or anything either.

We tried to go today for lunch but they were closed. No signs, furniture still there, but the place was empty.

This place was pretty good. Nice and clean. Fast and friendly service. Except for the gnat on the salad, everything was delicious.

Good place for a quick lunch. There’s never a line. I always order the rice clay pot. It is very consistent. The pot is so hot it makes a crunchy rice crust that I enjoy with the mixtures of veggie and seafood. Delicious.

After day drinking at first and last we needed a meal since we worked all day and finally has down time. This place has been sitting here for years and decided to give it a try since it was the only spot that was empty and didn’t look to need any wait. We sat outside since it was so nice out and I also brought my dog. The lady came quick(obviously) and handed us our menus. The menus was simple. Straight to the point and the price was decent. We ordered our stuff mushrooms which I DONTRECOMMEND. The mushrooms once cut through was watery and burned your tongue if you’re not careful. We also ordered the clay pot which I can’t spell or say the original name. It was a weird mix. Something very simple and easy to make. It was plentiful. We couldn’t even finish it. It was also so so. The good thing is this place was quick. The food came quick. The waitress was a delight and it filled us up in a jiff.

Yummy for my tummy Hot clay pot dol sot bibimbop so good that some of my co-workers and I have to come here and get our fix! The udon noodle soup is pretty divine as well but my favorite is the clay pot. Especially in these cooler winter months, the combination of rice that gets crunchy from sitting at the bottom of the hot clay pot and the veggies, meat and egg can be a bit addicting! Always served piping hot and never cools down, it is a fun and filling meal that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg(thanks for that). Keeps you warm and satisfied for hours! They have some pretty amazing desserts too! Service is polite and efficient, if you are tight on time you can call ahead and can get down to business shortly after arriving. Great place to come and enjoy some hot food.

For those unfamiliar with Hahn’s «Hibachi»: this is not a teppenyaki restaurant, so do not expect to see a grilling show. All the cooking is done in the chef’s kitchen. Back to the review: my party was generally pleased with their respective entrée choices. We ordered the BBQ Chicken kabob plate, Super Sauté’ Seafood Combo(calamari, shrimp, and scallops), and two Dolsot Bibimbop clay pots(beef and pork). The Bibimbop is quality and our favorite entrée of the night. The kabob was moist and flavorful. I definitely did not enjoy the seafood combo, though; it tasted bland and like something my parents would make for dinner at home when they did not have a lot of time to cook. The entrees are sizable and the service/wait times are par for the course.

Although you know you’re not going to be in for a truly authentic Korean or Japanese experience here when you realize that not one of the staff members or customers is Asian, there’s not much I have to complain about the food here. Items like kabobs, barbequed meats, or even stone bowl bibimbap are all decent, yet not spectacular. As other folks have mentioned, there’s something odd about having Asian food in what’s otherwise a dated diner, but if you’re in the immediate area and don’t feel like walking all the way to Chinatown, yet also don’t feel like going to one of the pricer places here at Jack London Square, this isn’t a bad bet.

I like coming here. I always get the BBQ chicken. So good and portion is just right. This time I got the chicken and shrimp kabobs and they were so good. My kids are picky and they also got the BBQ chicken and theirs came with potstickers and my daughter ate everything. Like it here!

This is my go-to lunch on the go place. The BBQ chicken sandwich or BeBoppin’ Bibim are good for take out, the clay pot soup is best to eat in the restaurant. The service is good and fast, I usually call my orders in 15 minutes ahead and have never had to wait. The vegies are delicious and the perfect amount of food.

This use to be a family favorite when I was growing up. Over the years the food quality has declined. I had sworn this restaurant off years ago. My little sister is visiting from college. She wanted to come here and so I agreed. We both ordered the bbq chicken. The sauce was runny and even more American than previous visits. We were served day old rice and that is a sin in itself. I found a hair in my pickled cucumbers. … no comment concerning that. I really hate to put this establishment on blast but.. It was ran way better back in the 90’s.

Ordered the BeBoppin’ Bibimpap — Pork($ 9.95) To Go Love the fact that they packed all the little dishes of veggies into the same container… Love the pickled veggies and sauteed spinach. The pork was well seasoned and tender… what I did not notice was the char marks that from a grill. Looks like they cooked it on the flat top. There was ample seating and the tables looked cleaned and clear of empty dishes. Funny — the restaurant had a «dinerish» feel to it. The food was ready and waiting when we got there, so there was no waiting around.

Decent stop for lunch. The place was pretty empty on a Friday at 1230. Had the BBQ pork udon noodle bowl — huge portion with crisp assortment of carrots, broccoli and zucchini along with tasty mushrooms. It was piping hot and good seasoning-not salty. Business mates had BBQ chicken and rice and shrimp kabobs which looked decent. Service was a little inattentive for not being busy. Came to $ 50 for 4 without any drinks.

Been here a couple of times and it was just ok but this time is my last! The food here just got worse! It doesn’t even look appealing! I’ve had way better Korean BBQ. They have a lot of fat attached to their BBQ pork, veggies were bitter, and the shrimp just had a bad taste to it. Very disappointing, don’t come here

Looking for a quick bite before a show on NYE and not wanting to go down the pizza or italian/seafood route, we stumbled on Hahn’s in Jack London Square. If you are looking for authentic Korean and are particular, this is not your place. But it is good Korean food and they have a good selection of vegetarian options and the Soba noodles were really great in my Bipbap, along with the Tofu. They have two good versions of hot sauce and the food was fresh. The portions are large and generous and I loved the kimchi. Think of Hahn’s as a good«fast food» Korean place, though its interior is more upscale and the service matches the interior. Our waiter was attentive without being overly so and our food came in a reasonable amount of time. We’ll be back – the carnivore husband wants to try the«pile of pork» next time!

Whoever came up with this name must be a big fan of the Team America movie. To have a Korean restaurant named after someone named Hahn has to be playing off of the affection that Kim Jung Il gives to Hans Blix in that movie. Or, so I told myself as justification for choosing to eat here. There are some nice restaurants in Jack London Square that tend to be on the pricier side. On another night, I would have been up for several of them. But since I was on business and dining solo, Hahn’s actually turned out to be a much better place for me. There were a few other guys that were also eating on their own here, so they must have gotten the same idea. To anyone that’s a fan of Asian meat, the menu will look quite appealing. I went with the chicken, beef, and shrimp kabobs to ensure I get a good mix of their offerings and a lot of food. Would I have liked some BBQ pork and maybe even some of their fried bananas? Of course, but the meal portions here are sizeable so there’s not any real need to add on a bunch of other stuff. Hahn’s is nice for what it is. The quality of the meat won’t knock your socks off but it won’t lead to any complaints either. The value is real good and food is served quickly. It did turn out to be just the right spot for me. If I would have chosen a spot a couple feet in either direction, I’m afraid I may have suffered the same fate as Hans Blix, and ended up falling right through the trapped door into the shark tank.

OK, I’m confused. How can one Hahn’s Hibachi serve decent, hearty Korean food and another Hahn’s Hibachi serve such dreary versions of the same dishes? Jamie W. and I enjoy going to the one on Polk frequently on lazy Friday evenings, so we thought it would be a slam dunk to go to the one at Jack London Square. We were over in Oakland because we decided to take the ferry just for the hell of it. The ride has a completely different vibe than the one to Sausalito. More melting pot-ish if you know what I mean. Anyway, we strolled on the waterfront thinking that we could use some familiar bibimbop before taking our voyage back to civilization. Now this Hahn’s has more decorative flair than the others. Unlike the lunch room-level setting of the one on Polk, this location has West Elm-style Asian moderne touches that are crossed with the design sensibilities of a California Pizza Kitchen. I’m sure it’s quite fitting for the tourist trade that ends up there, but I found it a bit off-putting. Bottom line is that the place just lacks warmth. Putting that aside, we dove in and started our meal with a $ 5.50 plate of the Pan-Fried Chicken Potstickers(see photo). A good price for six of them, but man, were they rubbery and lukewarm, a deadly combination that didn’t encourage me to have more than half of one. Things got marginally better with the unfortunately named Beboppin’ Bibimbop($ 10.95), which mixed a fried egg and several pieces of BBQ pork with rice sizzling in a stone bowl. It was hot, hot, hot, but after a while, the rice got nicely burnt for that crunchy texture I really wanted. At that point, the meat went beyond well done and the vegetables became virtually inedible. Jamie was not terribly impressed with his $ 10.95BBQ Pork plate which despite the addition of the heavily sweetened«Kung Poongy» sauce, was generally bland. Like all the entrees, it came with a scoop of rice, a sprout and cucumber salad, and some kimchee. Oh well, back to the ferry. FOOD — 2 stars… disappointing execution on some familiar Korean dishes AMBIANCE — 2.5 stars… more stylish than the others in a packaged kind of way SERVICE — 3 stars… no complaints in this area TOTAL — 2 stars… this Hahn’s needs a culinary overhaul if you ask me
