We were here Thursday night, 2÷4÷16. Family trip to Wisp Resort. Father-in-law’s 74th birthday. Madison was our wait staff and she was marvelous! My nephew is EXTREMELY allergic to shellfish. She checked with the chef and us 3 times about food prep for him. There were 8 of us for our dinner on our first day at Quality Time(rental from Riley Vacations). We all walked down to Dutch’s. Food was fantastic. Madison told us the strip steak was the best item. True to her word, huge portion(for $ 40), very tender, cooked RARE to perfection. Double-stuffed potatoes. Highly recommend the place.

This is our 2nd time to this restaurant in the past 2 years. Restaurant is beautiful inside with two large fireplaces at each end of the main dining room and a small, but cozy, bar. Very accommodating for large parties. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. We had several children 8 and under and they all enjoyed their meals. I’m a bit of a crab cake snob having been spoiled with great restaurants in Baltimore, Annapolis and the Eastern Shore. That being said, the last place one might think they’d find a good crab cake would be Deep Creek, or anywhere outside of the aforementioned places. So many places try to overthink something that should be so simple… lots of lump and little to no filler. Since their other restaurant in Frederick, MD also has good food /crab cakes, I gave it a try. They were delicious!!! An 8⁄10 As were the other seafood dishes the others at the table got, such as the stuffed shrimp. Thank you for making our dinner so enjoyable!

Have been there a few times before for appetizers which are really good. Today we went there for lunch i had the french onion soup which I would not recommend the soup was overly salty and the fried haddock sandwich had absolutely no flavor to it needed some spices, salt or something to my companion had the cream of crab soup it was very buttery not as creamy as some needed more sherry and the chicken sandwich cheasepeake it had good flavor we enjoyed it

Up in deep Creek for a business meeting. It was an overnight trip. This place was recommended to us and it was amazing. Great people. We got a tropical martini which was delicious. I also got the filet Oscar, which is filet mignon with crab imperial in top. It came with asparagus and hollandaise sauce. Literally one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The filet melted in my mouth like butter. The Imperial was nothing but lumps of crab meat. Will definitely be back to this place when I come up for another client visit! Also, the staff was AWESOME. Super friendly!

Been going to Dutches since they opened and have always had great food and top notch service. By far the best restaurant in deep creek. We have been to Dutches during all seasons. Sunday brunch is great and their new Friday night buffet is even better. Atmosphere of the old silver tree restaurant is reminiscent of the«old deep creek». Only complaint is they need to have specials or new menu items sometimes. We eat there all the time and need something new. And maybe a band in the bar. Disappointed that you got rid of the wood burning fireplaces too.

This restaurant was recommended to me as the place to go to when coming into Deep Creek Lake. Krista was our waitress and did a wonderful job. We got the Dutch’s seafood platter and split it. It was large and perfect for two people. Great salad and fresh bread to die for. A bit pricey but we’ll worth it. Would recommend this place hands down to anyone.

I wanted to give Dutches at Silver Tree a better review but because of the mistakes made by the kitchen-specifically steaks being overcooked(ordered the meat cooked medium and came out almost overdone), mistakes with the salad and no attempt to change a potato. The wait person was nice and did apologize for the salad mistake but nothing was said about the overcooked steaks. For the amount of money being spent, one would assume that asking for a steak to be cooked properly would be an option. I understand how some people would give this restaurant a 5 star rating while others give it a one. I chose to go with a 2 star because the other steaks and entrees were properly cooked and the wait staff was nice. However, if one is going to spend the kind of money that this restaurant charges, be sure and read the reviews before deciding to eat here.

Food is great, have to get that out first. I’ve been taking my employee to dinner there once a week for 4 months and we get steak and cheese sandwiches. Tonight I am told I cannot order it, new policy says no steak and cheese after 5pm. If I want steak, manager says I can order a filet. Really? Thanks. I’m at UNOs now giving them my money rather than Dutches. How is that a good policy if it sends your customers to the competition? Manager could’ve been a bit more empathetic rather than just smugly stating«that’s our new policy«.

Had dinner at 5:00 on a Saturday evening to celebrate 40th anniversary. Seated by window but had to move because the flies were thick! Watched other diners swatting them all evening. My salad looked to be about half the size of others coming out of the kitchen. The bread wasn’t ready and was served after the salads. Waitress forgot to ask which potatoes we wanted(only choice of 2), forgot to offer cracked pepper. Nothing new on menu and very expensive($ 40 crabcakes?!) The same stuffed potatoes have been on the menu since they opened and no other vegetable choices are available. No more .10 sundaes either. Won’t go back to spend a lot of money here for a very negative experience.

We had high hopes for dinner tonight and had to wait almost an hour for our entrée’s. The food was ok but insanely overpriced. Our son had 8 boiled shrimp that was $ 30. I had 2 crab cakes with overlooked green beans and broccoli for $ 43. Our waiter did fine but the hostess said she wished we hadn’t come on a holiday weekend and the service would’ve been better. Seriously?!? Go for lakeside drinks and skip the ‘fancy’ dinner.

Have been to Dutch’s many times. Food was excellent as always. It did take awhile to get the food, but they also had a large unexpected crowd for the evening and it was the start of a holiday weekend. To make up for it, they gave us free appetizers and soup and also discounted the bill. There was live music and a great view so we didn’t mind the wait. Highly recommend the filet oscar. If you don’t want a full entrée, just ask them for the sandwich/salad menu. Lots of good stuff on there. And the homemade cheese sticks are delicious and the bread with the cinnamon butter. Our waitress Brooke was great, as was manager Jeff! Overall, I would highly recommend dining at Dutch’s if you’re in the DCL area.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Dutches. We both ordered steak entrees and they were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing! The oysters I ordered for an appetizer were so meaty and tasty, and the calamari was awesome too! We both shared a cheesecake for desert which was also wonderful. I couldn’t believe that every single thing we ordered and ate was so good. I can’t wait to come back here again someday when we’re back in Deep Creek Lake! The staff was so friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was great. I wouldn’t have minded a seat overlooking the lake but we were close enough to see out anyway. Check this place out for sure!

The view of the lake was gorgeous, and our server georgette was friendly and very attentive. The crab dip was served w garlic bread and was divine! The Dutch’s chicken was savory and delicious. The blackened catfish could rival the catfish I get down home in NC.

It’s been years since we’ve been to The Silver Tree. We had fond memories and returned and were rewarded with a pleasant environment, excellent food, and abundant service. The seafood platter was one of the best I’ve ever had. The lobster tail, both in size and quality, surpassed my expectations and I was eating Maine lobsters last year and they were no where near as good. We were extremely happy with our meals when the manager approached us and apologized for the lateness of the entrée. We hadn’t even noticed the time but she offered us free desserts. The cheesecake was huge and delicious. We wouldn’t have changed a thing. Everything was excellent!

We were 20 mins late for our reso(8:20) and even though the restaurant closed at 9:30, the hostess made us feel welcomed and the server was especially friendly . We started with the bacon wrapped scallops. They did not have a nice sear(most likely broiled) but were satisfying nonetheless. I chose the filet Oscar… The steak itself was under seasoned, but was exceptional with the crab imperial on top. I would definitely order it again.

This place is awesome. I had the blackened Cajun chicken Alfredo. It was really good. The service was really friendly. This place has a great atmosphere for a romantic date. The price is worth it if you see the portions. Try to share a meal at first to see how much you get. I will be back.

We are at Dutch’s last night and had a great experience. We originally tried the upstairs white tablecloth restaurant as walk ins and were told, not particularly kindly, that they were full but we could try the bar downstairs. Were we ever glad we did! We were immediately seated at a table with a great lake view, drink orders were taken and delivered promptly, and a nice bread board with oatmeal whole wheat bread appeared quickly. Our server took our orders in a timely fashion and was pleasant and helpful. The fried calamari appetizer was absolutely terrific — tender calamari, very light, crisp and greaseless crust, and two delicious sauces. It was so good it was all we could do to stop ourselves from ordering a second plate. The crab bread was delicious but could have been a bit hotter. That didn’t stop us from eating every crumb of it, though. Salad are nothing to write home about — they look identical to the ones served at the Outback and other such chain restaurants — and I can’t say a whole lot about the plating, but the food was amazing. I got the crab imperial and crab cake combination, my husband had fried oysters, and my sister got fried shrimp, all beautifully prepared and served at the perfect temperature. My kids got mac and cheese and pizza from the kids menu, which were fine. I got into a conversation with a local woman in the ladies’ room and she told me about an appetizer that isn’t on the menu that all the locals order — coconut shrimp with orange marmalade dipping sauce. My husband loves coconut shrimp and we are planning another trip to Deep Creek next summer so we will be sure to try it. Service was excellent and without any of the issues that other reviewers seem to have had. The only real negatives were the snippy hostess upstairs and the live music, which was nice but a little loud for comfortable conversation. We will definitely go back next time we visit the area.

Wanted to end our vacation to DCL with a nice dinner. We had a party of 5 on July 4th with a reservation about 6pm. We were seated quickly, but it took THREEHOURS to get through dinner. THREEHOURS. It took 30 minutes to get drinks. BECAUSETHEREWERENOCLEANGLASSES. That early, there were no clean glasses. On the plus side, the food was fantastic. And our waitress was very sweet. We received free dessert for our long wait. But, we probably won’t visit this restaurant again.
