Worst buffet I ever being to, crappy food and service, empty food trays, something that u DNT expect to see at a buffet, don’t take a chance and just go somewhere else. Food quality bad.

Good quality and value for the price you pay. They have clams, fish, lobster, crab, fruits, veggies, sushi and more. Dinner is under $ 20/person. No time limit, spacious restaurant, good for large groups and bathrooms are decently clean.

A Chinese buffet that does hot pot on the side(for a small cost of course)… interesting. My fam likes coming to buffets so that they don’t have to decide what the table is going to eat — everyone just figures it out for themselves. This particular one… not one of my faves. They have a decent size selection of food that ranges from Chinese food to seafood to sushi, but everything tasted less than mediocre. There were a few items that were more okay than others, but I wasn’t a huge fan of anything. I ate mostly seafood and fried stuff. I did not touch the sushi — it looked like something you shouldn’t eat. We also got the hot pot. The soup base was eh and the quality of meat/veg was eh. It was good because it was a hot dish and it was cold out, but other than that, I probably would have passed. Overall, I’ve been to better. This place isn’t cheap for a weekend dinner either.

I do not ever anticipate to come back. The food level seems to deteriorate. There isn’t much of a selection for the prices they charge. Not worth another visit.

+/-THE FOOD At first glance, you think there’s a huge selection but after you come back after several rounds of food, there’s actually not much. This location has a lot of seafood and caters a bit more to Chinese people. However, the food here isn’t super fresh so don’t expect gourmet dining. Some of the salmon sashimi was great and fresh but the rest were mushy and a bit nasty. The oysters were a huge disappointment because they had an awful mushy texture. The black bean clams were too soaked in sauce. The soups were pretty tasteless and not authentic. The boiled shrimps, however, were pretty good because you can eat them however you want. I also enjoyed the fuzzy melon because it had a delicious broth it was cooked in. It’s also kind of hard to mess that up unless you overcook it. I wish this buffet was more like the San Leandro location because that one has more meat selection(they even have a guy dedicated to carving meat!!), but that one seems to cater non-Asians more. + THESERVICE Most of the servers speak limited English but if you talk to them in Cantonese, you’re all good. Some foods weren’t out yet and all you have to do is ask for them and they’ll come out with a full tray. The servers come by pretty often to clear your plates.

Not very expensive, but food is average and good dishes are scarce. They have a schedule to refill the salmon sushi. The plate was empty the entire time I was in there.

Came here around 7pm on a Thursday night and it was dead empty. I remember when this place first open it was so good and pack. I guess not no more. Food wasn’t as great. They didn’t refill most the food plus some food look old and stale. The drink is self served. First time going to a buffet where they have a mango icee. Overall I think I prefer the San leandro location more. The quality of food was not there.

Yuck. Awful. Dirty. Gross. Empty food trays?! I’ve never been to a buffet where there was not enough food to fill my plate. I actually complained to the server about the lack of food… at only 7:30pm. They also charge for kids 2 and up. Nowhere else charges for kids that age. Weekday dinner prices: $ 17/pp for 12 and up. $ 1.40 per year of age for kids 2 – 11. I had to look around for clean plates. After 5 plates, i found one without food residue on it. The bathroom was beyond gross. There was shitssssss everywhere!!! EVERYWHERE! It looked like someone had food poisoning and could not hold it anymore and missed the toilet completely. The food that was there was… gross. The crab was not fresh. Never again. As I’m writing this, my 4 year old nephew is throwing up… in the car.

Been to both lunch and dinner service — lunch being a better value. There were a lot of items served at both. Difference is cheaper price for lunch, seafood options for dinner. I suggest lunch for a first experience! Food itself was good. Good chance to try items like pigs blood and all the various smaller platters. Just nothing outstanding. I’ll come back when I feel like gorging after a day running errands.

Of all places I’ve been to that are gross this one beats them all. 0 stars from us. My boyfriend and I came here to eat and see what it was about. Where to start off??? Well there was sushi, which looked like the display items in a window and the rest of the buffet wasn’t hard to see it had been sitting out ALLDAY. Service was expected at a restaurant such as this one. $ 40 dollars for day old food, what a bargain!!! The inside was beat up and looked run down, there were only about four customers in there before us and all you heard in the environment was silence. This place screamed«Help! I’m dying!!!» Although, they did have some peculiar items on the menu, some looked as if they were trying to come back to life, my boyfriend who only ate soup and one piece of meat ended up throwing up outside, on a good note their coca cola was daRish-ish! I do advise however not to come here unless you’ve absolutely never had Asian food ever in your life but even then please don’t come here!!!

I’ve gone here a couple of times for lunch on my break and the foods been great, good choices and quite fresh. But I came tonight at dinner with my bf and it was cold, the choices were thinned, nothing is stocked, and it’s just all around not as good as mid day. I guess I can’t complain about the lack of sticking seeing as their closing soon but the cold few choices I did have kinda sucked. I guess if you want a good experience here, go during the lunch shift, better food choices, it’s hotter and more clean and sanitary and yolk get it all for a decent price… and finishing our meal now my bf found a bug in his food!!! A live bug!!! Not comming back

This place was awful!!! food was cold, frozen heated shrimp, $ 20.00 for all u can eat crap! Sushi bar ??? What sushi bar! we waited for the lobster and as soon as it came out! They were digging in it like it was the last meal and we had to wait for more. It’s not at all authentic Chinese food. The food is frozen, pre cooked and heated!!! it was the worst! Experience ever!!! Don’t not believe the good reviews on here, people are not being honest, believe the honest reviews. If you don’t want to be upset do not go here!!! Bottom line!!! It’s crap!!!

I expected this place to give more food choices, but seeing how they served a lot of seafood, such as crabs, mussels, etc, it’s totally worth the 17 bucks for dinner. The staff is pretty helpful. They helped my vegetarian friend figure out what dishes she could eat. Maybe it’s because we came here an hour before they close, but the food wasnt so tasty and fresh. There werent a lot of desserts out either.

Cheap price 18 dollars for dinner, all the food(seafood, meat, Chinese food, American style food) you can eat… some of the taste was good. Some was so so. but you will definitely find the ones you like.

TL;DR: Food is nothing memorable, but the price can’t be beat(for lunchtime). I never think any buffet is really worth it, though I suppose most people just pay to have the variety. That being said, this is a decent buffet for $ 9.99/person during lunchtime. Because of the cheap price, nobody should really be complaining about the food — its actually pretty good for being mass produced. What else do you expect for what you’re paying? They have a huge variety — dim sum, sushi, soups, stir fry, noodles, clams, fried rice, desserts and so much more! Nothing fantastic, nothing horrible. Some of my favorites include the fried breaded shrimp and clams in black bean sauce. I’m pretty sure anyone can find something they like here. I’ve never been here for dinner so I can’t speak for whether its worth the added cost to have more items that aren’t available at lunch(mainly, oysters and lobster), but lunch is pretty good if you’re looking to sample a large variety of authentic and Americanized Chinese dishes for a very fair price. This is not somewhere I’d choose to go on my own volition, but I wouldn’t be opposed to coming here again if my family or friends wanted to. If you bring 4 or more paying adults on your birthday, the birthday person eats for free!

I was rolling to Buffet Fortuna for my Brother in Laws Brothers Baby Shower. I parked my Whip Black Beauty a few blocks away and Street Hiked to Buffet Fortuna. No Parking lot, Just street parking. We had the Back Banquet room. There was an LCDTV for Entertainment. They had a Wide Variety of Foods and Dim Sum and Soups . Self serve Soda Fountain. Dessert Bar Foods Average Quality, Prices are fair. I would eat there again.

If you’ve read any of my previous reviews you’ll notice that I’m a big fan of Chinese buffets. Unfortunately, in LA, often times when you reference a Chinese buffet people will immediately think of broccoli beef, orange chicken, crab legs, and that low quality cheap sushi. So, when I visited buffet fortuna I went in with the same mentality that I normally would when I visit any other Chinese buffet. However, I was blindsided by a plethora of authentic Chinese entrees which made me giddy like a little school girl at a One Direction concert. As soon as my party was seated I bolted over to the steam trays. One by one I scanned each and every item. I was delighted to see a nice assortment of dim sum, marinated pork belly, blood pudding, egg rolls, soups, sushi, chicken feet, and of course the usual Chinese buffet staples like orange chicken and broccoli beef and more. I tried my very best to try every single entrée item, even the more adventurous foods, and I have to say that I was quite satisfied with almost all my selections. But what I enjoyed the most was the dim sum. I rarely ever have the chance to eat dim sum so I was extremely excited to load my plate full of shrimp, pork, and salmon dumplings. I came here during lunch time, so it cost around $ 10 per person, but if you come around dinner time expect to pay upwards to $ 17 – 20 per person. Overall if you’re looking for a solid Chinese buffet and you’re on Broadway in Oakland than give Buffet Fortuna a try. And if you’re like me and you want to experience a truly authentic Chinese buffet than I’d strongly recommend giving Buffet Fortuna a run for your money. To awesome eatings! :D

The atmosphere is cafeteria like, the prices low, and the food good but not outstanding. There is lots of choice, with things that you don’t see in an Asian/American restaurant. The main attraction here is lots of interesting authentic food and they don’t rush you out. You can literally eat and chat for hours. Great if you have to do a dinner meeting.
