I’d been here when it was on San Pablo, and in general, I think the quality declined. CONS: The dressing on the cucumber salad was too salty. The roasted tofu was too hard. They ran out of baklavas. :( PROS: Service was friendly Roasted chicken was succulent Little potato-filled egg roll type of thing was pretty good Turkish coffee

LOVE this place! We have gone for dinner and also once scored their dinner buffet, which was completely off the chain. BF and I are both gluten free and dairy free, and they had a ton of stuff for both of us that was beyond delicious. Usually GF/DF stuff is lame and flat, but this was completely delightful and satisfying(both the menu and the brunch). We are going to try their breakfast brunch next!

The ratings are off, maybe the people rating the place are the people that work there or freinds of the restaurant owners. Its Friday and the price is $ 11.50 for the evening for the poor excuse of a buffet they were displaying but I should have order from the menu instead! Well you get what you pay for.
Service was great, environment was soothing, they had jazz music playing. I had the Organic BBQ chicken, Veggie Mushaka, Organic veggie curry, and meat loaf. I grabbed about two plates of each because the food was warm not hot and ready, they had other stuff but it was not worth grabbing. There was little to choose from the buffet was small not appealing to the public but more so just a few. once again you get what you pay for. Most of the food was cold and it looked like the food was sitting there all day. They had yogurt mixed with cucumbers and mashed potatoes with marshmallows. Not so great. I told my girl not to eat the soup she grabbed it anyways and she only had two zips before she called it quits. I gave it three stars my girl changed my rating to two. If you feel cheap and feel like limiting your choices to 2 choices of meat give it a try if not don’t waist your money eat from the menu and better yet just go somewhere else. Could of got a better deal for $ 30 somewhere else

Im not usually a huge fan of Mediterranean food but this place is incredible. And you can’t beat the price. It’s about 13 $ a person for the buffet and you can even take things to go. They have a great selection of salads, fruits and veggies, as well as meat and fish dishes. I would recommend the steel head trout with rice! The also have sweet lemon rice pudding which reminds me of home. The tea selection is also fantastic. The herbal is my favorite. There are also options for bottomless mimosas for an additional charge if that’s your style. I will certainly be coming back!

The food is great. Fresh, well prepared, with great recipes. In addition, their MLK Day lunch buffet was the easily most beautiful buffet I have seen. It made me respect the chef and staff that much more. They do a great job here and clearly take pride and pleasure in their work.

Heaven! Most days I come out so happy, full and healthy. They always have an amazing variety of awesome roasted veggies to eat, great chicken with a Mediterranean flair. Today the slow cooked lamb stew with chick peas blew me away. The buffet for lunch is my «go to» meal a few times a week. Friday’s I sometimes feel the choices aren’t as awesome but hey, no place is perfect 100%. The waitstaff is also a pleasure. Go here for the lunch buffet. Yum.

Delicious food, great service, cute ambiance, brunch with $ 10 bottomless Mimosas, this place has it all! The food is delicious. There are plenty of great vegetarian options. And the brunch selection, though not typical, is fantastic. Also, the weekday happy hour includes pita and hummus with a beer. Both the fresh pita and the hummus are great. The service is exceptional. The servers are friendly, attentive, and courteous. A+ The ambiance is great! The patio is cute with a nice view of the lake and park. Inside has an appealing Mediterranean ambiance. And they play a good mix of music. And for brunch, aside from the great buffet(try the bread pudding!), there are $ 10 bottomless Mimosas. Bacheesos has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Oakland!

I absolutely love this place! The owner is on top of his restaurant, and it shows. Immaculately clean, cozy atmosphere, great food and service. I particularly love their Joojeh, Koobideh, and Lamb combination plate! They are also great at catering. I had them cater for our kids birthday party, and the guests loved the food. Highly recommend!!!

Ohh Bacheesos! Where to start? I haven’t been here for anything but their buffet, and buffet style is usually not my favorite.(Unless we’re in Vegas of coarse) This spot is a gem! A cute eye catching location. [On the corner across from fairyland) Vibrant, cultural décor is always pleasant. The outside patio area is very cozy with beautiful fabric + throw pillows on the benches. Ideal location for the amazing spring + summer seasons in the bay! However the parking in this area is not the greatest, good luck finding some residential parking. The main reason for the 4& not 5 stars. On this particular day we ate inside to keep warm + my boyfriend wanted to keep an eye on Sunday afternoon football. Greeted with smiles instantly & told to sit anywhere we’d like. There was a good amount of people for Sunday around 1pm which I expected, but it cleared out quick. The variety of food was pleasing + the tastes were great. I love a flavorful spread of vegetarian options! My boyf loved the French toast. I would have loved to see more Seafood options. The endless mimosa for $ 10 is also why Bacheesos is at the top of the list :)

The food was a ten both in presentation and taste. Although not a vegetarian, I really enjoyed the beauty and fresh taste of the food, plenty of choices. I also had the Greek beer on tap which as great. I will return another time soon as the location is great. Patio in front is beautiful.

Finally a buffet with a great assortment! It’s no wonder this place is busy. A small but tasty and very well done buffet with great people and a decent selection of draft micros! The interior is clean and unique with a lovely outdoor seating selection! I will for sure be back!

Good place to eat a nice selection of quality foods at the Buffett. It is rare to find buffets woth organic food and high nutrition values but this place does it. The food tastes great. It gets a little lively as it is full of late 20 and 30 something crowds. The price is great, less than $ 13 for a Sunday brunch buffet. However, lately there has been more sad, tense moms with too little love and too much time on their hands, dragging with their kids around. They have attitude because no one loves them. So show them some love will ya? Other than children and sad moms in a place clearly for adults it is a great place to enjoy good, great staff, and a fun atmosphere.

This is a place we meet regularly after walking the lake or just some Girlfriends time. Sometimes we have tea and sometimes we have dinner,(the lollipop lamb chops are to die for) but whether we eat a meal or have tea only, Deepak is always there with a ready smile and treats us like Queens. He is a major part of the charm of this wonderful little gem. I have tried the trout, chicken and did I mention the lamb chops… lol whatever you choose I think you will enjoy…5 stars for Deepak and Bacheesos

Came here for their lunch buffet, its only 11.9 which is a great deal!!! The location is great, its just next to the beautiful lake Merritt, good for family or friends hangout.(Def sit at the patio outside) For the buffet, they provide large variety of veggies, and some meat options, you don’t feel guilty even eat a lot hahaha. I love their chicken in tomato sauce, so tasty!!! But the other food were just average, tasted a bit cold. At the end, I ordered a Persian saffron tea, which was good compliment. Will come here for sure with my boyfriend!

Bacheesos is quirky and I love it. The buffet is killer, and the blue bottles in the window and the décor make this place decidedly Berkeley. The buffet has all the things – lots of veggies, raw and cooked; meat, if that’s what you’re into(the lamb is awesome); and great bread and hummus. Yes, please. Plus, they institute a $ 5 fee for wasted food, as they donate their leftover food to feed the homeless. Yes and yes and yes. The good: nom it all. The bad: we got asked about four times if we wanted anything to drink other than water. No, thank you4.

Went looking for a Sunday Brunch that had a lot of Vegetarian options and came across this place. We were having Brunch with my daughter and her vegetarian friends. The décor is minimal. The buffet is $ 13 per person. The buffet: Several salads Salsa Marinated Bananas Hummus Stir fry string beans Several Potato dishes A Pita pizza with fried egg Bread Pudding Marinated Cucumbers Rice 3 meat dishes Curry Salmon Lamb and veggies Chicken in some herb soup The meat dishes are not good. Service was slow even just clearing the plates. The opinions of the vegetarians was good for the veggie dishes.
