Loved my veggie sandwich on sourdough. Very helpful staff. Ordered lunch for 8 people have ready by 11:45. I arrived at 11:40 it was waiting for me. Perfect lunch meeting and great food and service. Thanks for holding the back door for me twice.

If you want loads of sodium, fat calories or heavy on the carbs, you can just pick any of the fast food joints that are abundant in Oakdale. But if you want something extraordinary, I recommend Café Bliss. I have been a steady customer of Jim’s(the owner) little gem for 17 years now. Whatever you order, it will be delightfully presented, of the utmost quality and freshest ingredients and outstanding flavor. If you’re going for lunch, I recommend you get there either by 11:30 a.m. or wait until after 1:00. They are a hit with the locals, and seating at noon can be at a premium. Cost? You won’t find any $ 2.50 burgers here, most lunches will run on average from $ 8-$ 10 but then you’ll get more than a misshapen bun, barely any filling and greasy fries! The menu is varied enough to please any palate, and if they haven’t run out of taco soup, you must try it! Oh, and their fruit salad? A wonderful mix of a variety of fresh fruits, nicely cut bite size(no tasteless melon with rind still attached here).

I am living in the Bay Area, and whenever I am in Oakdale Town my husband and I always want to have lunch at Café Bliss. I love the clam chowder soup which tastes delicious like the home made food. The pastrami– Swiss meltdown and turkey melt are my favorite sandwiches here. Shrimp Quesadilla is very unique serving with pineapple salsa sauce. Yummy Yummy :)

Our family went here for lunch — really enjoyed the food — the Napa salad is delicious(we had it as a side) I liked the special of the day which was a chicken/red pepper sandwich — Reuben was a hit with 2 family members but my husband got the pastrami and said it was good but just a basic pastrami sandwich. He loved the taco soup though! You order at the counter and then find a place to sit — we had 8 of us and it’s kind of a small place but we were able to sit all together. Would recommend! The sign says they close at 2, just fyi, maybe because it’s the off season?

The food wasn’t great but wasn’t bad. Got the garden salad came with sprouts cucumbers, tomatoes, and avocado. Salad was ok, I assumed from the description on the menu it was spring mix salad or similar. The salad was iceberg lettuce, but very fresh. Just not what I expected. I also got the apple butternut soup… it was amazing! Each one of us had a salad and a similar experience. Staff was very friendly, service was quick.

I worked in Oakdale for 5 years and this is one of the pleasures I miss so much! So nice and relaxed, but the food is fresh, delicious, and leaves you full but not uncomfortable or bloated. Jim is the owner and pleasant to see, although some of the staff could smile more they are prompt and not exactly rude just busy. It’s reasonable in the price range but about 10 $ average– and its nice to have this alternative next to all the fast food in the area. It always gave me my second wind before starting the second ½ of my day.

This is such a wonderful little place to eat lunch. We have loved everything we have ever ordered here. Our favorite thing to get would have to be the pizza arams. Their specials change every day and are posted on Facebook. The service is pretty awesome too.

We came here since we were meeting up my cousin and her family taking a break before heading up to Hetch Hetchy. Food: I ordered the Cobb Salad with a dinner roll and my friend ordered the vegetarian sandwich with a soda. My Cobb Salad was pretty standard. The dinner roll was one that you get from the grocery store that comes in bags of 12. My friend seemed to enjoy his sandwich, but the funniest thing was the fact that his soda came in a giant styrofoam cup. Who uses styrofoam anymore? Ambiance: Super casual lunch place. They were fairly busy with what seemed to be locals. Service: The lady taking our orders was nice. Would I return? Maybe if I needed a quick lunch and was in the area.

Café Bliss is a tasty delight! I work in town and my employer often treats to various local eateries, delivered to the office. Café Bliss is one of my favorites. There is a nice variety in the menu, allowing for healthy choices or delicious indulgences, of which I have sampled from both categories. The Miranda salad is very popular in our office, and I most recently have been hooked on the spinach quiche. Our office is obsessed with the banana cupcakes. If there’s a craving in the morning, we call them«muffins» to justify an early indulgence(hey, bananas are fruit!). Quality, presentation and attention to detail are the shining star of this establishment. Each time our office calls(many times already at the start of the lunch rush), our orders are always delivered on time, packaged beautifully with each person’s name. The owner delivers personally, unpacks, arranges and double checks every order to ensure every order is as requested. Our office confidently orders from Café Bliss when we have guests, knowing they will be impressed with the presentation and flavor. We appreciate being confident in the consistency that Café Bliss exudes. Truly a gem for Oakdale!

Yum. Just passing through on our way back to Sonora– stopped for lunch. I ordered half a «build your own sandwich»(turkey on rustic wheat bread). The bread and veg were super fresh. My friend ordered this roll up turkey thing(sorry, I can’t remember it’s name) but it was on… Cracker bread? I don’t know. She said it was delicious. I also got a cup of clam chowder: house made and good flavor… Next time though I’m going to try a salad because two little grannies sat near us with what looked like taco salads and they looked amazing.

Have lived in Oakdale for four years but haven’t tried this place. A local shop owner recommended the place and we are thoroughly enjoying our decision to eat here! Cute little place with delicious food. Come on down and try it yourself. You will be full and pleased with your choice to eat here!

Café Bliss has been in Oakdale for at least 25 years. That’s quite an achievement for this small town! The food has always been excellent. They have delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, and daily specials. I have some diet restrictions which isn’t a problem; the staff accommodates me and often makes helpful suggestions. I value the willingness to work with me! They also have an espresso bar that is fabulous. This little jewel is open for breakfast and lunch, with breakfast available anytime. Parking is available in the back and on the streets. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

From outside this Café doesn’t look like much, but the moment you enter it’s bursting with life. Food is surprisingly good for such a small town. I went here for breakfast but the cashier was nice and let me order a Reuben sandwich which was from the lunch menu and sounded like it would be really yummy. It was excellent. Tasty and juicy with a bit of tartness on a beautiful marbled rye. Everything a Reuben should be. It came with a tasty slice of watermelon, perfectly ripe. Looked like the spot is also very popular with the locals since during the time I was there there was not a slow moment. Despite their popularity the service was fast and nice. The pastries are delicious, especially the scones. Overall this place is really great, if you’re passing through this town it’s worth a visit. My only complaint would be the odd fact that the silverware at this place seems to be a heavily guarded treasure and can not be found anywhere. Inquire carefully!

Iced breve mocha: super delicious, tastes like they have really good espresso, shoulda tried a cappuccino :) B.L.A.T. on sourdough: tasty bacon, shredded lettuce, good tomato/avo… Toasted bread will scratch your gums(or does that just happen to me?) but it’s worth it. Kale vegetable soup: fresh and full of good veggies! The dinner roll with it wasn’t too exciting though. Overall this place seems to serve fresh, well-made food and really good espresso. The guy who made the mocha seemed to be the manager and knew his way around the espresso bar. We were driving through from yosemite, or i’d say i’d be back :)
