So happy I came here! My color and cut was spot on! But on top of the wonderful job my stylist (Josie) did for me, I loved the atmosphere and look of this place as well. Everyone was friendly and nice. Receptionist was very nice also! Will definitely be returning!

Marina is not only the sweetest, but she is by far the most accommodating and talented stylist you’ll find. When I met her and and the staff there, I knew I found a home. She’s patient and concerned, genuinely concerned, about how her clients feel and look. Also, Noir will give you the best head/​neck massage you will find anywhere around the tri county area. Do not hesitate to make an appointment. You will be so happy you did, trust me… I’m very picky.

I stopped into Elle just to see if I could get my brows done, I am so glad I did this! Marina is an incredible eyebrow stylist! I have never been so happy with the way my eyebrows look! She only tweezes so she doesn’t take off too much, and explains how she will shape them ahead of time so you know what to expect. She’s wonderful! Easy to talk to and truly remembers her clients! Besides that brows are super affordable! It cost the same as any salon, but she is so detailed oriented and will never remove too much. I’m getting my first cut there next week and I can’t wait to see what she will do!

let me start by saying I love my hair and after years of searching for a salon that not only cut my hair the way I like it but also styles, colors and is passionate about it I finally found my go to spot. I first went to Elle almost three years ago off a groupon I had purchased. Its a beautiful salon that makes you feel like you are at home by the fireplace with friends. I had an appointment with Marina (one of the owners) and instantly was greeted with such love that I felt like I had known her for years. I asked for trim and if they could work through the years of damage I had done to my hair by coloring at «cheaper» salons. She did such an amazing job I have continued to go back year after year. Not only do I get haircuts and color jobs done but I also go to get my eyebrows done and styles for events and weddings. Now when I go in I just tell Marina to do whatever she wants with my hair and I always leave loving it! Besides the passion and love for their company and what they do the main reason I go back is because I feel I have a family there. I don’t think I have ever felt so much love from a group of people that I see every few months. Yes they are pro’s at what they do but they are also the most genuine and wonderful people I have met in a long time. I urge you to give this place a chance you wont be disappointed.
ps I drive over 45 minutes to get to their salon from work and my new home, its worth it to me everytime :)

Gjoni and Marina are amazing! I have never had so many compliments or felt so at home like I do at ELLE! They treat everyone like family and make sure you leave feeling beautiful! Anyone looking for a beautiful cut and/​or color should book their next appointment at this salon. The salon is beautifully kept up and both my sister and I love it here!

I have been going to Gjoni for almost a year now, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience. I get SO many compliments on my color, it’s definitely an ego boost!
The old saying «you get what you pay for» and at ELLE you sure do! You pay for premium products, experience, and excellent service.

Gjoni and his family are awesome. I love my cut. The amount of attention that you get here is unbelievable. You don’t get treated like a customer or a number, you get treated like a loved one or a member of the family. The salon is clean, beautiful and very well run. I love my hair cut. After returning to the area I needed to find a new salon. The reviews were so favorable that I chose Elle. They have been the most pleasant, skillful, lovely people! My hair looks so beautiful and i have talked about the other services so much that now my Sister comes here too! The whole staff knows how to treat you! Try the caviar conditioning treatment for a real hair treat!

I was not happy with this place. Why:
— We walk in and say that we are with a wedding party. The appointments were set up a while back by the bride. Instead of, «welcome, we’ve been expecting you!», we get «um, huh?». Really?
— They quoted my friend (the bride) one price, and then they charged us another. My hair took all of 20 minutes to do and he wanted $ 85 when we were quoted $ 65 (still too much IMO). Bad form.
— One of the bridesmaids that got makeup ended up paying $ 110 when we were quoted $ 75. Again, bad, bad form. I honestly don’t understand this at all. It is unacceptable.
— They offered me a mimosa — I said yes. It never happened. Just continuing to kill me here.
I would honestly give only 1 star, but the people are overall nice. It’s just that these things make this place very «meh». I hope that this review makes them think twice about what they quote and what they charge. I’m angry that I ended up spending $ 90 (including tip) to get my hair done for one evening. That’s just not okay.

After hearing such great reviews about this salon I had to make it a priority to come see for myself… Everything from the service to the décor was immaculate. They truly do stand by their motto since I felt right at home the minute I walked in. The concierge was so friendly and pleasant. Gjoni my stylist was fantastic and payed attention to every detail making sure I was completely satisfied. I’ll definitely make sure to visit again if I need a cut on my next trip to Michigan. I called ahead and had the salon hold two bottles of Kevin Murphy dry shampoo. I came into the salon around 6pm to pick it up and walked up to an empty receptionist desk. There were 3 people around the corner with clients so I browsed their selection of products, walked back and forth multiple times between one side of the salon to the other, made eye contact with ²⁄₃ stylists and stood at the counter for another 10 minutes assuming someone would come assist me. I never even got a «Can I help you?», «Hi», «Be with you in a second»…just blank stares as if they didn’t want to make an easy $ 70. I walked out and drove home.
It’s disappointing since they are one of the only salons who carry Kevin Murphy in this area. I’ll go to the other salon in Royal Oak and give them my business instead.
Please learn to greet your customers.

In the past, I’ve purchased groupons for salons and have left extremely dissatisfied. I’m happy to say that after my recent trip to Elle, I’m beyond thrilled with my new color and cut. Gina was my stylist, and prior to starting anything, she asked what I wanted to have done, gave me her suggestions, and a price. She offered various treatments, and I picked exactly what I wanted to have done — no surprises.
Everyone at the salon was incredibly nice, and it was a very relaxing experience from start to finish. I’ve only had my new hair for a few days, but I’ve already received tons of compliments. I will definitely be going back for future services.
My only piece of advice would be to remember cash for tips! I’m used to using my debit card every where I go, so be prepared!

Not spectacular. It was nothing different from any other cut/​color/​style I’ve had before. Except this time dark dye dried over my hairline and face so I left looking like Eddie Munster.

I have been going to Jayme for close to a year now and I think she does a fantastic job. I get compliments on my color often and she really spends time trying to get exactly what I am looking for. I think everyone there is nice. My only complaint is the pricing, its steep. I dont hesitate to pay salon prices, I just think they have overpriced themselves and it costs them in the long run

High Quality Environment, Staff, and Personal service. The talent at this salon is a true gift to the area. Owners Gjonnie and sister Marina make all feel welcome whether you are new client or long time guest.
I use to have to sacrafice kind treatment whenever I went to upscale salons in the past; salon Elle accomodiates ones «unexpressed» wishes and needs and gives an upscale salon experience with a warm family feel.
I am budget minded and feel that the prices are justified for the high end products they use that are mostly organic and most healthy for your hair. As a 45 year old woman that is PRICELESS.

I would recommend Elle’s services to anyone and, in fact, have referred several of my friends to them. Family oriented salon, staff that listens to you and cares! Whenever I make an appointment, I feel like I am going to visit friends :)
If you get the opportunity to stop in at Elle, you’d be crazy to pass it up!

I went there for an all over color. I had dyed my hair blond and I wanted to go back to dark brown. They are extremely nice there and try the best for you to feel welcome. I really really cannot complain about the treatment there. I got home and I was not fully happy with the color and I went back there the next day and they were absolutely nice and had no problem darkening a bit more to please me. So, yes, I cannot complain about service, they do the best to please you.
But a week (yes, a week, 7 days later) my hair had fully faded and was blond again. That’s why I did not stick with them and why I am giving them a bad review.
The only positive thing I can say about their dye is it did not damage my hair at all (my biggest fear)
I was giving them the «benefit of the doubt» assuming my hair was a hard case, that’s why I took so long to write a review.
Then I went to another salon to get again it dyed brown. It has lasted 8 months so far. Elle cost: $ 140 + tip. The other salon? $ 70+tip. Price means nothing.

The services I received were good and my hair turned out nice, though I do think the consultation could have gone much better. Like a lot of other people out there, I am on a budget with many things which includes hair services. The stylist and I discussed what I had in mind for the color. When I called the salon to make my appointment, I was told the service would cost around $ 125 including the cut (which would have been an all-​over color and some block coloring). I was shocked when I was charged $ 195!
While I was happy with her work, I would have chose another route if she would have discussed the total price with me during the consultation. I did not expect the stylist to use the amount of foil to where she could charge for a partial highlight along with my original quoted price, as she did not state that she would be doing a partial highlight. I’m not trying to bash this salon, as they produce good quality work; some stylists seem to forget the importance of a thorough consultation. This is the only thing that prevents me from coming back for future services.

Very nice salon! They have been open 1 year now — it’s clean and well organized. Marina did my hair — cut, color and deep conditioning treatment. She was super friendly and offered some great advice. They even serve wine! They use all Kerastase products and my hair feels healthy, light and clean. And smells good too.
I have two small criticisms: 1) plan to spend a while there. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy relaxing and spending a few hours at the salon with a good book and glass of wine, this is just a warning. 2) Prices are a bit steep. If you want and expect good service and great hair you won’t mind paying the price.
Overall, highly recommended.
