So I came for happy hour on a Tues. The female bartender bar apparently didn’t like my tank top and shorts. Barely acknowledged me. She only cared about her peeps she was chatting up. Ordered pot stickers. Took forever and no one was even in the place. And they were sooo bland. And the wifi didn’t work. Boooo Wildfox!

Had a last minute need to find a place for dinner in Novato. A friend suggested Wildfox, and on a Saturday night at 7, we were actually able to get a table on the small patio in the front, which was great, because it was not too noisy. Two of us had the Bistro Steak Frites, cooked perfectly medium rare, along with great french fries. My Mom had the prawn risotto, which was delicious. Typical California fare prices, but the food and the service were very good. Would definitely go again.

If I could give a zero star, I would. We arrived the restaurant at 6:45pm and were informed that the dinner table would be ready at 7:15pm. We arrived on time and the table was still not ready. The hostess clearly made a mistake because after another 35 mins of wait, she told us there was still no table. I couldn’t help but feel very perplexed because I could clearly see an open table in the front of the restaurant that could accommodate our group the whole time. The hostess wasted an hour of our time and gave us a very insincere apology at the end. This is not how I would treat my customers if I were her. We ended up going to a restaurant called Toast which I would highly recommend.

Côte and his Manager made us feel welcome and valued, despite the fact that only 12 of the planned for 20 showed up. They had set up the back room and reserved it for the local Baha’i community to celebrate the 172nd Anniversary of the declaration of the Bab. He gave us great guidance and suggestions(who new Brussels sprouts could actually taste good! — we ended up getting a second plate of them for the table). And when we reminded him that we were a dry group he happily cleared off the wine glasses despite knowing that it meant the bill(thus the tip) would be half without the alcohol sales. We did not hear a bad word from any of the group about anything that was ordered from Potato Au Gratin to New York steaks. Some our group were from Crescent City and places north, having being with us in Vallejo for a weekend long conference, so it was a delight to treat them to a special dinner in front of a roaring fire in the back room before they headed back the next day. Thanks so much Côte and all the staff. If you don’t mind such a cheap group we’ll be back for future events — but hopefully with a better turnout!

Just had the greatest meal and a wonderful Sunday evening! A group of friends reserved a room with a fireplace for a special event, and although the number of attendees was smaller than expected, the staff were lovely and accommodating. My Seared Salmon Cobb Salad was crazy-good; the eleven other members of our party all enjoyed their various meals; we ordered Crispy Brussel Sprouts to share, and then ordered more because they were so good. The portions were so generous no-one had room for dessert — but someone ordered the Warm Caramel Center Chocolate Cake anyway and passed it around. It was so good that I plan to return and just order that. The service was SO good. Our waiter, Cote, was totally warm and gracious, even when I managed to spill a dish of sauce all over the carpet. He brought us all separate checks even though it was a large gathering and we had been told it would be put on one tab. I live only 2 miles away. I’ve enjoyed several meals here over the past ten years, and after tonight, Wildfox is on my radar and I intend to return much more frequently!

I want to go back to give it another try because everyone was really nice and the atmosphere was good. I got the fish and chips and it was a little soggy(both the breading and the fries). But the rest of the menu looked good.

Being from out of town. I looked up local restaurants and up popped The Wildfox. Being in a teeshirt and blue jeans, I felt way underdressed. The food was regular, nothing more, but priced as if it were something better than regular. Meaning, my common cheese burger and fries were way over priced. I wasn’t unhappy until I heard the waitress at a different table offer that table a special. That was something I would have ordered. When I placed my order, my first option, I was told, was not being served that day. So I was undecided on what to eat. No special was offered to me. So I felt a bit slighted. I asked my waiter why I wasn’t offered the special, his response was, «my bad!». So my rating of a two was because of over pricing common food, and the waiters words, «my bad».

Best place in Novato for happy hour & brunch! I would come here for dinner and drinks too because I know the food is good and it’s so comfortable in their outside patio!

Not a very good food selection… and the food and service just turned me off completely. The ambience of the place is really cool… sends off good vibes… probably should only come here for drinks and pizza since that’s what everyone else seems to order.

Ordered room service since I’m at the Best Western next door. NY steak, Italian sausage pizza and calamari. The steak was rare to medium. I ordered medium well. Also, lots of nasty fat. The pizza was gross too. The calamari was soggy. Very disappointed. Over priced and disgusting.

What a charming place. The happy hour menu is very good and the quality of food is good. The service is good. The outside seating near the fireplace is Great. Locals and people staying at the hotel next door gather to visit and eat. I recommend giving this location a try, I think you’ll enjoy it like I did.

I had visited the Wild Fox on two previous occasions, most recently in October 2004. On both occasions I had felt that the experience, while not awful, was simply not worth the price. But give it a decade and perhaps I might want to make a comeback. And so it was as Christmas 2015 rolled around — I asked my sister for a gift card to serve as a holiday gift for us to try places we hadn’t recently experienced. It was a cold, bitter December night as the wife and I entered the parking lot. Certainly the right environment for going to a lodge-like establishment whose fireplace certainly does a magnificent job of making you feel warm and cozy. At some point we’ll have to visit during the summer — somehow I get the feeling we wouldn’t recognize the place. We were seated in accordance with our 6PM reservations, and served in an adequate manner. It seemed that the menu had expanded in the intervening decade(I don’t know for sure — I don’t have a 2004 menu at my convenience). For starters we had bacon French fries and the Clam Chowder, both of which I would describe as ‘scintillating’. For the main course I had the baby back ribs, washing it down with an IPA. Dessert for me was the caramel coffee cake. The meal left both me and the missus well satisfied, not requiring anything else for that evening. We got out of there for ~$ 85 before tips — while I wouldn’t say that is cheap, if you wanted that you’d go to some forsaken buffet. More than adequate for a date night.

Great spot in town right off the highway, but if you want a guarantee you’ll get a table, be sure to make a reservation as there always seems to be a wait. I don’t think there’s one thing on the menu that I’ve had and didn’t love. Burgers, fish and chips, pasta, chicken, steak, salads, to die for appetizers/small plates. I recently had the Prawn Risotto, it’s good sized portion, and you’ll keep eating even though you’re full. I’m not sure if they offer a Happy Hour or bar special but every time I’ve gone for dinner the bar area is packed! Must be a good spot for after work decompression! Cheers!

Wild Fox is a sure bet. Located right of 101 in Novato not far from San Francisco. The menu is varied and all of it looks tasty. I went with the Beef Short Ribs and also the Baby Back Ribs. Both were delicious. The portions were just right and the meat was grilled to perfection. The sides of potatoes were both solid. The service is good also.

The food is good — I’ve had the prawn risotto numerous times, as well as the steak frites, desserts such as the caramel cake, the crème brûlée, and another cookie dessert I can’t quite recall. Appetizers and side dishes are typically just under $ 10, main dishes are more around the $ 20 range, give or take some. Service can be kind of slow — I’ve been there at various times, alone, with company, in the main dining room, on the terrace, in the bar area — and it can be hard for the server to come and attend to you, even on slow nights. The one thing that irks me is the female employees — from the hostess to the bartenders. They are not pleasant, at least not to female patrons dining alone. The female staff give off that«snooty» air. Too bad I actually like the food — I prefer less salt, less sugar. Today was disappointing. I came to pick up an order to go, ordering items that I don’t usually get, and upon arriving, was directed to the bar area for pickup. The lady who attended me really didn’t care to give me my food, tell me how much it was, process my credit card payment(she went and made some drinks while holding on to my card), and then barely told me to have a good night. Not cool. The other bartender also had that same kind of attitude. They are in no hurry to be efficient or proactive to serve people. And mind you, I’m a smiley, happy person, so I’m not a negative nancy who no one wants to be around, but today’s visit left a sour taste in my mouth. I’m glad it was an order to go.

Came here during a stay at the adjacent Best Western Plus for a friend’s wedding in Sonoma. The bride’s parents kindly treated us to a lunch. It was almost completely empty which is always a little unsettling but that was no reflection of the food and service. We had a group of 7 people and our servers were great and super on top of it. My iced tea never went empty. We all split a few appetizers which were delicious. I don’t normally do brussel sprouts but theirs are delicious(cheese and bacon really makes anything taste good, am I right?). For our main course, my friend and I both ordered their fried cheese balls(Disclaimer: that’s not actually what they’re called on the menu) and a cup of tomato soup which was the perfect fall pairing. They looked like they had a great happy hour and if I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular customer. If you’re staying at the Best Western this really is a great option since they share the same parking lot and downtown Novato is a bit of a drive down the freeway. So this is the perfect close and delicious option(they do room service too).

Review is for Happy Hour only. Pro’s: Great service Wonderful selection of discounted appetizers Lounge on the Patio Cons: Not in Petaluma We tried a number of dishes and here is what I can sum it up with. Maybe a touch more salt in the Mac and Risotto balls would help elevate them. The short rib roll things were awesome, the tuna sushi roll was a bit blah and the wasabi on it could have been thinned out a tad, the ginger chicken pot stickers had a tough wrapper on them. With that being said we still enjoyed ourselves and the food, the price points are crazy good. We saw the burger came out and it looked AMAZING! I am looking forward to my next visit there!

Oh delicious. We came for the early bird special for a complimentary salad and sundae. I have tried the roast chicken, pork chop, and short ribs. All are very good and filling. The meal can tend to be rich and heavy so I usually eat only half. I love short ribs and these are fork tender and delicious. The calamari appetizer is nice with a spicy glaze on the plate. The brussel sprouts are good but tend to be burnt; I would like a fresher approach to cooking them. Overall a great meal everytime.

Decided to explore more of Novato, and this is where our exploration took us. I was very impressed. Pros: –Awesome outdoor patio seating. –If you go at certain times there is almost no wait. We went at right around 5:00 on a weekend and were seated immediately. –All the staff were very professional and polite. –I ordered the Caesar Salad, and it was absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try something else from the menu! –My boyfriend had the Asian Beef salad, and was very impressed. It was both filling and healthy. –Pretty extensive menu. Lots of different choices, including vegetarian options. –Great happy hour! Every day of the week from 3:00 to 6:00 pm I believe. Great prices too. I ordered the house white wine which was very good. –Good parking. –Good location, right off of the highway so easy to get to. –Type of place where you can either dress up, or dress more casually, saw some of both there. Cons: –Pretty spendy. –Looked like there was some stuff floating in my wine. Nothing that bad, almost looked like residue from the glass or something. Still not my favorite thing to have happen though :) –Were out of several of their main beers on tap. In their defense it was NASCAR weekend, and they said they were out because of that. In conclusion; we will be back! There are more things on the menu that I want to try, like their Pesto Farfalle! I recommend everyone to give this place a try.

Great atmosphere sitting on the patio outside. Trellis with little lights, fireplaces and a blooming Camilla. Perfect Happy Hour — we ordered several apps: risotto balls, ahi tuna and the goat cheese were our favs. The short rib egg rolls not that great. Mojito’s and cosmos are great!
