I’ve been here a few times now and am new to the area. My experience was pretty typical. It’s a sandwich shop and I got sandwiches and chips. The bread was fresh. Service was also as expected.

I don’t understand the other reviews. I’m going to this Subway quite often(close to work) and it’s a subway… The food is the same as every other subway. The staff is always nice and smiling, I really like it!

If there was a 0 star I would rate it Zero… Walked in with my 2 year old to get a sandwich. $ 5 right? I guess without guacamole… I didn’t know, they didn’t tell me. I got into an argument with the«manager». Jorge. I said I don’t want the guac. if it was $ 1.50 more — «Why didn’t you tell me?» I said. He says I have to pay the higher price. Scrape it out? Nope. Pay 50c more? Nope. I tried to order another one, but the«manage» said don’t sell me another one?! Standing there with my son and didn’t want to sell us a sandwich? Walked out with me and my son still hungry. He’s a «manager»?!

Why bother writing a review for Subway? Because I wrote a letter to Subway’s customer service email about my experience here a full month ago and never got a response. If they can’t do the right thing and respond to an email about unacceptable service at one of their franchises, I’m happy to make my complaint public. The text of my email to Subway: «I had a very disappointing experience at the Subway in Novato’s Vintage Oaks center. I’m a frequent Subway patron and can’t recall having a negative experience in a store prior to this, so I thought it was worth mentioning. On July 14th, I ordered the children’s meal for my son. After paying for my order, I was directed to a refrigerator to collect his apples and milk. There were no apples in the fridge. I told the employee who’d helped me, and she said I could take a yogurt instead. I went back to the fridge, but there was no yogurt. I had to get back in line and wait several minutes to talk to an employee now, but was finally told that the store was out of both items, and I could have chips instead. I protested that the whole point of the child’s meal was that it was healthy and I wasn’t comfortable giving my 3-year old chips. The employee shrugged her shoulders and turned away. I should also mention that there was no toy in the children’s meal bag. I had been telling my child during the long wait in line that there would be a toy with his meal(because the sign advertising the children’s meal specifically indicates this), and then there was no toy. So, his meal was missing two of the four items it was supposed to contain, and yet I paid full price and was not given any explanation from the Subway employees on site. This kind of poor service is not at all reflective of the quality of the Subway brand. I think this store may be somewhat new, so perhaps additional training is needed at this site.» Given the level of responsiveness to complaints about service(ie: none), I highly doubt the less-than-stellar employees at this store have gotten the extra training they clearly need, so dine here at your own peril. Next time we’ll eat somewhere where we’ll actually be given what we’ve paid for.
