Rite Aid

The pharmacy here is terrible. I came here to fill my prescription, they claim they need to call to verify with my doctor, I’m like ok go ahead please hurry it’s approaching the end of the day and they will be leaving the office. After an hour she states she is waiting for a fax code from my doctor, so I call my doctor, the fax went to the other office the main office and everyone has left my doctors office for the day. The receptionist at my doctors office says she already talked with the pharmacist and verified the prescription. I ask her what is going on! The pharmacist says she needs the fax to fill it. I tell her to give me the prescription I will take it somewhere else, after sitting there an hour and half. Went to CVS which is where I fill often too but they are further from my house, they took care of it in 5 minutes. First they need to verify because it’s a new doctor on my record, ridiculous pull up my cures report and verify it that way, isn’t that what this is for. Well what was taking so long wasn’t because she needed to verify with my doctor it was because a month and a half before that I had my tonsils removed and needed liquid pain medicine for 4 days after the surgery. She was calling to tell my doctor something their office already knew. Feels great to be treated like a drug seeker when I am under the care of numerous specialty doctors for my autoimmune disease. Never going back to this rite aid pharmacy again!

Love the remodel. They made the store much brighter and friendlier with new paint and laminated floors. I usually go here, ironically, not for prescriptions but plant pots, sunscreen, seeds, and random cleaning products. I find they really keep the store tidy and well-​labeled. For the most part the cashiers are welcoming and helpful. Where they still continue to lack is handling large crowds needing to check out all at once. Usually this place is way understaffed and those working are over worked. This problem arises from a company choice and by no means does this review reflect any ill feelings to those who keep this store clean and well-​stocked while trying to attend customers checking out.

WAY cheaper than CVS. Not much else to say about this place… it’s a drugstore!

I don’t go to these kinds of stores very often, but when I do I always wear plaid (jk). I usually go to CVS as they carry a specific product (mouthwash) that I use. Don’t know what to write. Like in most stores in Marin County you don’t meet overly friendly personnel. They do carry a good selection of flowers/​plants at this location.

They have been working on improving this store over the past year. Removed the watch repair guy who may or may not have actually repaired watches (hint).
The store is really big and well lit, large selection of everything from what I can see. I don’t like shopping here for a few reasons though. I feel like I get better deals at CVS, I don’t like when people bring dogs into stores and they do a lot here (it’s gross) and I have this feeling when I walk in, like I’m going to get mugged or something. Just a creepy feeling.
We did buy our Christmas tree here and they have a good plant selection in spring/​summer.
Parking is shared with the Safeway and other stores so it’s tight but ample.
They sell fishing bait in the back near the public restrooms.

This rite aid has some extremely strange and angry employees. A new guy, «Chris» is one of the most rude and angry people I’ve ever met. Chris, I don’t think retail is for you. Also, they closed their watch repair shop and now the services and warrantees I had for my watches have to be dealt with at another much less convenient location. This store is BAD compared to the rest. Go to CVS in Novato. At least they act like they give a crap about their customers.

Not a big fan of this location or for that matter Rite Aid in general. All the stores I’ve been to seem old, dirty and really dated. Plus, products are thrown everywhere and the place is short of a mess. The employees at the location seemed bored, weren’t very friendly and I was just glad to get in and out of there.
I’m not a fan of any drug store these days but this place was depressing.

It is truly dirty, dark and depressing. I walked in here because I needed a knee brace and the nice clean Safeway next door didn’t have one. While here I figured I would pick up a few other items (cold remedy, orange juice, etc.) small items that easily fit into the plastic basket they give you by the door.
I took my items to the single open register and checked out. I was then informed, «we no longer offer plastic bags. If you want a paper bag it’ll be $.05».
The look on my face must have said it all cause she then said, «Don’t blame me, I just work here.»
Oooook. I almost called the manager then realized it would be a total waste of my time and didn’t want to hold up the other customers waiting in the line.
I grabbed my items and hobbled out to my car.
I won’t shop at this Rite-​Aid again.

I like this store the only thing that stops me from giving it a 5 star is when I was looking for stuff to get rid of outdoor bugs. It seems like a well rounded store and the staff is nice.

THE 3 D’s — DIRTY, DARK & DEPRESSING
This store is in desperate need of freshening up. Why they didn’t go for a make over when the rest of the shopping center did a few years ago, I don’t know, because to use my kid’s phrase, it’s «so ghetto.»
I NEVER used to shop here, always preferring to go to Long’s Drugs. But ever since Long’s got bought out by CVS, which for me was a huge down-​grade, I’ve started shopping here from time time, due to geographical convenience, but I’m never happy about it.
Incompetent service, poor lighting, lousy merchandise, dingy atmosphere… overall, just a crummy, hold-​your-​nose shopping experience.
