Always a good sale! Gas perks are a plus! I love that it’s right in the neighborhood and we don’t have to drive far. I go there almost everyday for groceries to cook for dinner. The workers are more than helpful! Thank you!

Not bad if you have a rewards card. The sales are decent and the staff has always been courteous and kind to us. Produce is better than walmart although not as good as some other places. We stop here at twice a week so I think the staff knows us by now ;)

Store has been doing better under the new management of Mark. The interior of the store has been renovated which was long overdue. They also have an array of new cashiers who bring more life into the store, the change is dramatic. Winn-Dixie can be an excellent place to shop if you know when certain things are on sale, and the fuel perks program is untouchable. Who else loves cheap gas? THISCHICKSUREDOES!

Been going here as long as I can remember, it’s easier to get what I need compared to the hassle of walmart. Only wish they were clearer on what they accept on WIC items as I’ve had several occasions where they took my items back because they changed the brand but did not move their WIC labels so it gets a tad frustrating. Recently they’ve remodeled and it looks great but everything has completely turned upside down and now must relearn the layout to find what your looking for.

This store really needs to re-think hiring the mentally ill and the mentally inept. Yesterday, we stopped by to pick up a few things(we should have went to Rouses but it was rush-hour and we just wanted to get in and out). We were greeted in the parking lot by the person who collects carts as he was screaming ‚” Fucking people!”, Assholes! Assholes! Assholes!” and other really weird things as he went about his collecting. Then he stopped right in front of the Girly and stared at her. I stepped in front of her and guided her by. The store itself seems to be decently laid out. Nothing was too hard to find and their prices, while not as low as Rouses, surely weren’t in a league with Mardi Gras Zone or convenience stores. Our cashier, however, La Joya or something like that, never greeted us, never made eye contact and never said a single word to us. She was too busy either being on the phone or yelling across the checkouts to her friend(who she then invited over and chatted with her while checking us out, never once acting like humans were standing in front of her). A business is only as good as the people working there. If you hire people who just don’t give a shit, then you risk injuring your business. And when you are across the street from a competitor, you might want to revisit your hiring practices.

What can you really say about a grocery store?!? This establishment is always competitively priced, but I rarely see them trying to beat the breaks off the competitors with their prices. Truthfully, some of the items here are really highly priced! Rule number one with this place is for you to get yourself a store card, or know someone that has a card. They can put in their phone number, and you will get the discount for being a card carrying member of the store. If you are not from the South, or just don’t have country folks in your family, items such as pickled pig lips, pickled pig tips and pig feet may be strange to you. For those same people, you may not even understand why items of that nature would even be necessary to sale in a store. Winn Dixie sales cool items such as that. One item in particular that they sale that makes me love this store is a drink from Coca Cola called Delaware Punch. That drink must be the runoff from crack. Such a smooth, non-carbonated drink, that is not too sweet and flavored to the max. If you find a can of this, do yourself a favor and try one! Truly, because of selling that one item, this place gets an extra star. If you aren’t a big fan of the huge chains, such as Wal-Mart and Kroger, then give this medium sized chain a whirl. Because it is in New Orleans, if you are a bread eater, make sure to get a loaf of French bread. Trust me on that one.

Don’t come here if you don’t have a Winn-Dixie card or the phone number of someone who does(if you don’t physically have a rewards card, they’ll type in a phone number associated with an account) because without it everything is a bit overpriced. The gas deal(so many cents off for however much you spend) is sort of a scam because you can only get it from SOME Shells, where the gas is 10 – 20 cents higher than every other gas station in the area. The nearest Shell I know of that participates is a ways down the expressway. Anyway, four stars for the good deals. Rouse’s is my go-to place for fresh food, but if I want to stock up on anything I go to Winn-Dixie. Their deals rotate, so you never know what’s going to be on sale. Last week I got boxes of pasta for a dollar a piece. In the past I’ve had jars of pasta sauces for $ 1, Pringles for a dollar a can, Sweet Leaf tea for $ 2 a gallon, 12-pack Coke products for $ 3, etc., etc., etc. They also keep a discount liquor shelf with some name brand booze for half price when they need to clear the shelves for new products. There’s a clearance section with razors and things that need sold. Great deals. Also, walking balloons… A little on the expensive side, but I’m totally a kid at heart. See my dino on a leash in the picture I uploaded!
