So I stopped in here to grab a quick bite to eat in the midst of a busy work day, and I am now thoroughly impressed. I grabbed a pack of summer rolls from the guys making sushi, and chatted with them for a second. Very professional, and very kind they were. As I checked out the cashier was the same. We chatted for a second as I was paying for my lunch. The summer rolls were probably the best I’ve ever had, and they were 7.49 for a pack of four! You cannot beat that. If I’m on the westbank I’ll be back here for a quick lunch!

Dang Algiers Rouses, you fancy! This Rouses feels a lot like the Rouses on Tchoupitoulas: a bit upscale and sophisticated with a lot to offer. Also, being in this Rouses makes me realize how much the one on Belle Chasse Highway needs an update. I don’t even know if the one on Belle Chasse Highway can even be called a real Rouses because it lacks a lot of cool things that other Rouses have. Anyway, Algiers Rouses has it all: a neat salad bar, an impressive seafood selection, sushi, a hot bar and a decent beer selection– all of my «go tos». Everything is organized nicely and the staff is really friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. I like that they had multiple registers open, even though the place wasn’t super busy, so I was in and out in no time. I might start going to this Rouses more often, mainly because it’s nicer and it seems to have more of the«good stuff».

Bulk food item rang up at $ 3 more per pound than price tag on the bin. So beware of pricing tricks here. See my picture. Toffee nut mix marked as $ 5.99 and rang up $ 8.99. Took it to service desk and they made no attempt to correct the tag, didnt even want to know which product it was.

A grocery store is a grocery store, however they were open on New Year’s Day, and it was raining, when Trevor asked to take my cart, so I wouldn’t have to bring it back in the cold and rain. If this weren’t enough, I tried to return a Redbox movie at 10 after 10 and he allowed me to run in at the last moment even when they were closing! This is customer service at its finest and Trevor deserves the acknowledgement of the fine employee that he is, so I write this review on his behalf. Rarely do you find such great customer service and helpful nature, I just wanted to say what I find employee and human being this man is. Rouses has my loyalty because of Trevor.

This place is always chaos. I hate when I must come here so the Gretna location will get my catering orders from here on.

Rouses is a great little market in the French Market neighborhood. It’s great that it is so conveniently located even for hotel guests. They have pretty much everything you could possibly need or want from a grocery store and more! Their alcohol section is great and they even carry a few local wines. Prices are decent. Nothing very cheap but things aren’t extremely expensive either. Somewhere in the middle. Always a busy place.

By far my favorite rouses on the westbank. This store carries a great selection of local and healthy options. The store has a dedicated«health food» section, but also a lot of organic and other healthy choices integrated into the general store. Though a small grocery physically, its packed with all the great specialty sections you come to expect from rouses, including the deli, butcher, and great beer selection

Rouse’s is a locally owned store chain that in turn sells many other local products. The store is always clean and cashiers will quickly open registers if people are waiting. When I shop at Rouse’s I know I’ll find a better selection of produce than at our national chains. The prices are competitive and workers also seem to be happier.

One of the better grocery stores on the West Bank. It’s staffed good and products are always available. I like that they carry organic fruits and have a separate organic section. Their steaks are great with huge problem 1lb# portions in the case for $ 19/lb. I was somewhat disappointed when I asked for a 3 – 4 rib prime rib and they guy handed me three boneless ribeye steaks. Despite that the meat department are always helpful. I’m not too fond of the bakery department. In fact we chose to get a birthday cake from WinDixie due to better selections. We I find great here is the beer section with an abundance of Abita single bottle selections. Don’t forget to box it up to make it easy to carry out. I come here almost every day so it’s a good sign.

Best neighborhood grocery store with competitive prices and fresh produce/meat. I also love the huge variety of wines/liquor. I love that there are items here that you wouldn’t find in a walmart for example. The sushi is pretty darn good when you’re having a sushi craving but don’t wanna drive out of your way to get some. The associates are always nice and looking to help and the cashiers always seem happy which is always a good thing.

I’ve lived in Algiers for about 12 years. I’ve seen a few businesses come and go, but Rouses Market is undoubtedly the best commercial addition to this community. It is as if I’ve shopped there all my life. Like the little neighborhood groceries in the fifties and sixties, the manager and many of the staff members seem to know my name. They are always friendly and helpful. But Rouses Market is far from the neighborhood grocery stores I visited with my parents as a skinny little boy. The corner stores were very limited in their offerings. I’ve found that Rouses’ beef, seafood, produce, wines and spirits are simply peerless. For example, Rouses carries Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon and Jordan Chardonnay — wines that are only available at a few of the city’s finest restaurants. Further, they often carry fresh scallops, flounder, lobster tails and prawns along with the traditional fare of delicious oysters, soft shell crabs, cat fish and shrimp. Since the market was renovated, it routinely carries Flintstone-sized, remarkably marbled rib eye steaks and an outstanding selection of filet mignons. There are simply not enough superlatives for this gem of a supermarket. If you enjoy a great meal as I do, and you live in Algiers, you’d be wise to buy the ingredients for your meal at Rouses, and, of course, don’t forget the wine. Bravo Rouses Market!

I was here earlier tonight just before 8:00pm. Went to the Deli to buy ½ pound of corned beef sliced. Service was poor! The lady who finally agreed to serve me had a bad cold and proceeded to cough, and sneeze into her hands! I kindly asked her to please re-wash her hands before slicing my meat. She said“I have on fresh gloves, I don’t care if you have on fresh condom! PLEASEWASHYOURHANDS! The sever NEVER did! I took the cut meat and recorded a video using my I-Phone. Went to customer service demanding to speak to a store manager. The store manager addressed my concerns. I informed him that I would file a complaint with the board of health, and post video on Youtube. In today social media world, A picture is worth a thousands words!

Friendly staff and managers, good«homemade» items, they have raw foods they season and prepare ready to cook that are great — also have great prepared foods that are quick to heat and serve and reasonably priced. The store brand stuff is good quality, I love it.

I get my pantry items from Winn-Dixie, but I come here for fresh meat, seafood, produce, and forgotten items(there’s rarely ever a line). There are one or two employees who keep carts out of the parking lot, which is always clean. There’s a security guard or police officer at the door to greet customers. The staff is friendly and if you have a question they will either drop what they are doing to help you find what you are looking for OR they will find someone who will. This is super helpful if you’re like me and trying new recipes, but have never had to buy yeast/baking powder/corn starch before and are thus clueless regarding what it looks like or where you might find it. They keep the most popular beers and wines refrigerated and have a pretty decent variety of hard liquors. My only complaint about the alcohol would be that the liquor is kept behind a counter at the entrance and the beer and wine are on the other side of the store. There’s a decent organic aisle in the frozen food area(including frozen Ezekiel bread!!), but the prices are a bit ridiculous.

It’s a small Rouses, but since we only have 2 on the westbank, I tend to go here every once in a while. They have a decent produce section, deli, seafood, meat, bakery, and a surprisingly large selection of alcohol. Everything that I need is usually in-stock. There isn’t a whole lot of traffic in this area, so the checkout lines are never long. It’s a very quick and easy«in and out» trip to the grocery store.

Store was clean and well stocked. Staff was very helpful. One cashier spent 10 minutes with me taking me around trying to find a weird item. Once we found it he made a flavor recommendation. Later the girl in the liquor department offered to check me out when I was walking toward the checkout so I didn’t have to wait in line.

I am a regular at Rouses so much that the security guards and the workers know my face! I am at the grocery store at least 2 – 3 times a week considering I like to buy my produce fresh and i don’t like to stock pile food in the refrigerator. Great selection of fresh produce and other items. Short lines(which I LOVE) and friendly and fast service. You can’t ask for more than that!

Meh. The produce isn’t great, but if I have to swing in to get the basics, they are always stocked up. I used to LOVE this store. They had a sweet organic/natural section right by the produce aisle– so I could skip most of the store and just hit up that section. However, I went in Monday and discovered that the section was gone. I asked an employee if it had moved, since I was pressed for time(HUNGRY!!) and didn’t want to search aisle by aisle. She said she didn’t know… So, I probably won’t be doing as much shopping here anymore. There’s no point. The Rouse’s on Carrollton is much better, even though it’s much more crowded.
