Remember it like it was yesterday. I had a shrimp po boy. It was very good. Lots of shrimp. Good flavor. Cooked well. Bread was fresh. Service was a little to be desired. Place was not that clean. Most customers, like ourselves came to order takeout.

I eat here all the time when I came to visit my family. I am not picky when it comes to poboy’s considering I do not have poboy’s where I live. Cajun or Asian it does’t matter to me but as long as they have a southern accent they will cook you some mean as Cajun food.

This place gets one star because they were open. The food here was good once upon a time. Now they serve you fast but the food isn’t reaaly good. I ordered chicken strips and they were freezer burned. I know because I cook as well. Now customer service they are family I understand but they rush my order only so that they could begin talking with each again… not going back.

I think this ourlast time checking in here. And we first are coming here it was great the best O’Boys in town. Now after 15 years it’s just more tradition then the food actually being good. Service is not good and I found some better poor boys

Surprised this place doesn’t have worst reviews. I believe the owners have changed, therefore the drastic decrease in stars. I decided to give this place a chance while on the way to a Vayla Social event nearby. In NOLA, some shabby looking places can offer the best shrimp poboys you’ve ever had! This was not one of them. The filthiness was disgusting. It looked as if it hadn’t been touched in decades. The cashier was rude. The shrimp was battered and deepfried, but it appears it was not seasoned at all. The poboys were the worst I’ve ever had, and the place isn’t even open 24⁄7. I was very disappointed.

Great Po boys. It is located very close to Project Homecoming. These gigantic sandwiches were welcome after a long day of work. My 10 dollar shrimp Po boy was well worth the money. The French bread was nicely soft and the mayo complemented the shrimp nicely. My only complaint is that the place wasn’t too clean, but I’m willing to look past that for a delicious sandwich. I would go again!

Super gross inside. Not a clean place. Roast beef was plentiful but it had a lot of gristle. Cheeseburger poboy sucked. None of the tables were wiped down. Looked like it had never been swept.

Massive sandwiches and a fine selection of menu items, especially if you’re in the mood for Cajun food a la carte. There’s so much meat or seafood stuffed into their po-boys that you’ll almost wonder if you should take out some and save it for a second po-boy later. It’s seedy, with dubious stains on the ceiling tiles and walls(don’t sit down anywhere while you wait for your order), but it’s a beacon in New Orleans East.

What can I say about this place. Well, I love the ooey gooey. They used to never close but some of you reviewers wouldnt know that as obvious by some of the reviews and the comments in regards to the business changing their name. Owners have changed and the hours have changed since Katrina. Heck, Im happy they even opened up after Katrina as there were barely any places to buy food after Katrina in New Orleans East. We were in the area around Mardi Gras and this place was jammed pack. We went through drive through but that didnt help either. Im glad there were no ignorant ass fools up in that place though. I had to go back inside and tell them that my plate didnt have enough wings on it. They gave me a plate with almost 50 wings on it to replace my 10pc. I was happy with my hot wings for sure that night! Cant beat the prices and for the amount of food you receive? Schmon now! It’s not the best, but I always end up coming back when Im in the area and in the mood for some unhealthy grub. Cash and credit is accepted, they have boiled crawfish, boudin, crabs, turkey necks — call in advance though Parking lot is small, building used to be a McDonalds for visual purposes. LOL

Not quite the same place post-Katrina. They actually close now. Food is just okay now.

I was skeptical when my Californian husband said that this place was great. I was even more skeptical when I noticed that the poboys weren’t made by Cajuns. Boy was I set straight. Those Asians can make a poboy! We had the Philly Cheese one. Best Philly I’ve ever had! It’ll be a tough decision next time that we make it to New Orleans East. How will we decide between Phở and We Never Close? I deducted a star because they don’t offer ice water, only bottled.

Still have good po boys but I remember them being better in my youth. I’m still shocked that they close now!

My husband was so excited to take me to We Never Close when we went to the N.O. We both had shrimp po’ boys, which were huge! & we got a huge greasy bag of fries. Don’t get me wrong, they tasted great!!! … until I found a curly black hair in mine(I was almost done eating, by the way). I quietly threw the rest away and kept it to myself — I didn’t want to ruin this place for my hubs — he loves it & he’s never found anything in his food other than yummy goodness! I’d eat here again but I’d check my food before taking a bite.

A classic. EVERYTIME i’m in the N.O. I make a trip out to this place. The PO-Boys are huge and greasy and full of shrimp! Everybody is here late at night. Its not a pretty place, and the dining area is a mess, but that’s just the way I like it at 3am. My wife will tell you in her review below, that she found a hair in her sandwich toward the end of eating it. So what? It adds to the charm… lol
