I went there couple of week the waitress was very nice, but didn’t eat half my food it was too greasy. Here is why they get a star and lower, I forgot my prescription sunglasses on the table, went back after 15 min and it was gone. The guy who cleaned our table said to me and the waitress who served us that he put them behind the bar and couple of people admitted they saw them. After 20 min I was asked to leave a phone number and it was apparent to them that someone from the staff took it. Went back couple of days the owner blamed me for losing them and said«it was left in front of the bar not behind the bar and a customer took them?!» And«if they are prescription I should not be upset because no one can use them»

I just got out of this place. I ordered a stuffed omelet and it was really good, its a big plate, comes with hash browns and your choice of bread. The place was really crowded, but i sat at the bar and i received my food in about 10minutes and i think is ok. Paid 11dollars for the food and a drink so the price is average

Haven’t been in awhile but recall this place being very slow. Well no more. fast seating/service, really good food. Perfect stop after a long night out. Mardi Gras time!

This seems to be a ritual. For the last couple of years, I have visited here to grab a bite between parades. When Charles H referred to the waitresses are sassy, he hit the nail on the head. They must actually like their jobs, even when weirdos are coming in from the parade route right in front of the restaurant. Salads that come with the meal are literally iceberg lettuce and a tomato slice. It’s 2016, at least get a spring mix. You can not use the restroom unless you buy something, which is good because it keeps all of the randos out. Well. Most of them. The crowd is always odd, which I am not sure that its because I have only been during Mardi Gras, or if that is just the clientele. The food is always hot and filling. It is a good place for groups. The restaurant is neat and clean, and the tables are promptly bussed. My meal last night came under $ 15, which is great. I will continue to come back if I am in the area.

My breakfast was delicious. Perfect over medium eggs, perfect bacon, solid bloody mary.

This is a nice spot for breakfast, as this was recommended by our cab driver. It’s located right by the Charles street car line, and is walking distance to the Garden District. The breakfast is really affordable and service is friendly and quick. You can seat yourself, but as soon as you do, there will be someone who will place napkins and silverware at your table and inform you of the waitress coming. The waitress then is there soon after, asking if you want a cup of jo. We loved how speedy they were, since we were going on a tour right after breakfast. The food is solid. I had bacon, eggs and grits and it resembled that of good ol’ homemade food.

I just don’t think the food is good. I’ve been 4 or 5 times, only because it was majority vote. I would never go there otherwise. Service is always pleasant, but also slow. Everything just tastes… meh. Bacon is usually burnt, eggs look angry(no matter how you order them), served room temperature and typically not at the same time as the rest of your table. I cry every time I taste the home fries. They do seem to do a great job on pancakes, as someone always orders it and they are always devoured. I understand that when eating out late night with 50 or 60 other drunk people that you are going to make some sacrifices, which is why I threw in the extra star on the rating.

Great place for early morning gatherings or afternoon breakfast cravings! The lunch food is delicious too and the price satisfies just as much as the food does. Seat yourself! It accommodates large and small parties. Satisfaction guaranteed with this New Orleans favorite!

My fiancée picked me up for lunch today and we were looking for something quick and easy, and ended up at the Trolley Stop. We both ordered a club sandwich(one on wheat, one on white), which came with fries. The sandwiches were very good. Bread was toasted, right amount of mayo, lettuce, tomato, ham, turkey, and cheese. Fries were decent, some were a little soft, but not big deal. Our only knock was that it seemed to take a little longer than should. Two club sandwiches seem pretty easy to make, and it wasn’t crowded. But it was a very good sandwich and the service was good also.

I was recommended to this historic restaurant and I was thrilled with the food quality. Best breakfast for the money in New Orleans!

***2 Star deduction*** It’s been a little while since I’ve been back to trolley stop so I decided to stop by and grab some breakfast. This time, it being a Friday, the place was buzzing with activity. I like that in a restaurant and this place has a great energy to it for the type of restaurant it is(more or less diner style food). I ordered the country breakfast which is chicken fried steak with«country» gravy and two eggs cooked any way with your choice of grits or hashbrowns(I chose grits). I also got a side order of a biscuit and gravy. They asked if I wanted cheese on my grits, I said sure. When I received my food, it did not look very appetizing, it liked like a $ 1 Banquet meal you pull out of the freezer! This was new for me because I’ve gotten plates that looked really great before… When I got the grits the cheese was just thrown on there, not melted or anything which was disappointing, see pics. The eggs, which I got scrambled were not bad but not great either. The chicken fried steak, which I’ve had here before was very disappointing, it was much drier and smaller than ones I’ve had before. Also, they gravy they used was thin and not as creamy as what they have served me in the past. Not sure why they bother calling it «country» gravy, it just tasted like nothing and hardly looks like real gravy to me. The worst part of the meal was the biscuit and gravy. The gravy, like I said, was thin, watery, and lacked that creamy awesomeness that makes gravy addictive. It was very disappointing. The biscuit was very chalky, dry, dense and just really bland. I don’t say this often but it was it was disgusting and an insult to biscuits and gravy as a southern staple. I am giving 2 stars because my server was nice and I only spent a little over $ 10. I did leave full but also left feeling like the meal was an overall disappointment. The biscuit was pretty much inedible and I am not a fan paying for things like that. This visit showed several inconsistencies. Maybe they were just off their game but I will probably not be back for awhile because they definitely let me down this time.

I ate here 3 mornings in a row. You read that correctly. 3 mornings in a row. I would have probably eaten here all 5 days of our stay, had I found out about this place earlier. I ate the same thing all 3 mornings: A piece of chicken fried steak and corned beef hash. The best ever! The chicken fried steak was perfectly fried and not tough at all. I sliced it with a fork! The corned beef hash had a great crisp to it and not too salty. I looked forward to having breakfast each morning at this place. BT loved his food, too! His biscuits and gravy were delicious and he agreed with me about the perfection that is their corned beef hash. The waitresses we had were super nice. The one waitress with the long hair in a braid was amazing and is really great at her job: friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable! The place is clean and the prices are very affordable. Trolley Stop is located in the garden district with a trolley stop(!) right across the street. I do have to mention that there is a waitress with the ultimate RBF and a bad attitude to match(she yelled at an elderly gentleman for trying to close the blinds to get the sun out of his eyes) You’ll know who I’m talking about when you see her. Try to avoid sitting in her section because she seemed very annoyed with the world. I can’t wait to go back to NOLA and stop here again!

Went here after Halloween. Received good service and food. Jambalaya was tasty! Our waiter was nice too. Only small complaint was the drinks were not strong.

Great little diner well located in the garden district. Very unassuming with great prices. They lack the attitude you might get at other brunch places, as they aren’t trying to be anything they aren’t. This place is very accommodating for groups, and has a full bar with very low prices. It is open 24 hours on the weekend, and has great typical breakfast foods(pancakes, french toast, grits, etc.). A great place to take a breather from if you are trying to escape the french quarter while riding the street car to uptown.

My boyfriend and I moved here last year and with our busy schedule, we finally got a chance to eat here. I got the country fried steak breakfast and my boyfriend got the Mexican breakfast burrito. It was so surprising that we only had a few bites out of it and we were both full and still a lot of food left. Everything was delicious! The only thing about this place is that it’s not clean. We saw roaches on the floor and our chairs were sticky.

Ok. That’s the best word to describe this place. Just ok. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t fantastic which is what I expect from a food mecca like New Orleans. It’s a good place to go to if it’s 1 am and you are drunk but other than that, I wasn’t terribly impressed. Anything that you can find here, can be found elsewhere — and it’s probably better elsewhere

First let me say… this place is CHEAP. If you’re looking for a hardy breakfast Uptown and not wanting to break the bank… this place is for you. That’s probably why it’s always packed. Always. And the service is the worlds slowest… Only three stars because of the combination of slow service and mediocre coffee. The food is decent and basic. Think: 2 eggs over easy, bacon, toast and grits. They do have some pancakes and some waffle-type sugary things. Also some omelettes if that’s your thing! Tip: If you sit at the bar, the service will be better and the speed at which you get drink refills and your order will certainly increase, but you have to deal with the ever opening/closing of the front door, the line of people waiting for tables(hovering over you while you wait) and the host yelling for ready tables. So, choose your poison or head to another restaurant!

Banana split pancakes. Do I need to write anything other than that? Trolley Stop seems to be a locals’ spot. They serve a huge amount of good food at decent prices. We went here for breakfast and I ordered the aforementioned banana split pancakes. The pancakes were fluffy and made all the more scrumptious by a healthy serving of caramelized bananas and strawberry on top. They say laissez les bon temps rouler in NOLA, and the decadence of this breakfast would make you say it and not think of your diet. The service was friendly, though it was a bit on the side of slow. But really, it is nice to be able to linger once in a while, and even the less than speedy service was appreciated. I will be back for those banana split pancakes. They are really very scrumptious!

Open 24 hours— tons of menu options — the locals love it – we were told to come here by the seamstress I was having my pants hemmed last minute. She said she eats here 3 – 4 times a week for breakfast and has for years! Lots of healthy menu options as well as super gluttoness lol— it is a southern NOLA experience for sure! Check it out! You’ll be family :)

Love Love Love this place! It was a bit crowded when we arrived but it was to be expected because of mardi gras. Seems like throughout this whole trip I had to make a bee line to the bathroom first. But this one was Clean!!! Tadah!!! Was seated after about 15 minutes… Not bad! Ordered our food which came out in another 15 minutes… Excellent!!! This is getting good! I wish I could remember our waitresses name she was the sweetest! I ordered pancakes and bacon it was really good! I ate all of it! My sister ordered red beans and rice with pork sausage… I ate that too! I don’t even remember what my niece ordered because I was too busy eating from two plates it was that good! Ay Yo Trolley Stop!!! See you when I get back to Nawlin’s!
