Chicken St Charles is one of the best breakfast dishes I’ve ever had. Friendly service, good coffee as well.

Came here on a Sunday morning at 12:30pm which explains the crowd, waited about 20 min to be seated, the service was slow but I attribute that to the time we arrived, the food itself was excellent, the décor is nice and kind of reminds me of a fancier diner, I had the fried chicken egg Benedict which was great, a lot of options here, if I lived near one of these I’m sure that u would return for brunch for sure

OK — I really wanted to like this place. Lots of hype, friends said it was a must go, etc. their Bloody Mary is really good, spicy. We ordered the salmon Benedict and the tomato/bacon Benedict thingy. Both came with very little, if any holly daisy sauce. We asked for extra hollandaise and that came fairly quickly, however, it was like melted velveeta. I love hollandaise, I’ve made hollandaise and where I’m from it is not the consistency of melted velveeta and it has more flavor. You’d think that the land of the butter and fat and grease would have some of the best hollandaise sauce around. Not here. I also prefer a crispy English muffin to the fat bready biscuits. So maybe it’s just personal preference. Service was fine, they are very busy so it takes awhile to place your order. Waitress wasn’t personable but they’re busy so what do you expect. The wait wasn’t as long as they said it would be — we were there at about 11:30 on a Sunday and they told us 30 mins. We were seated in 20 mins. Two bars to order cocktails while you wait. French toast is sweet but good, but basic French toast. Bacon is very smokey and crisp.

Delicious breakfast. I had an 3 pigs omelette with toast and potatoes. I was full through lunch! Long wait but they can send you a text when your table is ready which is great :)

Not the best I have had in a long time. My dish was not that good and wouldn’t go back. Main issue was while waiting the hour wait the outside waitress told me they are served double only. That was a lie and there was no way a double shot in there! Jimmy J’s is WAYBETTER!!!

I had brunch herd during my trip to New Orleans. When I say this is one of the BEST brunch spots I’ve been to in my entire life I am not exaggerating! Soo good! I ordered the ST. Peters catfish dish. It was so favorable and delicious. It came with Shrimp, catfish, a poached egg, sautéed veggies on top of a cheesy grit cake. We didn’t have a long wait but we must have come at the perfect time because it was a wait after we sat down as well as days after we attempted to go back. If you are ever in New Orleans I highly recommend it. Its worth the wait!

Bananas foster was sooo yummy but sugar overload! But delicious. Now I can say I’ve had it! My Bf had couchon breakfast. He said it was good but not enuf for him. He ordered a side of potatoes and they were so small(he was still hungry). Our other couple had bananas foster and she had a salad with goat cheese. He literally licked the plate. His wife said«we don’t eat sweets”— hence is why he probably enjoyed his meal waaaay more than her! place was great, wait staff awesome, food great but spendy. Bill was $ 60 for 4 of us yikes. But good. Have to try it at least once!

Just average. 30 minute wait. We sat at the bar. Both ordered eggs benedict style dishes. I got the pork. Sort of dry and bland in flavor. He got the salmon. Again, sort of meh.

We arrived on a Friday morning around 11AM and were told that our wait would be 20 minutes… The texting– wait system/check how many people are in front of you with the app seemed so convenient. We ended up being seated in about 15 minutes or a little under! Wait staff were all very courtesy and all had smiles on their faces. The food did take a little longer than expected to come out… and for no particular reason(maybe it’s their typical wait time on the food… IDK). However, I ordered the Shrimp and Grits with a side of Scrambled Eggs… DELICIOUS!!! Shrimp and grits were flavored to perfection and to die for! I ordered coffee before I left and was surprised that it was stronger than I expected! Loved it! Most restaurants make a big pot and it’s typically more water than coffee, but they had their coffee perfect. I even asked for some to go! I’d definitely return!

Fantastic breakfast spot and Arielle was an amazing server. Never thought we would enjoy fish and fried chicken for breakfast but her recommendations exceeded our expectations. Also– short walking distance to all of the Marriotts.

You definitely want to get here early… It gets super busy! The food is worth the wait. I had the special of the day, which was Shrimp Cortez– a delicious shrimp and grits dish with sausage, artichoke hearts, goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, and tons of other tasty things. I could have eaten five of them! Highly recommend. The service was also fantastic, and you really couldn’t beat the price. Overall fantastic experience.

So good we ate at the Canal Street location TWICE. The first day we ordered build your own omelets — which were so tasty! The pancake of the day was oreo. Oh dear LAWD, completely worth every calorie! The second time we got one of the breakfast combos, which was also perfectly prepared. Go hungry, the portions are more than ample. The waiter from our first trip saw us and came over to say hey, which we thought was pretty impressive that he remembered us! We went for breakfast around 8am both days and didn’t have to wait at all!

OMG! Their St. Peter’s Gulf Fish for breakfast is sooo good! FYI though, it can put you in a legit food coma, but hands down one of the best breakfast meals I tried in NOLA. Plan to arrive at this place early. They tend to get really busy especially on the weekends, where by 11am there is usually a line outside. If you order their grits it’s literally like butter. So soft, creamy, and smooth — not gritty. Their eggs Benedict are also good too, but like I said, legit food coma. The portion sizes are good enough for you to feel full! Their foods are rich and full of flavor. Service was really great as well. Knowledgeable and are well at providing suggestions. Definitely a must try if.

The Ruby Slipper was the only restaurant on my list of places to eat(don’t act like you don’t have a list for every city you visit) that was both nearby and open early enough to sit down and have a meal before my morning flight. I had the breakfast sandwich with two fried eggs. The biscuit was relatively light and not doughy which contributed to the sandwich not being dense or dry. The candied bacon was pretty sweet, but not overly sweet in contrast to the saltiness of the cheese which was perfectly gooey. My friend’s Southern Breakfast had everything the breakfast sandwich had minus the cheese, and plus buttery grits and a lightly battered fried green tomato. Both meals were generously portioned for the price, and delicious. It’s staying on my list for breakfast and so I can try the Whodat-licious cocktail!

Six Words: Eggs Cochon, milk punch, long waits I came here on my birthday when I was here in November for vacation. We weren’t originally planning to go here — we were supposed to go to someplace in the Garden District but we got off to a late start and decided to stay close to our hotel off of Bourbon Street. This came recommended by our hotel — the front desk, the bar tender, basically everyone. When we arrived, it was a Monday morning and it was not too crowded. We had to wait. We were originally going to take a seat outside but there were people waiting for tables inside sitting at all the tables outside and it wasn’t a cute patio. It was just a few tables by a door that were wet from the rain. So we waited for an inside table. We were seated and we went for drinks. One of my friends went for Irish Crean Coffee while my other friend and I went for Brandy Milk Punch. I had never had it before I definitely enjoyed it. We ordered our food and were excited but it took forever to arrive. We waited almost 40 minutes for our food. The waitress kept coming by saying it was coming and everyone else in our area — who ordered after us — got their food. But not us. We were about to ask for the check and leave when it finally arrived. I ordered the Eggs Cochon and my god, it was delicious. Not quite worth the wait. But amazing. Slow-cooked, apple-braised pork served over an openfaced buttermilk biscuit, topped with two poached eggs, finished with hollandaise. It was decadent and delicious. I basically inhaled my food. I would’ve given this 5 stars had the service not been disappointing.

I was skeptical at first when I saw that there were several other locations around the city, as often times that means a place that was once great has overextended and lost quality. However, this was very clearly not the case with Ruby Slipper Café! After waiting about 20 minutes outside for a table for 2(they take your cellphone number and call you when your table is ready which is very convenient) we were seated at a communal hightop table near the bar. The service took a little while to get going, but eventually we put in our drink orders — one Mimosa and one 19th Hole(a spiked Arnold Palmer). The drinks were great, so great that we may have enjoyed another round or two before our meal came to and end :) We had a hard time deciding what to order because a lot of the options looked great! We eventually used Unilocal as our guide and went with the Banana Fosters French Toast and the Eggs Cochon. The French Toast was just as delicious as described by follow Unilocalers. You could taste the eggs and sugar all melted together and it was heavenly! All in all it was a tasty experience and I would recommend it :)

A friend recommended that my sister and I eat here before heading home to DC after the Essence Festival. I was a bit leery about going because many of the reviews mentioned a long wait(30 minutes or more) at any given time at any given location. Lucky for us, I told the front desk folks where we were going and they told us that we were in walking distance — not the cab ride that I was thinking that we’d need to take. We walked a half block then a block away from the Wyndham Garden. I then realized that we had passed the restaurant SEVERAL times during our stay but we thought it was a strip club/gentlemen’s bar. The outside of the Café is very unassuming. We were surprised that there wasn’t a long line outside. We were told by our friend and by the hotel concierge that we might have a wait. we didn’t have a wait at 8:45am on a Monday morning. I was happy! We were seated right away. The food was average. the staff was very attentive. restrooms clean. Price was awesome. I would definitely go back again the next time I’m in town AND would recommend for friends. They have DOUBLE mimosas. My sister had 2!
