My husband and I got married here over the summer. There were a ton of issues, but the worst was when the building owner came home drunk at exactly 11:30pm(he lives above the venue) and started screaming at our guests. He demanded that the music be turned off immediately and he kicked everyone out. It was my wedding night and he screamed at me and embarrassed me in front of everyone and made me cry. Yes, we rented the space until 11:30, but there was no last call. No lights flickering or friendly reminder that the night was coming to an end. Actually, there were no Paris Room managers in sight, so the building owner asserted himself on our party. Even if the reception had to end abruptly, it wasn’t right to be treated that way, especially after spending thousands of dollars. Here are other reasons why I could never recommend the Paris Room: When we signed the contract, they said the 4th floor apartment was free to use the entire day of the event. Later they said it was $ 400, but we decided to use it anyway. On that day, we arrived to find out that the building owner rented the apartment like airbnb and double-booked it. An old man was staying there and the place was disgusting. He barged in an out at his will, at one point brandishing his cane at my mom’s friend. He then proceeded to lock us in the apartment and leave with the key. Yes, the staircase has a metal gate that locks. For over an hour, half the wedding party was locked upstairs, including the hair stylist who was having contractions and starting to go into labor.(You can’t make this stuff up.) Since the old man wanted to get back into the apartment(and the Paris Room thought that was acceptable event though we had reserved it several months prior) we had to move all of our belongings out of the apartment before the reception. Instead of putting purses and other things in a locked room, the event manager told us to leave everything on the staircase. During the reception, we saw her leading a crowd of people on a ghost tour up the stairs into the owner’s apartment. Since purses and valuables were out in the open unattended, bridesmaids felt like they had to guard everything during the tour instead of dancing and having fun. We were told the venue would take care of ordering a tent for us in case there was rain in the forecast. It was agreed that we would decide by a specific date/time, and then split the cost of the tent rental. When rain was in the forecast, we let the event manager know but she never ordered the tent. She told our wedding planner something like, «Of course there were no tents left to rent. It’s Memorial Day weekend.» We came back to the venue to collect our supplies the next day and a bunch of stuff was missing. Our wedding planner had boxed up all of our desserts(ordered from Whole Foods to save money), but the venue either threw them away or someone took everything. Even the cake topper I made by hand was gone. There were other issues but this review is long enough already. We did get a small discount for the trouble, but it wasn’t worth it. I emailed The Paris Room owner after the event to see if he was aware that all of this happened, and he wasn’t. He said he was taking action to make sure this didn’t happen again and would follow up with us, but we didn’t hear back. Anyway, what was done was done. And even if he’s good at his job, he still has to deal with the crazy building owner who lives above the venue. All of that said, the space was beautiful and the food was really good. But I can’t recommend having your wedding there.

My parents discovered the Paris Room and fell in love immediately. Jessyka provided excellent customer service and a perfect contract. They signed on the spot and paid the balance in full for a ceremony reception for my wedding. A couple of months later, we received a very disgruntled email from Jessyka about how she had to leave the company due to many reasons and just wanted to let her clients know that she was available to talk through anything necessary to make the transition better for our events. After that, there was quite a bit of trouble with the new rep on behalf of the owner. My emails and calls weren’t answered or returned and when I went to the restaurant a month before my wedding to try to work out details, I was told I needed to make an appointment. After about 20 minutes, they agreed to just go ahead and meet with me then. Three weeks before the wedding, I received a phone call stating that even though we had a signed contract that promised 135 chairs, they would only be able to accommodate us if we paid a fee of $ 400 – 500. My fiancé pushed back on the terms of the signed legal contract. She then said we would have the chairs and they would make it work. The day before my wedding the rep called and said that they were ordering less chairs because the space wasn’t big enough to accommodate my guests and that 30 of them will have to stand in the back of the room. The night of the rehearsal dinner, I was reminded that my dog wasn’t written into the contract after being told that she was allowed to walk in the wedding. It was a stressful and unfortunate lead up to the wedding, but the ceremony itself was beautiful and perfect. The space was great, we ended up getting all of our chairs at no additional charge and they even set up a really nice area in the courtyard for formal photos before the ceremony. Would I recommend? Probably not. But our wedding couldn’t have been more perfect in the end.

Got there at noon and been told they closed until 1:30 with people inside… Really? What kind of business is doing that on Saturday?

Swing night on Thursday night at the Paris Room above Café Soule was hoppin! Highly recommend checking this out. A dance lesson at the beginning of the evening, with the best dancing starting around 10pm. Great dance floor, great dancers and amazing venue.

I went to The Paris Room for a quick lunch with a colleague today, and it was a bad decision. The service took forever and the crepes we got(pepperoni, mozerella, and cheddar) were awful. The cheese was not melted and the pepperoni was over cooked. How they managed that is beyond me. The cook was really sweet and apologized for it, but I certainly won’t try it again. Then, even though we «made our own» and the cost should have been the base $ 2.75+ $ 1.75 for pepperoni and $ 1.00 for the cheese, somehow the cost per crêpe was over $ 7. Not impressed.
