Amazing art! We got one as a wedding gift! Lucky us! We love it! Great quality, very colorful and very New Orleans!

It seems that everywhere I go, I see some work by Simon. These are nifty art pieces and signs with cute little sayings on them with a New Orleans twist. I actually stumbled into this place on accident one day after stopping into District Donuts. I had no idea that Simon even had a studio! Something else I didn’t know– you can actually commission a custom piece! If you are looking for a unique«New Orleans» style gift or even if you just want something artsy to hang over your front door, this is the place for you. Simon definitely adds a little something to the culture and magic of New Orleans.

His space is amazing and his signs are even better. After living there for 5 years, it’s a great peace of New Orleans I have in my home. He did a custom sign for me and it came out unbelievable. Would recommend Simon to anyone.

This is a strange and wonderful place. Simon’s art is colorful and joyful and definitely has a certain look — bright, cheerful, sometimes wry, sometimes even a big nonsensical as he paints whatever strikes his fancy through his French/New Orleans/artist/chef/Bön vivant eye. Whether it’s your cup of tea or not, a visit to the shop is always an uplifting experience. His signs are made with joy. I’ve seen this dr bob work and thought it was just a collection of random people scrawling hackneyed phrases and nailing bottle caps around them. Dr bob signs seem dirty and have a vague sort if «meanness» to them. You’ll find no such meanness with a Simon sign.

Disclaimer… I hate this art. It’s gaudy and obnoxious. But people here seem to love it. It’s usually colorful blithe sayings like«Unrully children will be cooked and eaten.» In addition to the plethora of crappy folk art, and mass produced wall garbage there is an antique shop attached. It has lots of dried flowers scattered about on stacks of brown smelly furniture. Bonus star for the dried flowers and cool crown adornment near the front door.

This is a great place to pickup a special gift, a piece of art to color up your house, or a memento to remember New Orleans by. Simon’s folk art paintings of NOLA phrases are colorful and fun– just like the artist himself. He will paint custom signs for your home or business with cheeky sayings like«Geaux Saints» «They All Axed for You» «Be Nice or Leave» «laissez les bon temps rouler» etc. He will also do custom work. A great idea as baby or wedding gifts. Plus the guy is charming and funny and pleasure to work with. His prices are super reasonable. One of those great New Orleans characters and a great place for a special piece of art. P. S. The antique shop next door is gorgeous and well worth a visit.

After living here for 3 years, I finally found out where to purchase these wonderful signs I’d seen littered around the city. All his stuff here is great, & I think you can request custom signs. I just got a «do you know what it means to miss New Orleans» sign for my boyfriend, who will be leaving this wonderful city soon. :(Hopefully I’ll be back for one for myself soon. They all look great, & he’s very interesting to talk to. His wife & her antique shop also seemed great, but I didn’t take much time checking the antiques out.

I own a Simon as does every member of my family. The pieces are excellent: fun and creative. He did a piece for the weddings for my sisters showing them with additions for children. Highly recommended.
