After reading the reviews I thought this place would be phenomenal, however I left disappointed. The donut seemed dry and the donut didn’t have the superb taste that I was expecting. However, I’ve been to Gordoughs in Austin Texas and I was expecting something similar to that. I will say though I love the atmosphere of this place. Seems like a fun place to hang out and have good conversation. The prices are really cheap too for a coffee shop and quick bite to eat. I would go back to try their sliders but not for the donuts.

The donuts here are intense but really good. Not thinking while i was here i ordered a berries and cream donut, fried chicken sliders, beef sliders, and the monte cristo. All i would have again, extremely tasty. The fried chicken was perfectly fried and i loved the slaw that came on top of it.

Wooooow this place lives up to the hype. Great value for money(was 100% expecting each doughnut to be like $ 4, but was pleasantly surprised it was significantly less). The texture of the donuts is fantastic – it’s not greasy or heavy at all – and the flavors. OHMYGOODNESSTHEVARIETIESAVAILABLETOYOU. Ever wanted a café sua da flavored donut? A butterscotch one? This place can make your dreams come true. Would recommend going in-between lunch and dinner as we did, around 4pm, when the crowds were manageable. We were even able to snag a table inside, which is about as rare as the eclipse, it seems. Even had half a donut for breakfast the next day and it still held up. Will be back.

We had one of our best meals in NOLA here and totally unexpected. This is a really awesome spot a bit away from the touristy area of the city. It’s like a cool, industrial looking coffee shop that serves donuts, pastries, coffee and sandwiches(sliders and donut sliders). You absolutely gotta try this place and order the donut sliders. We specifically loved the montecristo(a donut with ham and cheese and preserves and powdered sugar) and the dulce Cubano(same idea but with pork belly in addition to the ham). Their nitro coffee is amazing, also great gourmet sodas. We tried waffle fries which were incredible and the catfish slider was mouth watering. The staff here is super friendly. The place gets packed, for good reason, so be ready to wait in line. You won’t regret it.

«Donuts. Is there anything they can’t do?» I have been meaning to visit District for a while, but the lines are always so long. Finally, my wife and I got there early. District offers some amazing donut options. My wife got a hibiscus donut while I tried the maple bacon. The donuts are massive, so you are not going hungry here. We also tried the Vietnamese iced coffee which is a french roast coffee with sweetened condensed milk. It is heavenly. If I still lived in New Orleans, this would be a weekly visit. I cannot wait to go back and try the sliders and biscuits. There are two downsides to District. It is not cheap and it is popular. District is not expensive, but these are still just donuts(even though they are great donuts). Expect to wait in a line. It’s all worth it.

I wish I had District Donuts in my neighborhood! Or maybe not on second thought. I’d always be tempted by their donuts on a daily basis. Regardless, this concept is so fun! Where else can you get sliders, beer, and donuts in one place? I visited in the mid-afternoon right when a sugar crave hit. My friend who lives in the neighborhood knew just where to take me. It was fun to learn that they have a donut menu that they keep fresh with fun ingredients and seasonal flavors. You can follow their instagram @districtdonuts for updates on their new donut menus. I decided on the banana nutella that day and really loved it. They are so generous with the ingredients, I had the most rich donut perhaps ever. The design of this place is also really nice. It has an industrial feel with red brick and wooden tables and benches. I would love to return on my next visit for some sliders and brew. Highly recommend.

A little disappointed, maybe I had higher expectations because of all the rave. Place was clean and nice, with plenty space for seating. We got the: –Neapolitan ice cream sandwich. –Creole Chi chi with Cream cheese ice cream /Frosted Flakes cereal and cinnamon sugar. — Chunky Monkey Donut –Chocolate Donut –2 Vietnamese Coffee Everything else came out fast, a few minutes after we paid but mine didn’t. We came on a Monday and there was barely anyone. I asked the guys about my Creole Chi chi but they just stare at me weirdly. I repeated 3 times and it seems like they’ve forgotten to make it. So I waited, it didn’t come out until the others already finished theirs. After 3 hrs drive and the wait, I was NOT impressed, their donut tasted like plain bread and it wasn’t soft or airy. More like a dense cake. For the price, it wasn’t worth it. The donut sandwich didn’t look pretty according to my expectations. The coffee was too bitter. I’m Vietnamese and I didn’t like the coffee lol. I don’t think we’ll be coming back.

Pretty cool place they have unique donuts. The sliders are priced high though and you only get one. They were like $ 5 for one slider… I did not get those but I got a donut. It actually tasted like a beignet and was pistachio flavored. I wanted the king cake donut but they ran out. There was nothing overly special about this place but it is a nice place to come if you have a taste for donuts with different flavors.

Stalked this place for weeks before my trip-really cool place, –cold brew on wooden tap, visual kitchen space, friendly staff, delicious donut croquette sliders(got the Cuban but would ultimately suggest the monte Cristo or Elena ruz(?) as a top contender) the waffle fries and cheese looked really good but didn’t try that. As for a donut-the cranberry pomegranate donut recommended by the cashier was flavorless –should’ve stuck with glazed or maybe the lemon strawberry? Heard from surrounding people the mango pork was different but good. Try a donut totally glazed or covered/filled this one with only drizzle was decent. I’d still recommend people get to this place ! The area in the garden district is neat too and only a short drive to NOLA taproom!

Exposed brick Beer on tap Doughnuts Cold Brew Coffee T-shirts stuffed inside mason jars, Jelly, Pickles & Jalapeños for retail Oysters Shrimp Rangoon BLT Booth & bar seating Awesomely hip & helpful employees …are just a handful of the extraordinary things District has to offer. I couldn’t help but try the Special Donut-la-mode which was a concoction consisting of a raised(unglazed) District donut sliced in half layered with lavender honey ice cream, graham cookie crumbled inside, the donut top replaced and drizzled with a mint sugar to form a donut ice sandwich supreme thingie! Taste so good I felt bad about it. I washed it down with their cold brew coffee and was ready for a nap. If you’re in the Garden District or not; it’s imperative that you make it by this spot before leaving NOLA. You’ll thank me later. ~Christy

When walking down the French Quarter, this was about 1.9 miles, and we actually considered walking. Now before you consider wal — wait, don’t. Your best bet to get to this heavenly, and yes, I mean HEAVENLY place(these donuts have officially provided me with an out of body experience) would be to drive your car and park on the sidewalk. Now with that being said, there’s plenty of seats inside and outside of the place! Upon approaching the register, the woman working the counter gave us recommendations as I was looking into the gates of heaven. About eight donuts that are laid out inside of a small counter, with the workers constantly firing out more. Exciting to say the least, I could feel the donuts calling me, «Jimmy, we’re HERE! What you’ve been waiting so long for!» They were right, this place was always on the corner of my mind while walking through New Orleans. My first time coming here, I absolutely had to get four of them. Now enough of me talking, let’s get into the donuts themselves: Banana Cream Donut(5⁄5): I thought that the donut itself would be dry with regards to the numerous other donuts I’ve eaten. Boy was I wrong! After the first bite, I could taste the glaze along with a hint of banana cream. Who knew there was a filling? I was expecting just a plain white cream filling, however, that wasn’t the case! The guys hear at District Donuts put time into their donuts, and you can taste it! The added touch of the two banana pieces on top which actually were caramelized, made this treat twenty times better. Definitely the best one of the four so far! Boston Cream Pie(4.5÷5): Identical was how I would describe this one. Perfect yet identical. This donut wasn’t a disappointment in any aspect. If you’ve ever had a real Boston cream pie, this would be an exact replica. The cream inside is delicious but fluffy. Delicate, and not overpoweringly sweet. The chocolate glaze on top was moist and appealing on the pallet, almost like New Year’s Eve fireworks(except you know, in your mouth). Now, the other two donuts I chose were toasted coconut and lemon raspberry. Both of those for my parents, because sharing is caring! Overall, just being able to see the staff at District Donuts working hard with regards to making their fresh donuts combined with the delicious quality of the donuts were enough for me to say that I will be back, but hungrier, for more donuts! Make this a mandatory place to visit on your way to New Orleans!

Why did we only stumble upon you on our last day in NOLA? WHY??! This was our second to the last stop before heading to the airport. DH knows my love for sweets/desserts so we had to come here when we were wandering around Magazine on our last few hours. We decided on 2 donuts — Fluffer Nutter and Cinnamon Roll and Vietnamese coffee. Donuts are to die for! I wish our big group went here so I can try the other flavors. The dough was nice and fluffy and flavors were on point. Vietnamese coffee was really good and strong. This place made a big impact to us and our trip that we decided to commemorate by getting their shirts! This is a must visit for sure if you’re exploring around Magazine St. I wish we could have brought a box of donuts to go — maybe on our next visit ;)

There is little that I can add to the other reviews here. A New Orleans resident told us this place was a «MUST» so we stopped in for breakfast after doing some shopping along Magazine Street. Both gentlemen who helped us were very patient as we tried to decide what delicious treats we would get. We settled on a Lemon and Ginger donut and a Neopolitan. Both were just awesome. The Lemon and ginger had such a perfect sweet/tart balance. I didn’t get a whole lot of ginger taste but I was willing to overlook that. The Neopolitan was unlike anything I had had before. Super messy due to the melted ice cream.. .. and the generous sugar topping. Again, I didn’t get much of the strawberry or nilla wafer flavor but I’m not going to complain about that. We really just wanted to go back and get 17 more donuts but we demonstrated some self-control(unfortunately). This place awesome is I will definitely return.

BLUF: Great atmosphere, staff and original options for a meal or snack. I got 3 sliders; cheese burger, fried chicken, and pork belly. All were great. I probably could have eaten a 4th. Really good and not as simple as they sound. I also go a black coffee which was good. Wife got the duck slider which was the special and it was great too. She also got a sandwich/donut thing that was suprisingly good. I thought it was going to be too sweet but it wasnt. It was great(ham and havarti). We got the fries with their homemade cheese sauce. I am a fan of sides; however, the fries were nothing special and the cheese sauce was not very cheesy or good. I would pass on both next time and just get an additional slider or dessert. We got the special dessert which was a donut with chocolate peppermint ice cream inside. Hot outside, cold side, physics destroyed. It was great. Place is overall great. Great helpful staff, cool hipster atmosphere. Great original food when you feel like something different. I’ll be back.

We are currently staying at an Airbnb near this place and we’ve eaten their donuts everyday. At this point I’ve had 8 donuts, 2 montechristos, 2 cinnamon rolls, a thousand shots of espresso, and bought a shirt. I’m a fan. It’s hilarious to read reviews where people analyze every last detail of a this place. It’s really cool & the confections are delicious — simple as that.

So so so so SO good! SOGOOD, Y’ALL! This is nestled on Market Street, which is pretty incredible itself, but back to the donuts: THEYARESOGOOD! My friend and I snagged a banana pudding donut and a croque madame along with two cortados on a sunny Tuesday morning, and not a damn thing was less than delicious at this place! But the donut was definitely the star of the breakfast. It was a perfect blend of banana and sweetness in a doughy encasement. I only wish we had bigger stomachs so we could’ve sampled another! There was also plenty of seating, the staff was friendly, and while it wasn’t the most inexpensive breakfast I had while in New Orleans, it just might’ve been the tastiest. I highly recommend checking this place out if you like donuts(so basically, if you’re a human you should go here!)

If I lived closer to this joint, I would be one of those yuppies sitting around drinking pour overs and studying on their super wide booths(probably could fit 8 people if you squeeze it) for hours on end(rewarding myself with donuts along the way of course). This place is great. I had picked up donuts here before for a morning work meeting, but I really enjoyed sitting down and enjoying the space and the sliders weren’t half bad either. I recommend following them on Instagram(@districtdonuts and their mobile food truck @streatcar). They post that days donuts each morning. Tried the cheeseburger and pork belly sliders this time around. Both were really good — they came out hot and the sauce on the cheeseburger was great. Only critique is both seemed a little too salty. This time around, tried the root beer float donut. Delicious — love the cream filling. And the cheery flavored sugar/pop rocks on top was such fun. This place has something for everyone. A Magazine Street staple for years and years to come, I’m sure.

Holy moly! If you are into doughnuts, this is an absolute MUST while in NOLA. Don’t be intimidated or discouraged if there is a line outside, it is definitely worth the wait and the line moves fast. On our visit we had talked to some locals who raved about the doughnuts and sliders, saying that this is part of their weekend ritual, every weekend. We had to go and find out for ourselves what the hype was about. Doughnuts AND Sliders? Intriguing… When you enter, oh my goodness the smell is intoxicating! Sweet fried doughnuts, fried chicken, heavenly espresso. The only problem with this place is deciding on what to order. Choices, choices! The doughnuts are displayed in the case at the counter. It’s a pretty rainbow of delectable and unique flavors. We got a coconut basil doughnut but saw others that looked really interesting. After you order at the counter, they call your name to pick it up. Seating can be tricky but this place is so good, I’d take my food outside and sit on the curb, in the rain, in the cold, with a fox, in a box! We got the chicken slider, the pork belly slider, house salad that had an amazing dressing that helped cut the richness of the food, a doughnut, espressos and fresh squeezed Satsuma juice. Heaven! We really wanted to order more sliders and doughnuts but the weekend of debauchery and glutton in the Crescent city finally caught up with us. Our loss! This was an amazing find and we’ll be sure to make this part of our stops while in NOLA. Everyone there is super nice and a tip is to sit at the bar and watch the action! It was really cool to see the doughnut making process and to watch the amazing chef.

I flew ALLTHEWAYFROMBALTIMORE to LOUISIANA for a gourment donut from District, simply because I started following DD on Instagram, and I COULDNOT resist the simplistic pictures of the donuts. Oh the power of social media… In the course of a 5 days that I was in LA, I stopped in 3 times. Once to try the donuts that looked oh so delectable and delicious on insty, the 2nd time to fulfill the glutton in me, and the 3rd to grab myself a «Wedding Cake» donut to announce the engagement to my fiancé that happened the night before to the world!(see pictures attached) The donuts were even more delectable than I could have ever imagined, and the staff was so friendly and honest. I rave to all my friends about District and have even persuaded a couple to take the trip, merely for the simply fact of grabbing themselves a donut. I unfortunately did not get to try out the peanut butter cup donut… which is like my ultimate goal in life, so there a very large chance that my soon-to-be husband and I will be making another long trek to New Orleans for(at a minimum) a week, to ensure that the PB Cup Donut is served to one very Celiac Diseased, Gluten Pangs, Newly Married, Baltimorean Girl. Cheers to the memories District Donuts!
