Royal Street Stroll

This is the second year in a row that I went on the Royal Street Stroll. Frankly, it is overpriced and overrated. The ticket costs $ 85 and entitles you to free wine tastings and some food tastings as well. There is just not a whole lot that is interesting.
In fact, getting in was ridiculous. My friend and I arrived at 5:30 PM. The event started at 5 PM. We were in literally a 300 foot line. It took us 15minutes just to get our wristbands. Of course the worker said oh the line is moving quickly which it did. But a 300 foot line moving quickly is still a 300 foot line. It was totally ridiculous.
The lines for many of the food vendors were long as well. Some of the wines were nice, but others were marginal at best especially given the $ 85 price tag. The food was definitely better than the wine I will say that.
The only way I will come back is if I get a free ticket like I did this time. I would never pay $ 85 for this event.
