I love to look at estate jewelry and especially like cameo, turquoise and coral pieces. A pleasant woman showed me several pieces. I really liked a pair of coral earrings but the price was just too high in terms of other pieces I have seen elsewhere in other cities. I did like this store more than the other jewelry stores in the area. The merchandise really was estate jewelry and the sales people were willing to work with me.

Another high-end shop on Royal Street … but Moss distinguishes itself with excellent non-judgmental service. Despite being a serious collector of many things, I prefer to antiques shop in my cargo shorts and a T-shirt(especially when its a hundred bajillion degrees in New Orleans), and that didn’t faze the people in this shop. Didn’t buy anything on this trip, but I’ve penciled this shop in for a visit on my next trip.

this is where we bought tami’s wedding ring! so this review is going to be about the ring selection and not the rest of the antiques in the store that looked really cool but we never even looked at them because we were so mesmerized by glitters and gold. we went to all of the antique stores on Royal Street. a lot of the places say«Antique Jewelry» on the sign but then in the cases they just have a bunch of newish designs or really boring and uninteresting big olé diamond rings. in most shops the gal behind the jewelry counter made eyes at us that said«OK dude with a long beard and gal with tattoos, you are wasting my time as an incredibly important shop girl because YOU are not the kind of people that buy things in a fancy Royal Street shop». but what all those bitches didn’t know is we’re extremely wealthy and completely unreasonable with how we spend our money! we liked moss antiques because the guy behind the counter was really nice and helpful. in the cases at moss antiques they have antique jewelry, just like the sign said.
