This bar is perfect for locals and tourist alike. The bar staff is the best. Many times I have seen them go above and beyond for their customers even when taking abuse from drunk bachelorettes.

The environment was okay, but the bartenders ruined the experience. They were extremely rude, particularly the Katy Perry wannabe. She actually threw a napkin at my friend, which is just unacceptable. Couldn’t even say thank you even though we brought her a lot of business and were the life of the party at the bar. Not surprised to see other reviews sighting the same issue. With so many choices in New Orleans, I’ll pass on this below average place.

Wow. So rude. Came here for a bachelorette and gave them great business and they rolled their eyes at us. The bartender that looks like a pinup doll was a massive B. We were a loud group but bought a lot.

This was one of the most comfortable dive bars I’ve ever been in, and I’ve hit dive bars in cities all over the country. As soon as I walked in the door I could feel how great the vibe was. If they only had a better beer selection it would be five stars for sure.

Molly’s at the Market was recommended to Kris and I by one of our wonderful tour guide(Kathy) from Free Tours by Foot [ ]. Kathy placed a high emphasis on how awesome Molly’s Frozen Irish Coffees were and they did not disappoint! Service was fast and friendly, drinks were made strong, and the good half dozen Irish Coffees I had there over the course of 2 visits went down oh so smooth!

We came here for the cat. I saw a picture before we even scheduled our trip of a cat ordering a shot of milk at a bar and I knew that this was a place I wanted to go. Our group of 9 hiked here screaming«cat bar» because I may have talked it up a tad. Sadly, the cat is no longer there. I was told he now lives in the office due to an unfortunate situation with a customer’s purse. So nothing was going to make up for my disappointment, but luckily I could drink away my sorrows in their AMAZING iced Irish coffee. Forget about the hurricanes and the grenades. If you are in New Orleans, this is the the must try drink. Other members of my group also got the hot buttered rum and said it was also very good. There was friendly service and nice music on the jukebox. The only thing that would have made this place perfect was a cat, sitting on a stool, ordering a shot of milk. Just sayin, there are probably some other cats that could behave themselves…

So we went here to have one of their famous Irish coffees. My husband had that while I opted to try the hot buttered rum. They were both amazing! The service was far less amazing. The bartender had no personality. She was cold and rude. Even after we left her a tip she didn’t say thank you, just snatched it up in front of us. We said have a good day and she just muttered under her breath.

Bartender was efficient and tossed out a good drink. Wasn’t overly friendly, but I wasn’t there to hang out with her. Drink prices are great and location is great. This is a dive bar so don’t expect the Ritz, but it seemed adequately clean. Sit by the door for some good people watching.

Delicious frozen Irish coffees served all day every day. Be forewarned, you will get a brain freeze. Grab a few to go as you peruse the market.

A local saw me looking at the phone and asked what I was looking for. I told them a drink and something to eat. He pointed down the street and said«Walk in there, through the back door, and enjoy.» He was right. A menu with a decent selection and everything I tried was great. Drinks were good and guy at the bar was happy to give us some site seeing tips. Thanks for being part of our trip.

Cheap cheap CHEAP cocktails. Good Lord they are cheap! I had a Moscow Mule for $ 5. Unheard of in NY! All of their specialty cocktails are $ 5. Beers run for around the same price. The bartenders are super friendly. A bit of seating, but not much. Some interesting characters hang out here but if you’re smart and confident then they won’t bother you. I knocked off a star because they like to use vodka in place of gin in what are usually gin-based cocktails. I cannot drink gin(no, really, I can’t) but someone I was with loves her gin and was disappointed they made her cocktail with vodka and charged her extra for the shot of gin she requested. Not a bad spot, especially along Decatur which doesn’t seem to get much love when it comes to drinking establishments.

Every time I’m in New Orleans I always stop by Molly’s several times to get their frozen Irish coffee. And every single time I have been treated like shit from the nasty bartenders. Today was no exception and actually it was the worst I have EVER been treated!!! First of all, the bitch never even acknowledged us when we walked into the bar(not even after we said hi to her!), then after standing at the bar for about 5 minutes waiting as she walked by us several times and STILL didn’t even crack a smile or say she would be with us in a moment to help us, we finally walked out. I have never been so disgusted and pissed as I was this morning. What a way to treat your customers!!! If you’re so fricking miserable at your job go work somewhere else but don’t take it out on those that pay your paycheck sweetie!!!

I use to show up at Molly’s EVERY Thursday night for dollar high life and dollar tacos for the Couchsurfing meetup. They sadly don’t do the dollar tacos anymore BUT the high life still happens. This place however has the best frozen irish coffee hands down. Anytime I’m wandering around the quarter on a hot day I make it a mission to get one of these things in my hands. Also you can’t beat this places jukebox. It’s a bit hipster to say, but its old school, non digital. The advantage to this is… no new top 40 crap. They also have A LOT of local bands CDs in it. Its a great bar to have a great time in.

Great frozen Irish coffee! This pub is better than anything on Bourbon St. Good service and good clientele.

In the past three days I have been to Molly’s twice! I am a sucker for a good dive bar and this place has won my heart! A great atmosphere where you don’t have to worry about«being fancy,» but people are still willing to get into to meaningful conversations! Their drinks are cheap and delicious, everyone mentions the frozen and it’s because they are really that good! This place is historically known for it’s poet patronage and in my experience, the crowd seems to follow that tradition, everyone I met was artsy and could hold a decent conversation. This really adds to the divey, but artistic atmosphere created by the interior decoration and old fashioned jukebox! I’m overall not a French Quarter kind of girl, but this place is definitely worth the trip out! NOTE: Just a tip, they only take credit card purchases over $ 10. I’m not sure if it’s all day, but I know at least 2 pm or later this is the case! Come prepared with cash!

This place is definitely a dive, and the Bloody Marys we had were made pretty watery — not surprised about the bottom shelf vodka and the bottled mixer, but I wish these had a little more flavor besides what was imparted by the dilly pickled green beans. Still, it’s cheap, and it might be the kind of spot you’re looking for in the French Quarter.

Frozen Coffee. Get it and be happy. I knew about the bar thanks to Unilocal and happily walked in after an evening walking tour. Didn’t stay just got my drink to go, but glad I stopped in.

Molly’s is an old standby. Never disappoints, the crowd is always chill, and the food situation is always great and changes up every now and then. The Irish coffees are a must-try. They always hit the spot! The juke box is a good one… sometimes you just have to ask the bartender to pump the volume. Molly’s is the spot to check out in the quarter above all the fuss elsewhere.

I’m a fan. That’s saying a lot coming from a true local who cringes at the thought of having to venture to the Quarter for anything. Well, i take that back. I don’t mind being in the French Quarter at all, in fact, I relish the moments of being there in the mornings. A much, much different vibe than at night; a vibe that I favor a bit more. Molly’s is just off the corner of Ursurlines and Decatur, one of the easier, accessible points of the Quarter. I keep it simple when i go to bars, my drink of choice is a good ol’ Jameson on the rocks, or neat. Simple, and to the point. It looks like this place is popular for that frozen drink they serve tho being that almost every time i’m in here someone is asking for it, or the bartender is telling someone that«it’s not frozen yet» I’ve had the food here a couple times and let me say, the red beans are to die for! I never, ever get red beans outside of my parent’s kitchen, but whoever is in that kitchen, their bean-game is on point. There’s also another bar towards the back of the place. I dig the connecting rooms making the place feel bigger, albeit the door gets crowded between the first bar and area between the food window and rear bar. Fair prices, good times, great bartenders(especially Jessi), definitely stop in and say hello, you’ll be glad you did.
