This place has amazing cold brewed coffee, it didn’t even need sweetener. We also tried the iced caffe au late and secret chai tea. I didn’t have the breakfast sandwiches but I wish I had, they looked delicious and they came out really fast for the table sitting next us. Will def come back again to try it.

This place is great. I’m definitely adding it to my go-to list of restaurants when visiting New Orleans.

I had the Congo square and it was delicious! Andouille sausage with baked eggs tomatoes and this chili bean salsa. So good! My friend wanted to get the sandwich tho they said it’d be a 20 min wait at least. Coffee was good. Would come again. V basic service

Stopped in for breakfast here as this was right in front of Armstrong park. The service was alright. Not very helpful when I asked questions about the menu. The tables were not wiped down either. The food took a very long to cook. We shared an order of the waffles which were okay. I ordered the Congo Square eggs. Two eggs with andouille sausage and black beans. The flavor was good but the eggs were a bit over cooked.

I love this place. I come to town about 4 times a year visiting family and mister Gregory is a go-to. It’s an unassuming little café serving up soups and sandwiches that I could eat every day of my life. I’m not kidding. For breakfast you can enjoy the different varieties of croque Monsieur and coffee. I usually opt for the iced café au lait. For lunch I love the cold sandwiches and chips. Just an easy, affordable, quality standby. I hope this joint lasts!

Best tomato bisque and French dip! Oh French press coffee is bomb too! So happy we came here! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a mellow lax place to relax. Granted I’m here during a week day, so not sure how busy it gets over the weekend, but CERTAINLY worth a visit. Came back to try their French onion… wasn’t anywhere near amazing, just average, stick with tomato ;)

Damn good breakfast from a quaint little hole in the wall café… highly recommended for a quick bite and a great iced coffee before starting your day in NOLA

Came here for iced coffee to go. There was no one in line but they looked very stressed with a lot of food orders. The guy literally said«it’s going to take awhile so chill.» We were going to just leave bc he was so rude but we already called our über so we decided to see if we can order before our ride. Our bill for two coffees was 8 $ and they wouldn’t break a 20 bill either… seriously? The iced coffee was good though. I wouldn’t return due to the rudeness of the staff.

FAN-freakin-TASTIC!!! This breakfast experience was among the best ever. Our favorite was the Congo Square — eggs with andouille and an amazing black bean salsa. This was an incredible combination of flavor. The Croque Madame was another excellent meal. I am not sure what they do to the waffles, but they were hands down the best ever — possibly a caramelized sugar coating? I did see a blow torch in use. Whatever it was — spectacular. As to another person’s post regarding location, I am not sure what they are talking about. It is 3 blocks from Bourbon St. and a 5 block straight shot from Jackson Square. We were there for the Congo Fest and found Louis Armstrong park to be beautiful and family friendly. We walked back an forth several times during the day with our three kids and never once felt uncomfortable. Yes there are some rundown buildings in the area and some characters roaming around … you are in NO … get over it. This place is worth it!

Quite possibly the best breakfast we’ve ever had! Great coffee, amazing waffles with chantilly cream, and croque Madame… and a Southwestern egg and salsa I don’t remember the name of that was our favorite! We might never have found the place except that it was the meeting spot for our Free Walking(VooDoo) Tour… which was also fantastic.

A friend and I were visiting from STL, walking around the quarter, STARVING and we came across this lovely place. It was a dreary day, but the temp was perfect and this lil place was exactly what we were craving. The service was wonderful. Very polite employees, talked to us about the menu. I got the grilled cheese and french onion soup with a cookie. Omg. It is the best I’ve ever had. My friend got french onion as well, but I think she got a steak and cheese or something of the sort. Been back in STL for months and once a month I think about this place and wish I could go back for another sandwich and soup. They must put love in this food. If you’re a visitor and you’re looking for a fresh, easy, non-deepfried or seafood dish, come here! ! It’s so so yummy. You’ll be happy you did!

Okay… so, the 1-star reviews are from people of a distant world without taste buds. This spot is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Unique fusions of flavor with that creole touch. What more can you ask of good olé Nawlins’?! I had the Old Country style waffles and the Hot Salmon sandwich. Forget about an eggs Benedict. This sandwich is «The Business»! And no need for syrup on this waffle. A little butter and the chantilly cream did the job. Please, visit this sweet gem on the North side of the French Quarter. And, you won’t break the bank either!

Food is delicious and atmosphere quaint, but don’t come here if you’re in a rush. The food is served leisurely, and its french influences also call for leisurely enjoying it. Portions were generous and tasty

Adam went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. sat outside, had croque madam, brie mac and cheese, a lovely asparagus salad, andouille, eggs, and beyond. a complete french bistro experience up in here, and they bake their own bread. wow. a delite. I have found my new breakfast spot.

Why does no one mention anything about the location? It’s not that it’s unsafe, but it is a little desolate. As a tourist, you’ll have no reason to come here. The Louis Armstrong park across the street is a bit run down. If you’re walking there, I would recommend that you come from the south and avoid coming from any other direction. I like going to grittier areas to search under the radar hole-in-the-walls…In NO, I did Manchu, Tastee, and Willie Mae’s…It’s sort of my thing. But I would not recommend a tourist walk more than 10min in any of these areas b/c there’s nothing to do or even see en route or at the destination. Also, in this case, the food is good, but not worth the extra 2 miles we walked:) I wanted to try the french baked egg. I chose the simple and got a salad with my Unilocal check in. My friend did not want his asparagus, so I got that too and it really made the dish so yummy. You also got what really seemed like a toasted viet baguette with the meal. There were two eggs. One was overly cooked and the other still had a runny yolk. I don’t know if they used cream like the original recipe calls for, but if they did, it made no difference. I also got the pain perdu. The pastry was served at room temperature, and I only thought it was ok in taste. I heated it up later at home in the microwave, and that improved the texture a bit… still nothing special though. Service was good enough. The waiter was kind to allow us to sit down to eat though it was close to closing time. He thoughtfully put everything in take away containers so that we could pack everything up if we took too long. Overall, a nice café with interesting menu items executed well. But from what I ordered, my experience does not warrant an immediate return.

My husband and I shared the veggie breakfast sandwich and a pain perdu. We also both had a cold brewed coffee. The sandwich was perfect! The pain perdu was delicious as well, but I would have preferred another flavor. They only had m&m flavored ones today. We both had coffee, and while it did have chicory in it, it was ok. The cashier was somewhat rude and, as others have mentioned, spoke in a fake French accent to us. When I asked him about an event that he mentioned taking place on Saturday, he acted offended. Good food, not so good workers. My husband and I went back a second time for lunch. We ordered the lunch sandwiches, but they don’t have the paninis with the cheese on top anymore. We got the French onion soup, but it didn’t have any type of crostini in it at all. It was just broth and undercooked onions. There is no drink menu, and the server acts offended if you ask the price of the drinks. Still, no improvement over the last visit.

So glad we found this little locally owned gem before a really long day running around New Orleans. Great people working, a fantastically simple but delicious breakfast sandwich served on french bread with pickles and tomato on the side. Fantastic iced café au lait. Right across from Armstrong Park.

I can’t believe I didn’t go upstairs the three other times I’ve been to Mr. Gregory’s. They have a lot of dining space up there and another bathroom as well as a lovely balcony you can eat on. I am sorry to report they are no longer serving dinner but breakfast and lunch are still there and quite yummy. I had a hot breakfast sandwich when I went last Saturday.
