This is one of those «I should have come here FIRST» shopping experiences because they had everything I was looking for. Moderate prices, excellent selection and variety, laid back & friendly customer service and free wine to help you break down those shopping insecurities. I’ll definitely be back!

Great selection and such fun gifts. Whenever I need a special or unique gift I make my way over. The candles are my favorite. What a variety of scents!

This is one of those shops that I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed, as I’ve stopped in here for years. They have plenty of moderately price jewelry and housewares and doodads that make great gifts… if you have the girly sorts to purchase for.
Another I like about this shop, it’s not packed to the roof with stock. You can actually peruse without being overwhelmed and move without fearing that you’re going to take out a shelving unit of glassware. WHEW.
The staff has always been helpful without being push and there is often free wine while you shop (BONUS). Sometimes I hit the jackpot and sometimes not.
The upstairs (ok 3 steps) back room is a separate business so be prepared to use your card twice if you want merchandise from both spaces.

Great stuff … and a wonderful artist doing Jazz prints in the back. Stop in!

It’s December 23 and if you’re anything like me, you probably have a bunch of gifts left that need to be bought STAT! Maybe you even have a mulled wine hangover and can’t bear the idea of shopping all day around town. Maybe even the idea of taking a stroll down Magazine St. is too intimidating for you. I’m here to say… get off your tuchus and DO IT! I’ll even make it easier for you… head straight to Miss Smarty Pants.
This will be your one-​stop shop for any gal in your life (and even a guy or two). Think arty/​bohemian-​but still extremely classy– accessories and home accents. Think lovely framed pictures, chic ornaments and magnets, flashy jewelry and delish smelly candles. I’m kind of in love with this store and want to marry it. I mean, get married in it. Or at least visit it regularly and frolic about.
There ya go. Bonus points if you can hit up Plum across the street for even more quirky gifts and ornaments and Scriptura down the block for the wrappings… the people in your life will love your for it.

I always make a trip to this adorable little boutique when I’m in town. Miss Smarty Pants is run in conjuction with Importicos Furniture; shabby chic and quintessentially New Orleans. They carry this brand of «Orleans» candles which are beautifully scented. I have them all over my apartment in San Francisco. I’ve also purchased some wall art here: a chandalier print on a metal base (totally funky and vintage) and an imitation Van Cleef & Arpels necklace. The also carry magnets of tiled NOLA street names as well as coasters and picture frames.
Miss Smarty Pants is my favorite destination for unique, feminine New Orleans gifts. I can’t get enough of this place and there is most certainly always a MSP shopping bag in my suitcase when I return home.
