We had shrimp po-boys for our last lunch break on the public interests program, now my NOLA food list is complete. I’m not normally a fan of sandwich-like food(it’s like reliving my nightmares during every finals’ period lol), but seafood po-boys are really delightful food especially for late-night snack or busy day lunch break. I’m glad I tried some place that’s not around the tourist sights.

Good solid food, great for a quick bite to eat. Love the hamburger on french bread. Good shrimp salad too.

Where Asian Sensibilities Meet Po-boys. This place was a great value and really the best po-boy I had while in New Orleans. I had the grilled catfish(not breaded) and it was so juicy and amazing. They double stacked the catfish into my little po-boy, so it was totally worth the price. This place used to be called New Orleans seafood and grill, but I guess the storm changed that. Now it’s run by a nice little asian family who make really good food. It wasn’t too greasy, just really flavorful. Great portions and a great price. It’s in a terrible part of town though, so it’s not the kind of place you’ll be going to regularly, but if you’re driving around and get hungry for a bite, stop in here and get the catfish. A lot of local workers go here for lunch, I saw a couple delivery drivers stop in, so it must be pretty good right? It was the best po-boy I’ve had though, great for picking up if you just got someone out of the House of Detentions, since it’s right around the corner. Stop by if you’re working in the area and try it out for lunch!
