Little pocket park on Decatur Street near the French Market — this is a nice place to rest your feet, sip a cold drink and cool down in the welcome shade and there is often a band playing in the café beside it.

Small«park»(really, just a small area with a fountain and some benches) next to the French Market. We sat here for a bit to eat our ice cream and rest our feet. There was a diverse mix of people joining us on the benches. It took me a few minutes to realize that we were in a «park» that the fountain was actually quite nice. As other reviewers have said, it’s not a park to seek out– but if you’re in the french market and looking for a few benches to relax on, this is the place to do so!

Very small no thrills park. Also was very crowded with no open benches to sit. If you stumble across, it then fine. But don’t go out of your way for it.

There is a poem, by Robert William, that states: It’s good the great green earth to roam, Where sights of awe the soul inspire; But oh, it’s best, the coming home, The crackle of one’s own hearth-fire! You’ve hob-nobbed with the solemn Past; You’ve seen the pageantry of kings; Yet oh, how sweet to gain at last The peace and rest of Little Things! =================================================== Nestled between the Mississippi and the French Market is this small park dedicated to architect Benjamin Latrobe. This can be a nice place to escape the crowds and stalls for a bit. However it is not always in the most sanitary conditions. *shrug* =)
