Incredibly flavorful! Highly recommend the specials, the fish with rice and beans and the ground melon seed dishes are both amazing and more exciting than just the rice or beans. Also, the guy working there is super friendly and will offer a taste of anything you’d like so be adventurous and give them a chance!

A truly incredible experience(x2!) from start to finish. Not to mention they are super knowledgable, will advise as to which combinations on the menu go well together and do everything they can to make this experience incredible. Lagos is the gem of the St. roch market. The bean pudding and fish with red sauce are an incredible combination. Rice could have a bit more flavor, ask for no rice and instead a side of the egusi(ground melon seeds with crawfish, greens, spices) which will be served with the cassava for dipping. The portion of fish is small(but $ 12 you won’t get a giant filet) but the beans will fill you up. The pulled chicken is also a highlight which you can get on top of the egusi. Can’t go wrong.

wanted to like this spot. paid $ 9 for about 3oz of fish and an absurdly tiny portion of rice. i cannot imagine anyone thinking this was an appropriate portion to serve an adult. for $ 9. it was bizarre. i can’t think of a time i’ve felt more ripped off on food. never again. p.s the rice was amateurishly undercooked. :p

$ 8 for an ice cream size scoop of rice and two mini tomato halves, and I’ll mention that the rice was average at best. I was really excited to try this place but couldn’t have been more let down by what you get for what you pay. My girlfriend had the cold fried chicken sandwich at the place next door for another $ 1 and not only was it delicious but it was filling. Either reduce the price for a scoop of rice, make it the best damn rice I’ve ever had, give more than a handful of rice, or at least include peppers.
