Living in this area it can be difficult to find good food at a good price. I live right next door and it’s such a treat. They have the best poboys in the city, honestly. I have tried multiple«hole» in the wall places and this is by far the best. I have tried the shrimp, oyster, and roast beef poboys they have all been amazing. The seafood is fresh and they make everything to order. It is a take out place so don’t come in expecting to sit down and eat, the people are so friendly and accommodating. I personally did not like the gumbo as it seemed bland and didn’t have any spice to it but someone else might like it. If you live in New Orleans and haven’t tried this place yet I feel so sorry for you.

Extensive menu of New Orleans favorites for decent prices. Also an extremely friendly staff from my one time visit, but I will definitely be going back. As previous reviews mentioned, everything is to go, but you have your pick of made to order or frozen items to take home. I’ve ordered an oyster po-boy and the crawfish bisque with rice and both were delicious. Looking forward to trying the gumbo!

Best po-boys in New Orleans! I am a local and recommend John’s Seafood to anyone who visits the city. Everything they sell is to-go, since they don’t have indoor seating, but you can take and have lunch on the levee! Their gumbo is also delicious, but I only recommend it if you’re planning on going home because you’ll want to heat it since its refrigerated. The service is quick and über-friendly! Definitely visit John’s seafood for a local’s experience. Peruse through their selection of Cajun food, and just take it all in. And yes, «coon» means raccoon meat.

Good priced seafood, basic and delish seafood based menu. Lots of prepared then frozen foods you can bring home to the family.
