Good char taste. Good regular burger. Simple menu. Learned too much about sketchy staffs extracurriculars, so awkward ‘ambiance.’

LOCALBURGERRESTAURANT Here for their Old Fashioned Burger flat grilled 4 oz ground beef patty. Ordered my Old Fashioned«all dressed» meaning everything including mayo, mustard, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, pickles. Now I will look for other restaurants that serve handmade burgers. Their special seasoned hand cut thick unpeeled fried potato chips were crispy crunchy delish, Order and pay at the counter. Take your drink and find a table. When the burger order is ready, someone at the counter will call out your name and bring your meal to your table. No tipping necessary.

A huge excellent burger but there was nothing special about it and at $ 10 a burger with no side was a little extreme. This is a great burger if your in the area but the price is a little extreme.

An overlooked gem, my boyfriend myself and my child were on our way to eat at regenellis when we noticed that they were packed and didn’t see a meal in our near future and decided to give this place a try. The burgers are awesome just beware of the large size, but oh so worth it :)

This was a damn good burger! No complaints! Fries were good as well. Everything was fresh. Customer service can’t complain. I definitely would go back.

I came around 8pm and maybe it’s because they were close to closing, but the burger was over cooked and dry and the lettuce was wilted.. The bread had a nice taste, but it wasn’t enough. I had the hand cooked fries which were decent. Next I’m in the mood for a burger I’ll just head across the street to Lakeview Harbor. They haven’t let me down yet.

I like this place. Quite a lot might I add. For a neighborhood burger spot, they got it going on. Consistent hearty burger that hits the spot every time.

The food is amazing — when you can get it. Over the past couple weeks we’ve experienced the place being closed when the hours of operation clearly indicate that they should be open, repeatedly being told that they’re out of the item we’re trying to order, and extremely unreasonable wait times. I want to love Jaeger Burger, but this is unacceptable. When I try to order two of the exact same thing at opening(first customer of the day), there shouldn’t be just one portion — forcing me to play the ordering guessing game as I pick something else — and it really should not take nearly an hour(57 minutes, to be exact) to get my food.

Small little burger joint in Lakeview. Solid burger with a unique take on Chili Chesse fries(think thin sliced fried potatoes). If I wanted a burger and was in Lakeview I would hit it up. I would not drive from other parts of the city to eat here.

Amazing burger! I didn’t get the Jaeger burger, it’s huge. I got the smaller one and it was perfect. We got cheese fries(they were out of debris gravy for Cindy’s fries), and they were also delicious. It is small inside, but wasn’t too busy when we went which was late afternoon. We’ll go back for sure!

Small hole in the wall in lakeview. super tiny but cozy feeling. no liquor liscense but you can bring drinks from parlay next door(same owner) nice server who will give you good tips. she recommended i get the hand cut fries for my cheese fries and she was right. they were awesome. they layer the effort so no fry is without cheese. classy. i got hte jäger burger dressed. awesome big bun that is better than a normal bun but i cant really describe it. the bun is bigger than the burger which could bother some people but i like carbs. i got AMERICAN cheese cuz i am a purist. Overall the burger was awesome. I really realy liked it. Top 5 in the city for me. Quality for sure. Nice time if i have a bigger appetite i will get the muscle burger which has more toppings than i can remember. sounded awesome. i really liked the place. i am not in lakeview much but i would go back in a heartbeat and i would recommend the place to anyone looking for a top notch burger.

I agree with Nicole C.‘s sentiment of holy hamburger! I came here yesterday, Carolyn, was a great waitress. I have been here a couple of times before, but today I had a mission. I ordered the basic burger with cheese. I came here to finish an assignment for a course that I am taking at UNO in HRT. Carolyn gave me the down low that I needed. The burger is fresh made, has great flavor, and the onions that are grilled, oh my! They also have homemade blue cheese dressing and homemade ranch dressing. I the past, I ordered the cheddar fries, and they were awesome. Too much for me to eat by myself. This place is definitely the go-to place for a great burger.

Holy hamburger! This place is cooking up a great one! Sunday afternoon, looking for a late lunch, stopped in Jaeger Burger for the first time. First off, the lady(wish I got her name) who was running the whole show was impressive. She took orders, bussed tables, seated us, ran orders to Parlay’s next door. That’s another thing, apparently if you are drinking next door and make an order they will walk it over to you. That’s good service. Since I wasn’t starving I got the 4oz Old Fashioned Burger. Even if I was seriously hungry, I would still order this one. It is the perfect size! Just enough to satisfy without making you so stuffed it hurts. The burger was juicy, had great flavor, and the grilled onions made it that much better. The Jaeger Burger was ordered as well and that’s on the bigger side, a 7oz. It was happily finished. Got the hand cut French fries, I suggest y’all get these! A small burger place, with some sandwiches as well, that is serving up a quality burger in the heart of Lakeview. Patron this place and leave happy!

The place is small but the staff friendly. We split the gravy cheese fries and the chili cheese fries to start. They were out of cheese curds so they couldn’t make poutine :(. The gravy fries were delicious. I did get a bite of the chili that was cold. It was fully cooked so I guess they make it and warm it beforehand. The monster burger is huge! About 10″ top to bottom. It was really good, but the saltiness of the bacon and grilled ham over powered the flavor of the ground beef. The burger was good, but there are other burger joints that I prefer.

I was happy to hear that there was a new hamburger restaurant opening up in Lakeview, but I was a little surprised that they chose a location on Harrison Avenue almost directly across the street from Lakeview Harbor; a well established local hamburger favorite. However, Jaeger Burger can definitely hold its own, and definitely lives up to the«NOLA famous» Jaeger name. The restaurant is very small, and if you didn’t know its exact location, you could drive by it and never even notice it, as it is «sandwiched» between Reginelli’s restaurant and Parlay’s bar. Upon entering the front door, you are greeted by a very small dining room(2×4 tops &5×2 tops), all in fairly close proximity. But the restaurant, even when full, was not that loud and conversations were easy to hold. We were greeted by an extremely polite server who was running the«front operations» of seating, taking orders, serving and bussing tables by herself. And she was doing a good job, so forgive me for not remembering her name. Although they also sell hot debris roast beef sandwiches, vegetarian sandwiches and a few salads, this place is all about the burgers. It starts with a secret blend of meats that is ground in house every day. They also use locally made buns that are buttered and grilled, courtesy of Susan Spicer’s Wild Flower Breads. The buns are delicious and hold up incredibly, despite the juiciness of the burger. But the beef truly sets this burger apart from any burger I’ve had in the last few years. Yeah, you heard me right; this is the best burger I’ve had in years! I opted for the 7 oz Jaeger burger with mayo, lettuce, tomato, cheese and bacon. For all of you who think that bacon is bacon, be advised that Jaeger Burger uses Nueske bacon. Many thanks to Unilocaler Tiff D. for informing me that Nueske bacon is a «premium bacon often featured in national publications such as The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Gourmet Magazine». My burger was perfectly cooked, as was the bacon(and there was a very generous serving of bacon too). To me, there is nothing worse than overcooked bacon on a burger, but mine was cooked to perfection. The bun was toasted perfectly and the condiments were fresh and crisp. I don’t think this burger can be improved. But perhaps I’ll opt for a fried egg on top next time. We also got an order of cheese fries, and I was equally impressed. The hand cut fries were cooked perfectly, came out piping hot, were not greasy and were blanketed in cheese. Some may say this place is a little pricey, but you truly get what you pay for. And I still stand by what I said in that this is the best burger I’ve had in years! The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the lack of adequate ventilation. As soon as you walk in, you are immersed in the smoky goodness of cooking burgers. And even though it’s not totally overpowering, you will definitely leave smelling like food. All in all, this place rocks.

Burger was good. Got the Jaeger burger and you could definitely tell that they grounded that meat that day. Was super fresh. Unfortunately wasn’t impressed with anything else. Ordered a side of their poutine with that. For the same price as the burger, we got 10 slices of potatoes that looked more like chips than fries. There was a little sauce and even less cheese. I wasn’t happy with that. But much better than Harbor! And staff was very nice and friendly.

The burger was great. It had an oniony flavor to it, kind of like a Lee’s hamburger but with a much higher caliber of quality and size. The 7oz. was way big. You can get the usual hipster burger add-ons like a fried egg, mushrooms, or super thick bacon smoked with whatever free range wood of the week people are smoking bacon with. Overall the best burger I’ve had after trying all of the new trendy burger joints around town. Good job. I have to agree with some of the other posters here. The place is very small. If you like to hear 18 year old waitresses talk about bubblegum and Miley Cyrus’ latest ass tattoo, then this is your place. Although, they were super duper nice and friendly. The dishwasher kid was sitting at a customer table as was the manager. Everything was a little too cozy for my taste. I had a place twice that size and it was a 2 man operation. You don’t need waitresses when you can hand the cashier your wallet from the front door. Pricing was a little off on the high side. When everyone knows you buy your cans of Coke from Sam’s for about .23¢ a can, charging $ 1.75 is a bit cheeky. Cheeky monkeys aside, I spent $ 33 plus tip for 2 burgers, an order of chili cheese fries and 2 cokes. I’ll let you decide. Again, the food was great but the atmosphere is a bit like a week at summer camp trapped in a pup tent with all of the cast of The Facts of Life. Tolerable, but you don’t want to stay long enough for Natalie to start farting. Hail Ming! — Paul P

Hand ground beef burgers! They beat the other crappy hamburger places in the area by a landslide. While they are new, they’re super busy. I work nearby & happened to stop in one day, so glad I did, the burger was phenomenal. It was kind of a long wait but it was worth it in the end. But if you have the time, it’s definitely worth it, I absolutely loved every bite. They give you an option between an old fashioned burger or The Jaeger burger. They each have their own types of toppings, the old fashioned is cheaper & smaller but delicious all the same.. I’ve only had the latter, but it had lots of DILL pickles(my favorite) and grilled onions. I’m also not a huge fan of their fries. They’re round potato slices, kinda mushy in the middle, and heavy on the fry oil. Again, this place is pretty new so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt for sure. The only odd thing is that when I looked at my bank statement the charge was from Smashburger? I’m guessing they own this place too maybe? If so, that’s interesting because I really dislike Smashburger & this place is nothing like a chain on the inside. Also if you go around lunchtime, chances are there will be a ton of pick-ups & to-go’s ahead of you. I went in once & the cashier laughed when I told her I only had 30 min to wait for one burger. So order ahead, or plan on waiting, if you’re coming during a rush hour! Definitely worth a try no matter what time of day.

Jaeger is new to town and I give them kuddos for opening a burger joint directly across the street from a well known burger spot. The menu is simple… burgers and dogs(they do have a fish sandwich, shrimp salad, and a vegitarian sandwich as well as a grilled cheese… now lets get back to the burgers). It offers all the basic toppings you’d want, variety of cheeses, bacon, mushrooms, onions, fried egg, and lettuce and tomato(if you’re into that kind of thing)… and even an artisan onion roll instead of a plain bun. Burgers are fresh ground in house. They use Nueske bacon(premium bacon often featured in national publications such as The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Gourmet Magazine), and cook the onions & grilled mushroom medley to order. There’s no question this burger is Fresh! Burgers start at $ 5 for a 4oz old fashioned. The House«Jaeger Burger»($ 8) is 7oz and comes on the artisan onion bun. I started with the house and built by own. Cheese, bacon, grilled onions, mushrooms, and BBQ sauce. Toppings add up fast but in the end I felt the price was worth the quality burger I ate. Other than the burger being undercooked, it was delicious. One of the best burgers I’ve had in NOLA! The space is really small and prices are a bit high but I would definetly recommend it.
