Great turtle soup, beautiful view over the harbor(with brown pelicans splash-diving all around), consistently good service. Great place for when the weather is nice.

We have become Brisbi’s Happy Hour fanatics. How could we not? From 4 – 6 Monday — Friday(closed Tuesday), the 50 cent oysters make me happy, but add the gorgeous view overlooking the marina at sunset, and a $ 5 glass of wine or a $ 3 draft beer and we are having a happy, happy hour. AND then there are the ½ priced appetizers like fried calamari with 2 sauces, fried green tomatoes with crab meat and remoulade, debris fries with roast beef and a horseradish sauce or the fried eggplant sticks with marinara… happy, happy, HAPPY Hour!!!

Wait — I actually have to give this place a star?! We just left brisbi’s, as it was our choice for our quarterly dinner meeting. What a disaster. Firstly, we waited over 25 minutes to place our order after we finished our appetizers. When our server, Brandon, was approached at the bar regarding placing our entrée orders, his reply was merely, «Do you need some assistance?» Placing our entrée orders was caked with Brandon’s cartoon character like sarcasm. Glasses were slammed. Napkins were tossed. Truly on the brink of a confrontation for Brandon’s passive aggressive attitude. When our entrees arrived, one of the eight was incorrect, blamed solely on the kitchen. The corrected entrée arrived approximately ten minutes later with ice cold sides. The sides were then replaced with microwaved asparagus and microwaved potatoes. Gross. Brandon only approached the table four times after dropping our check to see if our bill had been paid, making one verbal inquiry implying we needed assistance with the math. The door was literally locked on our heels as we exited the building. At 820PM. Do yourself a favor, Unilocalers. Eat anywhere else.

I live near and Love Brisbi’s. It’s fantastic to sit on the balcony overlooking the lake. Food is great, service is always fantastic and the drinks are perfect. It can be very relaxing. We love taking out of town guests here. It’s also a great spot to catch the game. I would so give them a 5 but what isn’t great is their live music. It’s loud — very loud. So loud you can’t talk to your dinner mates at all. A conversation is impossible. The music is downstairs but it drowns out everything inside and on the upstairs patio. The bands play worn out covers songs like they play at weddings. I like to go to dinner to eat and relax and to talk to my friends, but that is impossible having to yell at the top of my lungs to compete with a sub par local band playing Ride Sally Ride and She’s a Brick House. Ugh. Definitely call ahead first and ask them what time the music is stopping if that is not your thing. The bands normally stop around 8.

Not sure why this restaurant only has 3 stars but we have loved Brisbi’s since our first visit here a couple of years ago. The food here is excellent, the atmosphere is lively, and the view of the marina is awesome, especially at sunset! Ask for Colin, the best server ever! The signature seafood dishes are all prepared nicely(a cut above your typical New Orleans throw-some-fried-seafood-on-a-plate dishes). And there’s plenty to choose from, if you’re not in the mood for seafood. Always a great choice!

Overall, brisbi’s was pretty good. The service was very friendly, and the view was nice. Water, boats, skyline, the classic lakefront view. My mother ordered a dozen raw oysters, all tasted fresh and clean. When we ran out of crackers, we were supplied with more. I ordered salmon with hollandaise sauce and crab. It was excellent. The dish came with potatoes that were very flavorful, I might add. The asparagus on the other hand was dry, and lacking spices. It’s a great place to go enjoy the view and some classic seafood.

Quick summary: It’s not a bad place to eat, but not the best either. In a city known for seafood, I’ll be recommending a few other places before this one. But if you’re in the lakeview area and looking for a quick bite, it’s not a bad option. The service is friendly and atmosphere is nice. The food is mediocre. We sat outside on the deck upstairs with another couple. It over looks the Marina and you get to see the boats coming in and out. There was a nice breeze and watching the sunset was cool. You do have to deal with the occasional boat horn, but it is a nice place to relax and sip a cocktail. Full review: We started with the fried calamari appetizer. Delicious. Lightly battered and fried to perfection. Good mix of calamari pieces. It came with a side of cocktail sauce and a side of garlic butter. Easily the best part of the meal Next, I got a blue cheese wedge. The dressing was very watery and entirely in the bottom of the bowl. It did have chunks of blue cheese added on top and some bacon crumbles. Serviceable, but i wouldn’t recommend it. My friend got the Cesar salad. It was either low fat or it had gone bad. Very strong vinegar taste. For the main meal, we got: Sesame Tuna Steak– delicious. The steak was sear cooked medium rare, with a great teriyaki sauce on top. Came with a side of sweet potato fries. Hamburger — not bad. They did overcook it. There was no pink at all in the middle, but the barbecue sauce and the actual meat were good. The waiter told me they grind thier meat in house. Had it actually been medium rare, I would’ve rated it much higher. Shrimp plate — the worst thing of the night. The shrimp were over battered and fried too long. There were also only a few on the plate. They tasted like they may have been either frozen or a few days old. the regular fries were very mediocre.

We came here on a Sunday for lunch. There was no wait. The scenery is gorgeous whether you sit inside or outside. The menu had a big selection. For appetizers we had the crab cakes, fried cheese, and the raw oysters which were a good size. For my meal I had the sesame seeded tuna which was delicious. My only complaint was the waiter double charged my card but hopefully my bank will clear it up.

Never went inside upstairs, just the open area downstairs for a birthday. It was very crowded and hot, and loud. Not my scene. We did get to try some of the barfood off of others’ plates. The best thing we tried were these parmesan garlic fries that were amazing. It was a pretty cool atmosphere right on the water too.

This restaurant has huge potential, to which it does not live up. It is on the water so you have a nice view. However, although they have tables upstairs and downstairs outside, the downstairs is nearly always closed. Such a huge loss of revenue potential there. I have tried several things on the menu now and was never happy with my dining experience. The shrimp po boy came with 6 shrimp, No Kidding. The shrimp and grits came with 4 shrimp. I have had the other sandwiches and some fish specials. Every time the food is very bland, and does not always taste fresh which is completely unacceptable with the abundance of fresh seafood we have in this area. Parking here is a nightmare too. Just go to the lot across the street at the levee and make the walk.

I been to Brisbi’s a few time and this last visit was during the madness of St Patty’s Day Festivities. I was surprised to get a table so quickly. Even though the location was seriously packed, we still received pretty good service the duration of the evening. I went with a seafood platter. It was okay, wasn’t my favorite, maybe because there was an overload of calamari, which just made it blah to me. Enjoyed their flavorful fried oysters. This location always does a great job in the drink department. Great bartender no issues whatsoever. Parking. There is a private lot; even if it gets filled you can conveniently park across the street. This location I will say is a great date location on a low-key evening.

We sat at the bar at 5:30pm on a Saturday because the wait was 30 minutes for inside and an hour to be seated outside. The vibe was a fun boating crowd, lots of people outside at the bar with live music. I ordered the spinach and chicken salad with cranberries and candied walnuts. The chicken was perfectly done and the basalmic vinegar dressing was not too light nor or too heavy. My husband liked the turtle soup, it tasted like gumbo and not too salty. Overall experience was great. The food was delicious, bartenders were friendly and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Also, Brisbi’s has a great marina view!

This place is fantastic especially during happy hour! Stop by during happy hour for 50 cent oysters they are awesome. We had a full table of eight people order meals and apps with drinks during HH for about $ 130. All the dishes were delicious, what really stood out was the provolone fried cheese balls, the oysters and the stuffed shrimp po boys. Brisbi’s has a very nice atmosphere and really great views of the marina. I will say our waitress was a bit flustered with all that was going on and our drinks were a slow, but she overcame the obstacles and did a good job. Side note if you want oysters order them with your drinks right away especially during happy hour, your not the only one there who wants hh oysters. The cheese balls were addicting, the oysters were sweet. I recommend the stuffed shrimp po boy just because it looked so great and tasty. When I go back I’m going to try it. When I come back to New Orleans I will be sure to hit up Brisbi’s for a few cold ones and some delicious food.

Very limited parking. Had to wait about 30 mins for party of seven to be seated. Very nice view for lunch today. The food was average at best. Below average for the money. Had the shrimp poboy — the shrimp were huge but over-cooked. My wife had the stuffed mushroom appetizer which was pretty good. The men’s bathroom was gross. We got there about an hour after they opened and it looked like it had never been cleaned from the night(or week) before. The mirror was awful, and there was trash on the floor. The urinal obviously hadn’t been wiped or cleaned in weeks. If not for the view and the nice balcony, I’m not sure why people would choose this restaurant over others with better food.

This was my second visit here, but this time we were not able to get seating on the waterfront balcony because all the tables were occupied or reserved. We were there for nearly 2 hours and the reserved tables were never occupied. We had a table alongside the side railing and we were still able to view vessels coming and going to and from berths in the Lakefront Marina. We accomplished our primary goal which was to be there during the Happy Hour pricing between 4pm and 6:30pm.

A small group of friends wanted to test this new up can comer before we bring my bike club here. I really like the Happy Hour that has great deals on oysters, appetizers, beers and cocktails. We all ordered drinks, appetizers and oysters. I ordered the crab remoulade and green tomato app that was good with plenty of jumbo lump crabmeat but I thought the remoulade was a bit to think and mayonnaisey. The oysters were very good and considering other happy hour oyster spots, we got ours in good time. My friends got the tar tar tuna, fried cheese and garlic fries apps. All looked to be good. On this trip we did not order entrees since the apps are filling on their own. Overall this was a great experience with a great view of the marina. I will definitely bring the group to eat up on the deck and this will also be a great spot during crawfish season. I will be back.

We braved the lakefront on one of our frigid days this month and decided to check out Brisbi’s because they were open for lunch on a Monday. The views from the restaurant were beautiful. And the restaurant itself was gorgeous and oh so cold on this frigid January day. I know it’s set fishing camp high(and does have an elevator) but man, were my feet frozen after we left. The place was pretty empty so our server was pretty attentive. The don’t have hot tea so I just asked for iced with no ice and I was OK. They server their complete menu at lunch but I opted for one of the lunch specials, combination crab and shrimp remoulade over fried green tomatoes. The dish was OK but I felt like the really thick cut tomatoes didn’t balance with the seafood and the dressing. My dining companions were not super impressed either. I will definitely give the restaurant another shot… on a warmer day.
