Stopped into Parlays with some friends for drinks. It was a very young crowd that seems to be popular with the ladies. Parlays gets better the later you go and the beer is always cold with some specials. The DJ is not that great and the music too loud to hold a conversation at times. Overall a good neighborhood bar especially if you are looking to meet new people.

Great daily drink specials. For Sunday football it’s 3 dollar bloody Mary’s. Plenty of TVs is watch the game, and two pool tables in the back. Definitely a cool spot to watch some sports.

Very cool! Very friendly crowd of locals and really nice staff. Nice change from the Bourbon street scene. Good selection of beer on tap.

Loud. Like, real loud. Yuppie crowd, nice pool table with this built in bench on the wall that is good for storing your drunk friends in. Safer bar than most, considering it’s location is Lakeview, and there are cops always around.

Meh. Weird setup — the bar goes straight down the building from front to back and is pretty narrow so not a whole lot of room for movement if it’s busy or if you wanna get your twerk on. A good location for people that live in that area, but not worth the drive to Lakeview for everyone else as it’s ordinary at best.

I went to Parlays today and DANG was it smokey! I saw a guy who looked like Jeff Goldblum and tried to get him to say quotes from Jurassic Park all night long.

Not a terrible bar. I only go here because some friends of mine live about 2 minutes from the place. Okay crowd, but it gets super packed with young people who are just there to get ripped. Ridiculously smokey and since I am being drawn more and more to places that lack smoke completely, this is a turn off. They do have a few little bar games here that are pretty fun. Like Morgan mentioned, the skee ball is one of the selling points. All in all not a bad place if you are in the area, but not worth the trip if you aren’t.

Ok so you got to just appreciate Parlay’s for what it is… a smokey, loud, cramped bar filled with drunk fools who are eager to get in your personal space. The end. Ok so, ya I hate the smoke… and ya the crowd tends to air a bit on the obnoxious side… but I got to give it to them… they have drink specials every day of the week. That counts for something right? I have a feeling that it doesn’t matter what anyone actually RATES Parlay’s on Unilocal because they continually have a pretty loyal fan base that will patron the joint on a regular basis. I can only assume this to be so since I was the ONLY stranger in the bar. Literally, everyone knew each other’s names and knew the bartenders but me. I was like the new kid who walked into the crowded lunch room on her first day of school and realized she had no friends. But that’s OKAYLADIES because more than likely you will encounter some unsolicited advancements from men slightly older than your father. You might as well just roll with it if your going to go the Parlay’s route… ya know… when in Rome and all that crap…

I give Parlay’s an A-OK for effort. Since the last time I went there, they had built out the back room adding a good bit of more space. Funny enough, the bottle-necking STILL occurs in the front room by the bar. I played the new skee ball, though the balls don’t feel regulation(insert pun here) and the glass seems to be pretty low. I suck at skee ball, so that doesn’t help the cause either. I enjoy a good ol’ ladies night, all you can drink for $ 5 on Wednesdays, but no bar that I go to competes with how smoky my clothes, hair and purse smell after going to Parlay’s. :/ I will still go to Parlay’s on a rogue Wednesday night, but it would make my day if it were non-smoking or they invested in some smoke eaters.

Not really my favorite bar. I’ve only gone because I was forced to go or there was an event here. One time there was water all over the floor and some of the bartenders were acting very inappropriate — Coyote Ugly style.

Loud crowd an so-so service. Some great bartenders and a couple that suck. Loud, drunk, young, white guys all trying to impress the same fat girl.

I hadn’t been to Parlay’s in years, but my Lakeview drinking companions needed cigarettes. Why go to a bar for smokes when there are convenience stores? No clue, but somehow we ended up at Parlay’s. Having not been there for years, I was unsure what to expect. The Parlay’s of today seemed eerily similar to the place I remembered from the late 90’s. This very narrow and long bar was packed to the hilt with people. There were lots of what appeared to be dudes on the prowl, and single ladies lining the bar. While not my scene, if it is yours, you will probably enjoy this bar. The employees were friendly and somewhat efficient despite the very large crowd on a Saturday. This bar does bring back many memories, not all of which are good. Would the bad memories keep me away? Probably not, so next time I am in a drinking mood in Lakeview, I may have to spend more time remembering why I never really liked going there.

Went here two nights in a row because they had decent drink specials($ 3 bloody mary’s and margaritas on Sundays) and we were staying nearby. The room stank like vomit and excrement and the service was pretty bad. Go elsewhere unless you don’t have a choice.

This is a long narrow space with a bar that runs nearly the full length and then it opens up to a small rectangle in the back for pool and the bathrooms. I used to frequent this bar much more frequently after rugby 7’s practice on Scout Island in City Park in past Summers. This is the only bar where I’ve had the experience of a female walking up to me and my friend in our dead sexy short rugby shorts and sticking her hands down our pants and grabbing our male parts!!! I still make my way here every few months or so and it always has a nice crowd having good times. They have some really cheesy and bad karaōke that is entertaining to watch just for the sheer horror of it. The service is generally efficient and the drinks are decently priced. Make sure to check out the wooden Indian and say hello to him for me.

Small neighborhood bar with daily drink specials and… CRAWFISH Fridays! For $ 6 you can enjoy a plate of crawfish, corn, and potatoes right out of the pot. (That is… if you can figure out the ticket system thing. I ended up having to wait over 2 hours for the crawfish b/c I «apparently» missed the first batch, but we had nothing better to do than enjoy some great cold beers while waiting!) *People do smoke here, but since they had the doors open it was well ventilated.

So, Parlay’s doesn’t serve food, but I come here for pizza. Why? Booze + the Reginelli’s next door = awesome. Also, there are not many bars in lakeview, so if you want food you’re generally out of luck. Fortunately the Reginelli’s next door is accustomed to delivering to Parlay’s. The place is a smoking bar, so if you’re cool with that it’s all good, but otherwise it’s still not a «smoky bar». I regularly meet business acquaintances here to get them drunk, and find out what they’re really all about. The place has a parking lot across the street which is pretty awesome, because otherwise it would be a pain in the ass(even for lakeview territory.) The pizza(which they don’t serve) is amazing and again, they deliver straight to the bar! You can get drinks and know your cheese-filled dough, complete with anchovies and bell peppers, will be arriving soon to keep your buzz from turning in to belligerent drunkenness. The music selection is generally good, but maybe that’s because I’m a fan of the 90’s. Every time I’ve visited this place there has been some of my favorite 90s music on the jukebox. The place seems to be pretty popular for business-minded individuals. Every time I’ve come here I’ve run in to at least one other local Entrepreneurs who wants to talk about their businesses over some drinks. We also have happy hour for a referral group I am in here sometimes on Friday’s. The wait staff is attentive and quick with orders. Even when the place is packed, the staff is very good about attending to your pizza-fueled needs for stronger booze. I give Parlay’s four stars, but maybe it would only be three if not for their blood brother Reginelli’s. I may just be partial to getting pizza with my booze(I am,) but there is something spectacular about combining the two.

Rowdy tavern with lots of college types and khaki-clad women seekers. Good staff, but sometimes the crowd can be a bit harrowing.
