So much better under the recent management change! Free swimming 7 days a week with no drink minimum!!! The pool area is clean and they now have a bar maid who will come take food and drink orders by the pool! Who can say no to that? Also, great happy hour specials!

I live right around the corner to Indulge but have yet to visit the pool. The heat had finally gotten to me the afternoon of Running of the Bulls and a handful of us decided to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the pool area was; plenty of lounge chairs and space. Small bar in the back. Overall a nice crowd and on this particularly day, a bit yuppy(which I like). Fun music, not so loud that I couldn’t relax(but I have walked by on many days where it sounded like a nightclub.) We lucked out and didn’t have to pay a cover and there were some promo-girls handing out free shots. Tips: bring your own towel and sunscreen(don’t forget to reapply!) Personal vent: why do establishments feel the need to creatively name the men and women’s bathrooms? Of course in my tipsy state I barged into the«Pirates» room while a gent was using the urinal. Whooopppps. Embarrassed much? Ladies, do use the«Mermaids» room. Gahhhh! At least provide the universal male/female symbols if you’re gonna get creative. Jus’ sayin’.

Cinco de Mayo was my first time at Indulge and truly, i like the place, i really do. They’ve got a really nice set up, plenty of space for groups. The outdoor patio area is the spotlight of this place, obviously. Sporting a nice size pool and my favorite, the hot tub, there’s also a little tiki bar in the pool area as well. Not sure if they were not expecting the crowd they got that day because service was slooooowwww. Luckily tho, the hot tub along with those nice ladies i was talking to kept me preoccupied so i didn’t deal with the bar too much. There were some great specials going on tho, $ 5 margaritas, $ 3 tequila shots, but of course one would expect such deals on a day like that. Most of the crowd tho were being divas and not swimming, which kind of set a weird tone, but it’s definitely a spot i’ll be stopping into more over the Summer. I’d like to see this place stick around, it could really take off if they promoted more, but New Orleans being the place it is, it’s usually not very long before word gets around.

Living nearby I really wanted to love this place — I was very excited when they started construction. But it turned out to be a dud. Less than mediocre food(in New Orleans??? One has only to swing a cat to hit an awesome chef!). And so noisy — too loud to enjoy. Clearly, if they’d used the name«Indulge» with the picture of a lotus flower that might have fared better than a drunken pirate. Nope. For a better experience, go to the REAL Country Club in Marigny.

I had no idea this place existed. The outside is so discreet you have no idea of the oasis behind the front doors! Everything is really well decorated, the drinks are phenomenal, and the staff is friendly. The pool was so chlorinated that it was foggy, but it’s only 3.5−4.5 ft deep, so it’s more for hanging out than for doing laps. There’s a volleyball net set up in the middle of the pool. The hot tub was warm instead of hot, and If you want the bubbles turned on in the hot tub you can ask a staff member.

I’ve gone to Indulge two Sundays in a row, and I can see it quickly becoming one of my favorite weekend spots. Service is top notch. Everyone is always really nice and helpful. I’m always greeted when I walk in the door and everyone is always smiling. The atmosphere is really nice. It’s kind of a classy, beachy theme. Feels a little bit like you’re in Key West. Inside there is a bar and several tables. Outside, you’ll find another bar, several tables under a covered patio, and of course… the pool. You pay $ 10 for all-day pool access. I think this is a great value. A friend told me that the pool is free on Mondays. There’s a volleyball net over the pool, and it’s a lot of fun when you can get a group to get a good game going. They have a DJ out there on the weekends! Mimosas are $ 2 each until 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. This is a great deal! There’s a bar inside and outside, and a really nice waitress(Sara) comes around to bring food and drinks to you while you’re out by the pool. I’ve only eaten there once. I had a club sandwich, which came with fries. The sandwich was really good and very generous with the meat. If anything, I’d say it could’ve used a little more mayo… but I just added more and all was good. Their fries are waffle fries, and they are REALLY good! I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Indulge. But I almost hate to, because I’m afraid once the word gets out, lounge chairs might be hard to come by on the weekends.

A Good Bar & Grill, But Also A Decent Event-Space SITREP During my trip to New Orleans in May, I got to spend time here over a few days and was privy to some pretty outstanding treatment and deals. THESETUP Besides being a cool chill bar and a grill for some chicken sandwiches, this was my «home base» for meeting up with friends as well just enjoying a place to relax when I got tired of doing all the«touristy» stuff. Indulge Island Grill was in fact my «Pirate Port of Call», and with several different zoned-areas for different kinds of usage, it was a fun place to use as my launching pad as I moved out to different events & locations in New Orleans. EVENINGLAUNCH I first came here in the evening of Thursday, May 9, and met up with several friends. We had taken over the large upstairs break-out room where we could gather all of our stuff together. But of course there was the downstairs bar and restaurant-grill where we could get great rum drink specialties(from the Old New Orleans Distillery no less — see my review on that awesome place!) and«indulge» in some other tasty bites. WEEKENDVISITS Throughout the rest of the week, there was also the opportunity use the pool area with it’s separate bar, and actually go INTO the pool(cooling & relaxing!) and the jacuzzi(undoubtedly the most popular part of this venue judging by my and my friends usage of it!). REFRESHMENT — PIRATESTYLE But the party on Thursday night was indeed the best night of my visit to this venue. While there, I got to enjoy: * Rum drink specialty drinks from Old New Orleans Rum(as mentioned above); * Cool tastes from New Orleans Ice Cream Co; * Dropping the anchor with the cool tunes by a great jazz trio ensemble; * And after plate FOUR(4) of complimentary hoer’ d’oevres(I just could NOT get enough of the spicy wings), I really didn’t dare go back into the jacuzzi! ;) LATELATELATE! At the Hotel Modern, my room service food options shut-down at 10pm. But not Indulge Island Grill! Open til Midnight during the week — and 1am on the weekend nights — this was a great place to get some grub late at night! The chicken andoulli gumbo and the fried chicken sandwiches are both outstanding! THELOWDOWN I had a good time enjoying the refeshing beverages, tasty bites, and making some great friends while partying at Indulge Island Grill and I would go back there in a NOLA heartbeat!

Nice place, friendly staff. Only complaint was I stopped in 15 minutes before 9 and was told the kitchen was closed(signs stated it was open until 9). Was rather disappointed.

This is for a review of the pool/bar area. I was here for a private party. I really liked the pool area. I didn’t get to swim, but I can see how during the summer this would be a cool hang out spot for those of us who don’t have a pool or want to sneak into a hotel pool to swim(ha). The pool is a good size and there is a nice outdoor bar and seating area/cabana area. Really nice for a party or something. The inside bar area is nice too. There is a pretty decent beer selection and the bartender was friendly and nice. The seating is somewhat uncomfortable and left a little something to be desired, but besides that I really enjoyed it here. I would love to go back and actually try the food and get the full experience.

So we went back yesterday to swim and have some drinks and this place has gotten its act together. Service was great, and the whole vibe was just great. We had a freaking great time hanging by the pool, playing the volleyball, and generally pretending we were on vacation. Thanks to all of the staff that was so much fun. Great times for all. Can’t update the food portion of my review as I didnt really eat. I had one nacho off our plate and it was good. Nothing WOW. And not as big as most nachos are, but it was tasty. But the drinks were a blast… and like I said, the service was really welcoming and friendly. We will be back!

Hmmm… this is tough. The staff was awesome. The bar was pleasant. I did not sample any food, but my ginger based cocktail was lovely. So why 3 stars? The bathrooms. The restaurant/bar bathroom is shared by the pool facility. There was a mid-day party when I was there and the very drunk girls were wandering in and out barefoot(shudder) and so the bathroom floors were filthy and dangerlously wet. If I was eating lunch while at work… I would not want to use them. Is that a dealbreaker for me? Probably not and I’ll give it another try and maybe this time use the pool… but probably not the workout room because y’know I’m lazy.

I’m not sure exactly what to think of this place. To be fair, we went on a Thursday afternoon, so I am sure that the weekend is much more packed! The premise is interesting. They have a bar in front then a hot tub, pool(with net for volleyball) and cabana setting for lounging as well. I just don’t know if this should be a happy hour spot, a country club type place where you pay a monthly fee, or something in between. I could definitely see this being fun to rent out for a special event.

My sister and I stopped in before a Unilocal event to have some appetizers and drinks. I was quite shocked when I walked in the door. I thought it was just a restaurant and bar. This place is so much more! They have a swimming pool and jaccuzi out back that you can get a day pass for, or you can get a monthly membership. It kind of reminds me of Rick’s Café in Jamaica because of the swimming pool/bar situation. The bartender was able to make me lemon julep upon request, and the food was pretty good. I ordered the sweet & spicy wings, and they were on point. I really like this place, and would recommend to anybody wanting to find something different outside of the French Quarter for the day if you are a tourist like me. It is located off the beaten path in the CBD, so you may want to take a cab there.

Nice walk from CBD and no wait for a booth. Brought a couple co-workers with me today and am updating review only to comment on the three things we ordered. Meatloaf was delicious. I’m far from an overeater, but the slice of meatloaf definitely should have been about 20% larger. Smashed taters were okay — a little too flavored(garlic?) and could have used some butter or brown(beef flavorish) gravy, but the main thing is that they were served just between cool and lukewarm. I wasn’t in the mood to send them back, so I ate ‘em. Small salad with poppyseed dressing was delicious. Perfect size for a side salad — and it was more than just lettuce! It also came with cukes and ripe tomatoes. What others ordered: Nachos with added ground beef. I tried these and they were very good! I will order for myself(sans jalapenos) next time. Club sandwich that came with seasoned waffle fries. Club looked alright — very neatly sliced triangles. I tried a waffle fry and it was, well, a seasoned waffle fry.

We recently held an event there, and was more than happy with the staff, setup, and overall value provided by the venue. We were offered three different meeting spaces, all with AV capabilities, and each with their own unique setups, so options were plenty. The staff definitely went out of their way to ensure that our meeting was a success. We decided to meet outside because of the bar, and because the weather was so beautiful. But we were also shown a nice, air conditioned conference room upstairs, as well as a back patio with tables and seating. I did not eat there, but the bar service was quick, friendly, and reasonably priced. The beer selection at the tiki bar near the pool is top notch(Abita, NOLA, Magic Hat). I did not swim, but look forward to using their pool and deck chairs sometime this summer!

Ok, the pirate theme is a bit cheeky for me, BUT once I got past that part it was pretty enjoyable. Last night after attending the wine tasting at Keife & Co., we walked down here to grab a bit to eat. The décor is «islandy» for sure, yet not over the top. Very clean. Although the dinning room is cramped. If I were them, I’d remove 2 tables &8 chairs. We had to wiggle to our table. Good thing there wasn’t anyone else there because we would have knocked into everyone and thing! I’ve noticed other reviews talking about bad service. Well, the service was just fine. No complaints. We were promptly seated. Allowed time to look over the drink menu and then the dinner menu. Everything came out in a timely manner. Our waiter was adorable. Didn’t hurt that he spoke fluent French. *le sigh* I’m assuming they have worked out their kinks in this area. I ordered one of the appetizer specials, the calamari stuffed crawfish. It was well prepared al dente. Not rubbery at all. The red sauce had just enough heat on the back end. The only problem I had was the portion for the price. I’d say they were roughly 2″ long. There were only 2. So, $ 11.00 for 4 bites. Not to thrilled about that. They were 4 great bites, don’t get me wrong. There should have been at least 8 if not 10. One of my friends ordered the ahi tuna dish. Whatever the dipping sauce was, it complimented the tuna very well. Another friend ordered the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. Even though I didn’t get a bit of the burger, those sweet potato fries were THE best I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Super crispy and light. Not greasy at all which is problem most places have or they over cook them. These were perfect! Cocktail time! I wasn’t too happy with my cocktail. Again, not the taste but the portion. I ordered the strawberry basil caprihina. It was served in a teeny, tiny glass. Most people would call it a low ball glass. It seemed even smaller then that. Three sips and it was gone. If this is how all of the cocktails are then this isn’t a drinking place for me unless it’s happy hour. I’m assuming that because it’s technically in the CBD they can get away with over priced cocktails. Speaking of which, from the looks of the flyer, they do have amazing happy hours. Had to check the pool area out which looked amazing at night. The pool was lite up with blue and purple lights. Again, it all looked very clean. The restrooms, again, very clean. We didn’t get to check out the gym area, but I’m not really too interested because my building has one. Although if I were looking for a place to get a membership, I’d def consider this place. Tonight we’re going back for their crawfish boil. I believe it’s $ 5.00 per lb. This place is within walking distance of where I live. I’m sure it will become one of my hang outs but it will prolly be centered around their happy hour’s though. The prices and portions are not the greatest. Last night I dreamt I was a pirate.

Ok the venue is still a cool place but after returning a few times to eat they definitely have some work to do with getting the food to where it needs to be. Their burgers and chicken sandwiches really need some tweaks to their flavor and cooking. I’m afraid they seem to really need some staff changes in the kitchen. This is an ambitious and complicated idea they have and they really need to step their game up with their food if they want to draw a good crowd.

This place is not what you would expect in this location. It’s a pirate-themed restaurant with a pool and a gym upstairs located in a dead section of the CBD, but somehow it works. The food is pretty tasty and reasonably priced(I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was big and delicious), the décor is nice without being super-trendy(the chairs were super comfortable), and the waitstaff were very friendly. I’m definitely going to return for mid-week lunches. I just hope this place gets some attention so it can stay in business.
