A reasonable Hotwire deal prompted us to take a weekend trip down to the Big Easy! The few reviews we came across about the hotel had us a bit uneasy but we decided to focus on all the activities we had planned for our short stay! Like most people we were a bit confused with the multiple elevators so first TIP, when you enter through the double automatic doors(main entrance/Hyatt House sign at the front), make a left and voilà, nestled in the corner is Elevator 1 to take you up to the main desk for check-in(11th Floor). TIP2 The side entrance is locked on evenings and weekends, the security officer explained this is the business area(this is the spinning door with 1250 Poydras Street written above), so keep that in mind. Check-in = easy. Lobby = cozy with an amazing view. Staff = very courteous. Complimentary breakfast = alright. Our room was nice with a beautiful view HOWEVER when we settled in, we noticed a visibly dirty/unchanged pillow case on one of the beds and an unhinged toilet seat. Also, while we were unaffected by the Valet parking being full, there were a few disgruntled guests. What I did like about Hyatt House was its location, the Street Car was easily accessible(and inexpensive) and/or you had the option to stroll into the French Quarter and enjoy all the festivities. Hotel logistics: 2⁄5 Room 3⁄5 Location 5⁄5

We found The Hyatt House to be delightful. Rooms were very clean, nicely appointed and spacious. Hotel was within walking distance to Canal/Bourbon, shopping and restaurants or an inexpensive streetcar ride away. Just far enough away from Bourbon for a restful night. Breakfast in the morning was hot, with an omelet bar and meat choices which changed daily. There is a nice bar for a nightcap with a limited menu. Employees were friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was there were people loitering/lingering in first floor lobby when we returned at night, so we went to adjoining hotel to access elevators. I would have liked a security guard present or doors locked with room key access only.

This is a hidden gem. It is inside an office building starting on the 11th floor. Just ride up an express elevator to the Lobby with gorgeous views. Our room was ready early so Keyota allowed us to check in early so we could prepare for our noon reservation at Antoine’s. Jamal(the valet) was friendly and helpful. The hotel is stylish, clean, and well-appointed. The breakfast area is very nice and we’re looking forward to the free buffet in the morning.

Stayed here New Years week, so I understand it must have been a busy time for them. The room was nice, nothing too extraordinary but it was fine. Check in was easy and the actual hotel was good, it was just fairly complicated to actually get there. I never knew what the«main» entrance was, and getting to my room from the Hyatt Regency entrance required a lot of walking. The location was right across the street from a streetcar stop, so that was convenient. Saved us from having to walk a little under a mile to get to Bourbon street. Overall, it was a nice hotel but I would think twice about staying there again. There’s nothing glaring that they did wrong, I was just left feeling slightly underwhelmed by the entire experience.

Not ready for prime time. No rooms available at check in time. Guest after guest with reservations turned away. Telling us two hours? Unacceptable. Valet parking full also. You bit off more than you can chew. No excuses.

This hotel is brand new so I understand they’re still working out the kinks BUT on a holiday weekend their valet was full by noon, no early check in allowed, and then multiple people sitting in the lobby well after they were promised rooms no later then 3pm. It’s now 5pm. The staff is friendly and nice but there aren’t nearly enough of them. There are only two computers to check guests in at. Probably one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had and that’s coming from someone who travels often. There are plenty of options in NOLA for hotels, avoid this one.
