My friends and I visited this restaurant twice during our stay in New Orleans — once for dinner and again for breakfast. We were all pleased with our meals! The menu is pretty extensive for being in a hotel(though I was really sad about the restaurant being completely out of chargrilled oysters) and not at all expensive. The food was delicious and filling. There is a breakfast buffet available, but I’d skip it(I think it’s around $ 14/person) and instead order off of the menu — you really can’t go wrong with it! The restaurant manager(whose name unfortunately escapes me now) was such a pleasure — he recommended things to see and other places to eat during our stay — all within walking distance!

Dined here while staying at the hotel for breakfasts and dinner. This restaurant is lovely with comfortable seating and terrific food. The service is impeccable. Do visit the bar. Scott is an amazing bartender who also knows the city well and recommended a fantastic local open mic where my husband got to play guitar with local musicians. Scott worked at Pat Obrien’s before they started using a prepared mix and knows how to make you an authentic New Orleans Hurricane from scratch.

For hotel food, my dinner the first night here was very good. I ordered the crab cakes — very happy and the remoulade sauce had some kick. The crawfish pasta dish I had was pretty decent. Yes I have had better food in NOLA, but I wasn’t disappointed with the hotel.

As it was raining during the time I visited in October when the Water Convention was in town, we didn’t go anywhere far to eat. For the convenience, it was easier to dine in the Hotel restaurant. Come to find out, they ran out of food many nights — poor planning! If management knew there was a huge convention in town, why wouldn’t you have ample food in the restaurant? They were extremely short-staffed and no hostess onsite to greet customers. We were disappointed and forced to go downtown Bourbon Street and the French Quarters in the rain FML! Unlike here in SF, the rain does not let up in New Orleans, it rains continuously causing flood zones; hence Katrina. I give credit to the bar staff for doing a good job during happy hour to ensure my son had the biggest root beer float, which made his day. I highly recommend they get their act together this year before Superbowl; otherwise, there won’t be happy Niners or Ravens fans in the South!

I ordered room service and was not impressed. The gumbo was good but the next day I ate cafeteria Gumbo that tasted better. For the price they are charging, you have to be beat out cafeteria food. I ordered Nachos because I was craving salty cheese and it was the cheapest type of cheese possible. Not queso but gross hot dog stand cheese. For the price tag, not worth it.
