It’s a 24hr bar in the gayborhood of Nola… I love swinging through here and meeting interesting folks and downing delicious drinks. Khrystian. I believe that’s how you spelled his cray name was a wonderful mixologist hahah he hates that word, nevertheless the man knows what to do with some dranks! Hope he’s around when I return to my beloved city again this year!

Was in town for a few days from South Florida and a friend said we MUST come here and to be sure to order a Seperator. Loved the causal environment, loved the bartender, loved the drink. It was like having an «Adult» Wendy’s Frosty. Another Love… How dog friendly they are!

My friend and I were looking for a good place to start and end our night from the festivities of the parades. Since we are located a few streets from the corner of this bar, we popped in. This is a great bar with large bar space and doors that open to the street along both street sides. It’s dog friend too! The people were very friendly and the drinks seemed reasonably priced. We will be going back all week.

Had a apple martini but it was lacking alcohol and over priced– I was hoping to be buzzed. I don’t mind paying for a good martini but come on… am Paying for the alcohol which I was shorted :(

I didn’t want to say anything ugly about the tall, fat bartender upstairs during New Years. The one that looks like Baby from«Who Framed Roger Rabbit,» but in adult form. If you don’t know which bartender I’m talking about, he was wearing some cheap tacky aluminum looking outfit.(Like that’s going to give him any reception.) He’s the one whose voice sounds like a passenger train derailing, but it wouldn’t matter for the people on board because they were a suicide group anyways. After hearing him bitch and make snide comments about some of the patrons at this toilet fragrant bar, I regret not purchasing my ticket for the previous said«train.»

Nice atmosphere, quick service, and good pours. Only complaint is the prices, ordered a mind eraser(well vodka and kaluha) which came to 14.00. I can get four dunks for this price two blocks away. Won’t ever be back, but nice if you’re a millionaire.

I LOVE Good Friends!!! Easily one of my favorite bars in NOLA — easily! Our very first night at the bar was kind of a mixed bag — and probably not so great a first impression. We came here looking to find a place to watch some football for the NFL season opener. Was not meant to be. Saints rule the place. So the classification«Sports Bar» is kind of a misnomer. Suggestion to Unilocal — devise a new business category — «Saints Bar». Every bar in NOLA should be put under that: o) So after night 1, we realized this was Not a Sports Bar. And ended up going to an actual Sports bar to watch the game after finishing the first beers that we ordered. But didn’t want to not go here because the vibe in the main bar downstairs felt great. AND I am also the kind of person who gives things /people /situations a second chance(ooh thank you Master for the consideration!). Came back the next night and had a blast. Met some fun locals. Made new friends. And the bartenders downstairs — Really make it worth the time spent here. So here are my rankings for the ones I met — starting with the best! Robert — He is a rock star. Makes a kick ass spicy Bloody Mary and a great dude! Michael — a close second — super super super nice guy(and that smile btw?!) Khrystian(so sure I am spelling it wrong but I know it starts with a K) — next best thing after Rob n Mike. Quite fast, works hard, remembers what guests drink, has the needed sass to put people in their place — LOL. Work it K! Joseph — yes, K&J are good trouble at the bar together and they probably know it too Loved the 2nd night so much that we were sure we had to come to the Saints Bar to catch the actual NOLA sports. So was there on time for the Saints kick off last Sunday. And boy does this town know how to celebrate their Saints. I get it. We do the same for our Pats(after all — we are Winners!!). But I have to say NOLA does Saints so much more than any other town I have been to. And clearly this bar takes it to a different level. * On the house Hot Dogs with Chili and all the fixings during the Saints game! * Free Shots for everyone for every Saints TD! I don’t think I have ever rooted for any other team other than the Pats the way I was rooting for the Saints last Sunday. Too bad they lost, but for the sake of the locals and tourists alike, I hope the Saints kick some as$ in NFC this season. And anyone and everyone should go to Good Friends to enjoy Saints football. Other side notes. They play good music videos although the DVDs are rotated and if you spend more than a couple of hours here, or come back the next day at around the same time, you may end up seeing the same loop of songs — rewind and replay! But the crowd is fun. And if the management can do something about videos on demand /requests, that would make this place super stellar. Hey, but nobody is perfect. And for what Good Friends is right now — it is pretty damn good!

I visited this bar last Monday and was beyond disturbed and disappointed. I ordered a Bloody Mary and as the bartender was making it I noticed his hand was bleeding. This is as he is reaching his hand into jars to get olives and green beans for the drink. As he served it to me he looked down, noticed his bleeding hand and said«oops, some dripped down the side of the cup»(referring to the drink) and proceeds to wipe his hand and the cup off and hand me the drink. I was beyond grossed out that he would still serve the drink and pretend as if nothing had happened. This is a health and safety violation and they need to train their bartenders better.

What the Hell happened to Good Friends? We had a wonderful time here in 2013(see the review below). We were back again for Decadence in 2014 and made this our Home Bar. It was packed full of happy people every time we squeezed in to our spot at the base of the stairs underneath the A/C vent. The cocktails were great. The strippers upstairs were hot and entertaining. The balcony was fun. THAT was a five star weekend. This year it was like a different bar. We never really saw it full of people. Was our timing off or is there something else happening? Could it have something to do with all the drunk straight girls roaming around pawing at people to dance with them, or insisting you pose for a photo with their unicorn doll, or cackling and screaming at the strippers upstairs? Could it have something to do with the strippers awkwardly jerking and spasming while standing in one spot on top of the bar? «Is he dancing or is he having a medical emergency?» I’m sure we’ll be back at some point again next year but it won’t be for long if it was anything like this year’s Decadence.

This was a multi stop on our trip to NOLA. The bartender we had-Richard was great! He poured a perfect beer and made hands down the best Bloody Mary I’ve had. And he took time to personally suggest restaurants and places to go.

We stopped by here briefly because we read good things on here by our fellow Unilocalers. We both got beers. They had a happy hour special which was nice. The bartender seemed friendly. The customers seemed like a variety of different gays. We watched some tv and there were a couple of friendly people there. The music was pretty good. Not like dance music though. Looked like there were some pool tables which would be fun! The bartender didn’t talk to us after we got our drinks even though they weren’t busy. I’ve been to better gay bars before. It was a relaxing spot to rest and get off my feet for a little while.

Came here 2 nights on this month’s trip to New Orleans and we really, really like this place. Super friendly staff — our bartender was probably the most attentive(without being pushy) bartender I’ve ever had. Look for him — his name is pronounced Christian, but you’d have to get him to spell it — it’s like, Khrysstian or something and there’s a funny story to go along with the crazy spelling. Spent all night gabbing with him. When we came to the bar the following night, he came around and kissed us on the cheek, remembered what we drank the night before and had the drinks waiting on us by the time we sat down. The name of this bar could not be more appropriate because you do feel like these people are your friends. We felt safe coming and going from here at night(and drunk). We will definitely come here every single time we go to New Orleans. Hi, Krystian! Khryschian? Kristyian? Oh, you know who you are. :-)

Prob my favorite bar in NOLA. It’s just off bourbon so it’s not so loud or crazy. I love the patio upstairs and the bar upstairs. That’s pretty much where you will find me anytime I am there. I don’t know what it is about this place I love, but I do. I feel a lot of the gay bars are all the same in New Orleans, but this place just stands out to me as my place to go too. Also the bartenders are all really cool. If you are there say hi to Jeremy for me.

Yes, technically a gay bar. But the most chill in the quarter for gays, lesbians, straights, and everyone in between. And just a block down from gay central. The upstairs bar and balcony is always worth checking out, especially on a nice night. I usually find a great seat when I’m least expecting it. Played the shuffle board for the first time tonight. The bar wasn’t too crowded and the pucks were free. The women’s restroom is under lock and key so it stays clean! Major plus!

Smoking is allowed in this bar, just fyi. Order the Separator. It’s an Irish coffee milkshake, $ 9 – 10, and it is perfection in a cup. Tip your bartender!

My favorite gay bar in the Quarter. Pretty friendly and umm you have to try a Separator, once. A super strong soft serve ice cream like drink. The bartenders were nice, drinks cheap and strong and has a more local vibe and less touristy.

We always end up here during Barkus! Stiff drinks, fun people, and great music! I love the old wooden bar and I’m sure it’s seen it’s fair share of spectacles in the quarter. Tucked away on Dauphine, it keeps the tourists away and let’s the locals play :)

This is a super-large bar occupying a nice corner location that offers fairly quick and efficient service, decent prices, and lots of room to spread out, even when the neighborhood as a whole is mobbed and when there are already a fair amount of patrons inside. The corner spot offers prime viewing of all the shenanigans going on outside, either from the ground or upstairs levels. Worth a stop if you’re in the area for a bar crawl.

Michael the bartender is awesome. Wants to know who are and where you are from. Great music. Chill vibes. You can tell that local folk love their french quarter and bourbon street. People are sweet, friendly and kind. Anyway, the embarrassing voluptuous bloody Mary’s was delicious. Our friend told us to try the separator; a creamy concoction of cream, brandy and frozen deliciousness. In total our double cocktails cost $ 14. Really great. Can’t wait to be back tomorrow night for karaōke.
