Great friendly bar. One of our trips highlights, and definitely worth a visit. Best Happy Hour in the French Quarter.

First off I was referred her from the Neighborhood Bar. Let me just say A very excellent referral!!! I had a great time. When I first entered the bar I was like wait a Freakin’ minute? This can’t be a bar? To my surprise I was greeted by Tom the bartender and he was like yes, what can i get yah? It made me feel so warm. It even felt personal so that made me automatically grab a menu. However, I was in the search if food only but I just couldn’t say no to this awesome friendly service. Even though it was a «gay bar» as some call it I didnt get that vibe. Everyone was so welcoming and like right off the bat a found some guys to converse with so I was not alone. Then my Margarita… OMG so great! It was like a glass of Awesomeness and Delicious heaven mixed with lemons and limes. I had to get two. Then the food was good. I had to go in the back and order though because they are sort of separate so i paid for my food then went back to the drinks. The cook brought my food out to me so I was impressed. I just loved the lighting and the way the bar is arranged. Very comfortable and soothing after a day of work. and They have an amazing happy Hour/Tom really can hook those drinks up!!! Overall I had a great time and I will be back!

This bar is the best by far… love the atmosphere and the courteous bar staff and the Food is absolutely delicious… my husband and i spent most of our evenings here drinking and just having a great time meeting new people. But most of all the prices are the best in town!!!

Great crowd. How do I know it’s a great crowd, you ask? Welllll… besides the fact me and my friends visited Friday night for decadence and we are greatness, I lost my credit card and they held it(with no extra charges or gratuity added) for THREE days. Nothing short of a bourbon miracle. Then, they gave me a Bloody Mary when I came back to retrieve it on the following Monday morning and apparently I wasn’t the only one throwing credit cards around like they weren’t maxed out :). Great place with absolutely wonderful bartenders

Really good food at a great price! The service was great and super friendly. I enjoyed my food and drinks. The bar/restaurant just has a great friendly and welcoming vibe to all that enter. I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely return soon.

Upbeat, trendy neighborhood gay bar with friendly staff. Open floor plan with good selection of liquors and poor counts longer than Sunday sermon. Praise Jeebus! Lots of flat screens with music videos playing along with sports channel. A few 8 liner machines in the back area. We were here last night after a pub crawl. Had a great time so today we came back for a crawfish boil.

My wife and I were on honeymoon staying at the Maison Dupuy and stumbled into the 700 Club :) We had such a great time that we made this spot our last stop for a night cap each night :) Their staff are friendly, they made great drinks and we always felt welcome :) Next time in NOLA, we will defiantly stop by :)

We absolutely loved this bar! We stumbled upon it enroute to the cemetery. Typical tourists getting lost lol. The drinks were good & the bartender was friendly! I died when I discovered it was called 700 Club lol thank you for a good time !

Friendly service, cheap drinks and good vibe overall. Lose one star for the OVERWHELMING stench of smoke.

700 Club is slowly becoming my favorite bar int he quarter. Such a refreshing and fun atmosphere. This place literally brings in every type of person whether they are straight, gay, transgender. The music is completely on both ends of the spectrum which will get any person nodding their head. I recommend this place. Only suggestion to the establishment. Bar tenders could be more outgoing. They tend to be a bit stiff and it might be just the strange weekend nights that I go.

I’m pretty sure this place is a hot spot but my travel buddy and I aren’t smokers and walking into an establishment where smoking and dogs are allowed, was a huge turn off. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs, but I rather not be sitting at a bar with a drooling dog sitting in the seat beside me. We came for the advertised 1 $ tacos, sat down at a table for 5 minutes and got up because no one came to serve us. Maybe next time.

Happy. Hour. $ 3.50 for a glass of wine is what brought me in and I loved the festive Mardi Gras decorations. I tried the mac and cheese bites and I just wanted to keep on eating everything they served. Whoever is working in the kitchen, you know what you are doing. I recognized some peeps from the neighborhood and made friends with two dogs. I didn’t like the fact that they served food and smoking was allowed inside. Overall, the best part was the music. They played DEBBIEFREAKINGGIBSON!

It was February 7th, 2010. Superbowl XLIV. A day many New Orleanians thought they would never see. We were of course transplants, but completely swept up with Drew Brees and the Saints finishing strong, if you will. As soon as the Saints won my wife and I packed up from the Metairie Party we were at and drove as fast as we could to the Quarter. Smartest decision we ever made, we barely beat crippling traffic to make it to the best party we have ever been to. There were people everywhere and a smile on everyone’s face. Strangers were hugging and kissing, strangers of every race and creed. It was something else. So needless to say I got pretty freaking smashed. Somehow my wife kept enough wits about her to organize a meet up with a friend from work at some random bar. I remember very little from the bar, save some exceptionally strong drinks and singing a very slurred version of «When the Saints Go Marching In» at the top of my lungs. It was, for all intents and purposes, the most perfect bar I have ever been to. Although I had no idea what it was called or really where it was. Flash forward 4 years and I am back in the Quarter, unfortunately as a visitor and not a NOLA resident, my wife and I looking for the perfect place to get something to eat. She mentions a bar called the 700 Club that had good vegan friendly food, starving that sounded good enough to me. As I walked in the door all he memories of that Superbowl Victory came back to me, slurred singing and all. Luckily I refrained from belting out a tune, I don’t think the laid back Thursday Night crowd would have appreciated it. I have to say, we had a really great time here. You order their bar food from a seedy dimly lit back room, but the guy working back there was great. I got a veggie burger which was brought back out to my table in front, shortly after we had our drinks. I hesitate to say this was one of the best veggie burgers I ever had, because I think maybe they brought me a meat burger by accident, although they swore it was the veggie. It was so freaking good, great meal altogether, especially for our particular situation. The bar is a bit smoky, but otherwise the atmosphere is great, albeit very divey. I’ve never understood homophobia and especially homophobia related to going to gay bars. From my experience, everyone is very nice and the drinks are ridiculously strong and cheap. I’ve never even been molested! This place continues that proud tradition of an inexpensive night out while I laugh with friends and usually get to hear at least one Depeche Mode song. Can’t beat that.

I stayed at the Inn at St. Peter across the street, so of course I had to check out this place. I felt that no matter what time of day, the music was pumping and the staff were engaging and friendly. I felt that the crowd had a great mix of locals and tourists. We decided to eat a few things and most of my friends felt it was good. I had a burger, my buddies went back for brunch on Sunday and stated that it was great. Take advantage of the different Happy Hour Specials they have daily. Prices for drinks were reasonable. This is my kind of place, I would definitely be a local at this spot and I am not gay… but definitely gay friendly :-)

Yeah, just okay. I was told the crowd that I’d like would be here… and demographically, I think that’s accurate. But the people weren’t friendly, just little clusters talking amongst themselves. The bartenders were adequate but certainly not engaging. Yeah, not blown away. Just an okay first experience. Not sure I’d make the effort to return on my next trip to New Orleans.

Super nice people with amazing food! Wish we knew about this sooner. Food came out a bit slow but SO worth it. Most friendly bartender we’ve had so far! Definitely check this place out if you have the chance.

Great music… I loved every single song that came on that night. Attentive staff. Matt, our bartender, was great. When I told him I couldn’t decide what to drink, and told him I wanted a drink with rum or vodka… he came up with a drink that I’ve never had before, but am eager to get again. It was sooo refreshing. I’m going to guess it was a Watermelon Mojito… but I wish I would have asked. It was the perfect summer drink, especially in the NOLA heat. Matt was very friendly and had no problems answering our touristy questions about what we should experience before we go home. If I was a local, this would be a place I would frequent.

A GREATFRENCHQUARTER«NEIGHBORHOOD» BAR&CAFÉ. GAY, STRAIGHT, BLACK, WHITE, YOUNG, OLD are here, Saints’ games especially DAILYSPECIALS most of which dove tail with in-house Munch Cafés menu. When Paul, the friendliest and most attentive veteran bartender at the Pub, moved to the 700 Club I knew it was going to be «the neighborhood bar». It was just a year ago that I relocated 4 distant blocks from the raucous«lavender line» to the Vieux Carré’s quaint«financial district»(called so because of the wads of ones that older gentlemen carry to tip strippers at nearby nightclubs). So it’s odd to me that 700 Club is listed on Unilocal solely as a «gay club» when that’s the very least of what«the neighborhood bar» is.

I don’t know what it was this weekend, but I could not tolerate most bars I went into because of the overwhelming cloud of dirty ashtray that hit me as soon as I crossed the threshold. Wait, I do know what it was this weekend: I had a shitty head cold. That said, 700 Club only added to my misery and although the crowd seemed friendly and fun enough, I just wanted to get outta there! Cucumber gimlets to go, please! I will say this really isn’t my type of bar due to the huge TVs that dominate the space. Bonus points for the fellas… nice to be a gal in the midst of a boys’ club with nary a lame pick-up line. Verdict on the gimlet: nice cucumber scent/flavor, but a little too much Roses lime juice.
