Ok, this isn’t a meal I had in the place. I ordered from New Orleans Food Delivery. My salad was salty and over seasoned, although it was far better than the onion ring«funnel cake»? I keep looking at it wondering what it was supposed to be. It too is over-seasoned and a bunch of limp tangles of onion parts. I’ll not be ordering from here again.

A jewel of new orleans! This place has the details of gourmet and the non chalant attitude of new orleans. Tom will make you wish people cared about the food they serve as much as he does. I am hooked on the chicken fingers, but I went through several months of non-stop burgers. This is my favorite place in new orleans, period.

I have literally ordered the Black Bean burger here 3 times in the last 2 weeks. It is amazing, the spices are perfect. This thick bean patty is covered in one of my absolute favorite combination of foods, mangoes and avocados. Then it is laid upon crispy lettuce leaves. I am having a hard time not drooling about this right now as I describe it. I sometimes have to literally shut it down and give the rest of my fries away after devouring the burger. I do this for 2 reasons: 1. The burger is huge, very filling, and extremely tough to want to save for later. 2. The fries are literally my FAVORITE in town. Every single fry is perfectly crispy and some still have the skin? Omg, I can’t even handle it. Nor will they be the same later so I can’t save them. Next time I’m there, if you see me eating, you’re welcome to my fries. More like super welcome, & lucky, because this place is amazing.

Went here today to order lunch. There were a few people ahead of me that seemed to be ordering a BUNCH of food, so it took little over 20 minutes to get my order(chorizo and beef burger and the Heartbreaker hot dog). Got a beer at the bar and waited outside on a nice breezy day. Something to keep in mind, even though everyone keeps saying Edible Alchemy and Sacred Ground are completely different places and just share a roof, bar rules still apply — no kids allowed inside. Food was delicious. My only complaints: For the heartbreaker, the bun was soft, which is nice; obviously it was fresh, but it might be better toasted. Also, there was a toothpick in my hot dog. I couldn’t visibly see it, so it ended up in my mouth and I thought it was just crispy bacon at first :/awkward.

Came here for brunch, but had a burger and it was fantastic. The beef and chorizo sausage ground together, coupled with some jalapenos and Crystal hot sauce/jalapeño aioli was just fantastic! When we got off the street car and looked around, we thought we were in the wrong place. Edible Alchemy is a kitchen in the back of the Holy Ground bar. Don’t be confused and think that they are the same establishment they just share the same roof. Had an interesting conversation with the affable chef and his background alone makes the place worth a visit. You’ve done yourself right if you stop here during your visit to New Orleans.

So here’s the deal: the food here is excellent. Everything is homemade. Their hours are awesome. The chef is knowledgeable and friendly. It’s a lot of food for your money. Mark it a win. We came in for lunch and ate the Mac and Cheese, a Turkey Croissant, and the Sautéed Veggies. All were fresh and delish. Will absolutely be back.

Ordered the beef and chorizo burger with brie(comes with fries!). Warning: although insanely juicy and delicious, it weighs about a metric ton, so make sure you have no plans for the rest of the day should you choose to order it. My friend had the pulled pork poboy, which I sampled, and it was equally decadent. Chef is friendly and very knowledgeable about the food that he prepared(almost all from scratch). Before we even ordered he served us up a free sample of some turkey he was brining, and it was phenomenal. Can’t wait to come back and try the many other delectable-sounding items on the menu. Bonus: there are plenty of vegetarian items for those who don’t eat meat.

I occasionally grab lunch from Edible Alchemy. They have a friendly staff, and the mac and cheese with leeks(sans bacon) is the perfect comfort food with a twist.

This place made me so happy! The food made me pause several times and pinch myself. They had a cheesecake that melted in my mouth… so creamy and yummy!!! The burger was huge but I couldn’t stop eating it. And to top it all off the chef was so nice! Definitely a hidden gem… on my way there now!

was it great? No. Was it good? definitely. The chef is also super chill, and went out of his way to make my boyfriend and I’s experience less shitty(came in behind someone who stood at the window for 15 minutes reading everything… I wish this time frame was an exaggeration. Good thing this place is in a bar.) Because the chef was so awesome we’ll definitely be back

My stove has been broken for 3 days. My boyfriend got off work late and time flew by and we were out of late night options nearby, so we gave edible alchemy a shot again. I’m so glad we did. I called and got the voicemail — I was disappointed thinking they were closed. Not five minutes later a very nice man(who turned out to be the chef, i think? I didn’t catch his name. It was too loud) called me back and told me he had been on the other line with a customer and asked if i would still like to order. I was so pleased with that much dedication to their customers — I didn’t even leave him a message to call me. Boyfriend had a Mr. Mushroom and enjoyed it immensely. I had the black bean burger with mango salsa and avocado. It was messy, but completely worth it. Fries were on point as always. I had just missed the last slice of dessert, but next time I’ll go early and catch a piece. Thanks so much nice guy in the kitchen. You’ve won me over

Between my friend and I, we tried: the onion rings, hot wings, french fries and turkey croissant(brie and apples option). You can’t go wrong with brie and green apples, no complaints on the wings, fries are lovely, but daaaang those onion rings. Bonus points for the homemade ranch and super attentive and enthusiastic chef!

I was always told the south knows how to fry food, and man, this place lives up to that promise. Nestled inside Holy Ground, you may make the mistake I did for thinking the kitchen and bar are one and same. I’m sure they get that a lot, but they are in fact different establishments sharing one roof. I tried only one item(sadly) but it was enough to know this place does not mess around. My friends and I ordered the onion rings after noticing another patron’s place. The rings are unlike anything I’ve ever tried. When you first see them, they look like funnel cake, nothing like our common idea of onion rings. The rings themselves are a lovely marriage of tangy and spicy, and are the best onion rings I’ve ever eaten. Bonus to the crew for creating their own seasoning and batter. I’m sure everything else on the menu is tasty, but for a unique experience, definitely order the onion rings. And be sure to wash it down with a beer.

I live a couple of blocks down the street from The Holy Ground and finally decided to give Edible Alchemy a try. Best decision I’ve made all year. All I was looking for was something quick and easy to ease the hunger pains after work. Instead I got a freakin’ awesome sandwich…(can you curse on Unilocal,if so I would have used a different adjective)…the Croissant Club with cheddar and bacon. I went ‘Murican style but I definitely want to try the brie and apple version. You may be thinking that sandwiches are overrated but the turkey on this thing reminded me of Thanksgiving turkey and I don’t even like onions but theirs were so thinly sliced that I happily chewed away like nobody’s business. You could tell it was made with love. I wasn’t expecting the fries because I don’t remember them being included on the menu but even they were a pleasant surprise. Hand cut and double blanched, doing it right. I will most definitely be going back for seconds.
