From start to finish this was a superb meal. The cuts were cooked to perfection, the sides were ample and delicious and the wine selection is good. Service was top notch. The Food was good, but the steaks were not the best I’ve had, but were very close.

Here visiting from out of town and the food was Amazing. The price point was perfect for the amount of food and the quality. The atmosphere was relaxed but also business casual. The waiter(s) were very attentive and gave good recommendations. I will come back when I visit.

We were seated as soon as we arrived, around 6:15pm. Our reservations were for 6:30pm. As soon as we were seated our waiter arrived to take our drink order. We were then provided a warm crusty loaf of bread with butter. As we were enjoying the bread, Roy, the captain, came over to our table to explain the«off menu» items that were available. My husband had already decided on a starter of turtle soup. Roy explained to him the process of how the soup was made with sherry for a sweet finish. The soup served to him was excellent. I even tried some, not being one for turtle anything, and it was delicious. The rest of our meal was delicious also. I had a petite filet cooked to perfection with a bernaisse sauce to die for. All in all we were very impressed with this restaurant and will be back in the near future.

Great dinning experience. The whole staff was amazing and our waiter Brett took extra great care of us. From cocktails to desert our time and money was well spent. My husband and myself had the Château for two and it was excellent. Probably one of the best steaks I have every had. Don’t for get the chocolate mousse for desert!!!

Boyfriend and I tend to come here for any special event(birthday/anniversary). Bit pricey but the food and service is ‘typically’ worth it. Our go-to is surf n turf. Classic rib eye and broiled lobster is best in town. w side of potato fingerlings and mushrooms, you can find yourself dining like a Lannister. Reason only 3 stars are given — service and food, lately, is lacking. Seems lk they are rebuilding w new staff. Latest visit, although they accommodated us earlier than our reservation time, service was pretty slow. For $$$$ restaurant you would expect undivided attention frm waiter. Waiter did his best given it was rush hour time on a Saturday, but he did not come by to check on us until we had dinner(not even during appetizer or when drinks were served). Another pet peeve, he did not give us any eta on our entrees, provided we were waiting 30 mins w no cow in site. Overall, I would revisit despite recent experience.

Not the best steak I’ve ever had but boy it was really good! I ordered the chateaubriand dish for two, which includes a very tender tenderloin. It was flavored vey good and cooked to order. I got it with sides of asparagus, Mac and cheese, potatoes, and asparagus. Everything was good, I have no complaints with the food. I think it’s worth the price to as it is 85 $ for two ppl. My biggest complaint is it’s a really big pain to drive around here and park the car. Luckily they have parking next door and they vouch it for you.

Best steakhouse in the nation MYASS! Steaks under cooked, lobster over cooked. Service ultra slow. Restrooms look like a bomb went off. 30 minutes late to seat us but did comp a drink(nice move). Prices decent compared to other nice steakhouses. Just ok…

I traveled a lot I mean a lot for work, and some towns you look forward to and some well whatever . I always look forward to certain towns because of the food and new orleans is one of them of course, with the work I used to do it was do a show all day and then entertain clients at night, most of the time the clients are from out of town or even out of the country and have no idea where to go have a great meal, so it is up to me to find great spots to eat,(and of course act like I am a regular) Well this is one of my go to places when in town to take clients to, and the clients are always impressed ALWAYS

This place is like no other in NOLA. The ambiance is awesome. The servers are excellent. The food is like no other I’ve tasted in NOLA. The steak I had was one of the best I’ve eaten. The side dishes were great compliments as well. Dickie Brennan’s is the BOMB. I’ll be back!

This place is absolutely disgusting! I organized a birthday dinner for 15 of my closest friends which included some of the most highly respected surgeons in the city. The waiter accidentally spilled an entire manhattan drink on my lap and new louis vuitton. I was upset, obviously. I know it was an accident and the waiter never meant for it to happen but i spoke to the manager. The manager was 100% uninterested. He first asked to take pictures of my purse, then went on to ask me how does he know this actually happened… Wait, what??? The 15 other people at the table can attest to what just happen. He had absolutely no way of resolving the incident. One would think that maybe he would atleast offer to have it cleaned. But, nope! I will NEVER come back to this shithole. These people are incompetent assholes that dont a shit about their patrons.

Absolutely amazing dining experience. Great service and the food was phenomenal. I ordered the barbecue shrimp and grits. The shrimp was massive. The grits had sweet corn mixed and and was vibrant in flavor. The crème brûlée for dessert also was tasty. Highly recommend!

I don’t know if it’s because I have had such great steaks at Pappa’s, Bohanan’s, or Keens. BUTTHISWASNOTGOOD at all. The steak had no flavor, mediocre, and plain bad. Steak tasted like a piece of cheap meat. Especially if this place is supposedly highly rated. We had the crabcake, crab claws, cowboy ribeye, filet mignon, french onion soup, turtle soup, Mac and cheese, brussels sprouts, potato au gratin, and mushrooms. The only thing we enjoyed were the crab cake and mushrooms. SAD! The service was not that great. They came by only a couple of times, but they never asked us to cut our steak, to make sure it was cooked to perfection. They should never call this place«white glove» service. It’s a disgrace. I’ll never never ever come back, especially when there are much better choices

Traditional steakhouse. Hubby and I shared a caesar salad the 24 oz cowboy ribeye, onion rings, and the chocolate cake. We had ordered the steak medium-rare, but it was completely raw in the middle. They quickly cooked it up for us, though. The salad dressing was great and the onion rings were super crispy. The chocolate cake was heavenly. Service was great.

There is only one word to describe our experience at Dickie Brennan’s — Awesome! From the minute you walk in, they make you feel like you are a VIP. As soon as you are seated, your waiter is there to welcome you. Right away, we were told the daily specials and our waiter even made some very good suggestions. They make sure you have anything you need to drink. We didn’t order anything from the bar, opting to stick with water, but they made sure our water glasses were never empty! We ordered the soup of the day to start. It was a chicken soup very similar to a minestrone. I have never been so impressed by soup the way I was by this one! It was very hearty with big pieces of chicken — yum! From there, we got our main course. My SO and I both ordered prime rib with a side — he picked the Pontalba Potatoes(Diced, roasted potatoes sautéed with garlic, caramelized onions, wild mushrooms, ham and scallions), and I picked the Roasted Sweet Potato(topped with warmed Creole pecan butter). Everything was delicious, right from the first bite! We thought we were full after the main course, but we had to try dessert here since everything else had been extremely enjoyable so far. We opted for the Coconut Cake and we were not disappointed! It was so rich and flavourful, and the perfect way to end our meal. I would definitely recommend Dickie Brennan’s to anyone visiting NOLA — You don’t just go here for the meal, you go here for the full experience. Do yourself a favour and get the five-star treatment!

I have enjoyed Dickie’s for years and years. The food and service have always been spectacular. However, last week, the service was far superior to the steak. I enjoyed a nice bowl of turtle soup for an appetizer. I then ordered the Dick Brennan Sr. fav Strip Steak. While it was cooked to the correct temperature, I got to tell ya… it was one of the toughest Strip Steaks I’ve had. Seriously, the Strips at Outback are more tender and flavorful. Could have been an off night but when you have a steak on the menu that’s one of their signature offerings… it should be top quality. I’d have been much happier standing in the rain soaked line of people waiting to get into the Acme Oyster House for a Catfish Po-Boy and dozen raw oysters for 1⁄3 the price. My 2 cents. Greg T.

INSULTTOINJURY: A $ 25-EACH GIFTCARD??? Uh, you can’t buy a steak at most reputable steakhouses for $ 25! Worst meal of 2015(read review), we were overcharged $ 35**, and wasted billable hours waiting for the check. After sending a hand written complaint letter(my first in at least 5 years), not only did Dickie’s not reimburse, instead they sent a pusillanimous $ 50 gift card for two. And while I’ve not asked a restaurant for retribution since 1989, all Dickie Brennan’s could come up with was half of what I spent, ANDNOT in cash but in store credit, a conceit to make us spend more.

Wow… The service and food were just awesome. We had a small group of 9. We were seated in a private room with a stellar staff. If my icein my water melted, they brought a fresh glass. If my drink glass wained, they were there asking if I needed another. The appetizers were incredible… The entrees were cooked to perfection. My wife had the filet and I had the aged ribeye with home made blue cheese. Words can not express how good this was. If you are visiting NOLA, Dickie Brennan’s should be on your list!

Their 24 oz. bone-in ribeye is to die for. This steak was simply seasoned in what it appeared to almost be a Cajun seasoning. It was cooked to our liking with some delicious side dishes of mac and cheese, au gratin potatoes, and mushrooms. For desert, we ordered the bread pudding, which was just as delicious. I will definitely recommend this place for anyway wanting to enjoy a steak dinner during their visit in the French Quarter.

We came here tonight as a group of 9, and had a wonderful meal. We had a private room, and absolutely EXCELLENT service! My water glass was refilled every time I took a sip out of it. Our food was delicious! We split several appetizers. The Crab Cakes and a Shrimp appetizer. They were both great. The Crab Cake was 95% crab meat. Very little breading. I’d have to say… Best I’ve ever had. I got one of the Specials. It was a Petite Filet with Jumbo Louisiana Shrimp on top. I did get the heads peeled off … I’m not one to eat things with the eyes still attached. LOL. As a side dish I got Scalloped Potatoes. They were awesome too. This is definitely a great last night dinner. This restaurant gives me a reason to hurry back to New Orleans. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The food and service were amazing!

I wish I could give half stars that way I can give Dickie Brennan 3.5 starts instead of 3. My hubby did some homework on Unilocal and knows how much I love steak so he made a 7pm reservation for us. We decided to come early so that we could participate in their Happy Hour specials. This was another birthday dinner, while we visited New Orleans. The bar was nice, we had a friendly bartender. Aside from drinks, we also order small bites from their happy hour menu. We got the fish taco(app of the day) and shrimp lettuce wraps. I don’t care for fish tacos that much, it tasted good, but I really enjoyed the shrimp lettuce wraps more. We then went to the hostess table and check-in. We walked by several booths that were emptied so I asked the hostess if we may get booth seating. She apologized and said that they were booked. At the end of the night, there were still booth seating available, so I don’t know what she was talking about. Anyways, we were greeted but never given a menu. After a longer wait than usual, our waiter apologized for having us wait, as he was waiting on the chef to come and greet our table. Is this typical? Again, by the end of the night, I never saw a chef come out to greet any other tables. We got our menu and was ready to order. I ordered the prime rib-eye steak and the hubby ordered veal, since he was on a veal kick since Toma’s Bistro( ) We were given crab claws to start with. I’m not sure if it was crab though but some seafood creature with a claw. They were delicious. We ordered turtle soup to start with– I prefer Commander’s recipe over this one. My steak was good, but it didn’t wow me as other steakhouse has in the past. My hubby was totally disappointed with his veal. I thought it was alright as well. For the hype of being the #1 steakhouse on Tom Horans’ America’s Top Ten Steakhouse list I was thoroughly disappointed. We got an order of mac and cheese to share as well as a bottle of wine that was recommended to us. Overall, i think it’s a bit too hyped. I would recommend going to their happy hour and call it a day. Save your money for another steak house.
